I used the morning set. There seems to be enough parking space for a few cars. There were no other customers, and the atmosphere was that of a traditional cafe with lots of manga books. The place was very clean and comfortable with effective air conditioning. The order was: ◆Morning set (650 yen) Toast, salad, boiled egg, coffee included. 【Toast】Thick slices of toast from Okameya. Slightly disappointing that the surface was not crispy. Served with strawberry jam. 【Salad】I was caught off guard by the macaroni salad. The dressing was sour. 【Boiled egg】The shell was a bit difficult to peel. 【Hot coffee】Brewed with boiling hot water, the coffee had a strong bitterness. 【Overall】A very nice cafe with a good atmosphere and service. On a certain weekday, I decided to try a different cafe called THE Cafe in Kitahoku-nishi, as my usual place, Komeda's Coffee, was lacking in entertainment. When I arrived, I was relieved to see that it wasn't too crowded, and oh, it's become non-smoking! I couldn't eat a heavy meal that day, so I opted for the "Yakisoba (680 yen)" for something light. The dish arrived after I heard the sounds of the kitchen following a proper procedure. Oh, it comes with onigiri too. Let's take a bite... Mmm, it's really good. The noodles are like medium straight ramen noodles, with a chewy texture and a gentle sauce flavor that is just right. The oiliness also adds to the taste. The ingredients include chopped seaweed, pickled ginger, cabbage, bell pepper, onion, mushrooms, pork, and sausage. The onigiri was flavorful with nori and well-seasoned rice, and I enjoyed it with a light pickled side dish and consomme soup. As I finished, my coffee arrived at the perfect timing. Overall, it was another great experience at a cafe that serves proper dishes. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I had plenty of time so I enjoyed a long lunch with lots of manga. I had a set of yakisoba and onigiri, simple things like that are the best. And the complimentary coffee after the meal was the cherry on top. It was the perfect lunch.

It's been a while since my last visit. Today I had the classic meat sauce. The cafe's meat sauce did not disappoint, it was excellent.

The cafe has a nostalgic Showa era atmosphere with a huge collection of manga. I enjoyed a Japanese-style pilaf and then savored the complimentary coffee while reading manga. The post-meal coffee is truly appreciated.

One weekday, I visited a cafe for lunch in Shinkotoni, Kita Ward. The cafe seemed to have been operating for a long time. There is a parking lot next to the cafe. The interior is spacious with many windows, allowing in plenty of natural light. It has a historical feel, but is also clean and well-maintained, with lots of manga books on display. The background music playing was likely enka songs. I decided to try the "ginger pork set meal (780 yen)" from the menu that day. When it arrived, I was not disappointed. The ginger pork was just as I had imagined a cafe's ginger pork to be. The thinly sliced pork was marinated in a slightly salty ginger sauce, making it very appetizing. The salad was fresh with a thousand island dressing, and there was also a crispy macaroni salad, boiled egg, and miso soup with white cabbage, cucumber pickles, seaweed, and green onions. The rice was delicious and had a nice texture. After the meal, a hot coffee was served automatically, and I relaxed for a while. I realized that there are not many cafes like this around anymore. I happened to come across this coffee shop by chance. It is not listed on Tabelog, so I added the information myself. I saw about 3 parking spaces next to the shop and a few more next to the shop next door. The entrance had a smell of cigarettes, which I don't like, but my curiosity to try a new place overcame it. A kind and elegant lady welcomed me with a smile. There was a man reading and smoking inside. I ordered the Napolitan (with soup) for 680 yen. The interior had 3 counter seats, 4 tables for 4 people, and 4 tables for 2 people, and there were many manga books. The Napolitan arrived in about 10 minutes, with wiener, green pepper, onion, bacon, and mushrooms mixed in just the right amount of ketchup. The noodles and ingredients had a slightly burnt taste, not too sweet, and I enjoyed eating it without getting tired of it. It was delicious! I want to try the large portion next time! The soup was consomme with sliced leeks, which was nice. From 11 am to 3 pm, a complimentary hot coffee is served after the meal. All the customers, both before and after me, were men dining alone in suits, so it seems like a smoking oasis for salarymen. Even though I'm not a salaryman, I really liked it. Everyone ordered different dishes like chicken sauté, hamburger, ginger pork, shrimp and egg bowl, and they all seemed to be delicious on average. I also noticed that the salad portion served as a side dish was generous. I appreciate that they open at 9:30 am. I will definitely go back. Thank you for the meal.
