In March of Heisei 30, I tried ordering delivery sushi for the first time since the days of the rotary sushi place along the Shitadai area, which was really delicious. I'm not sure if Sapporo Kaisen Maru changed its name to Sushi ONE, but I called to place an order. The phone response was a bit confused, probably just a part-time worker, so it's understandable. I ordered the cheapest option, the "Sushi ONE Nigiri" for 2 people at 1600 yen + tax, and also added the "Torikara" Zangi for 300 yen + tax. It took about 40 minutes to arrive. The Sushi ONE Nigiri included tuna, squid, tamago, sweet shrimp, salmon, and chashu. The gunkan sushi had seafood mayo, seafood bomb, and bincho. There was a lot of ginger! The rice was not very vinegary, and the fish quality was like a budget sushi chain. The nigiri was quite hard and lacked the freshness of just-made sushi. There was no wasabi included, so I used my own at home. The Zangi was big and felt like it was pre-made, with a strong garlic flavor. Ordering delivery sushi is convenient, but the quality is not as good as a budget sushi chain. I guess the key to good sushi is the rice and having it freshly made. Some might say, "Don't complain about delivery sushi, you poor person!" to reviewers who are used to eating amazing food, but that's just how it is.
