I stayed for two nights during the three-day weekend in October. The breakfast buffet had a decent variety of dishes. I was happy to see rare delicacies like salted fish roe and pickled herring that made me feel the essence of Hakodate. The small bowls of salmon roe were very popular, but they were replenished quickly so there was no shortage. In addition to the standard side dishes, there were about three daily specials, which was a nice touch to prevent getting tired of the food even during multiple nights of stay. While compared to nationally famous breakfast buffets in Hakodate hotels, this one may seem average, but for a business hotel, I think it was satisfactory without any shortcomings. The grilled fish selection included the usual salmon and mackerel, as well as smelt fish, which was a standout. Personally, I didn't try the freshly baked bread or the small dessert sweets, but they were available.

Welcome.---------- June 2018 ----------Located at a large intersection corner heading towards Goryokaku from the tram stop Goryokaku Koen-mae Station, this nationwide hotel |o| °д°)ノ has friendly staff who provide excellent service at the front entrance. The smoking and non-smoking areas are separated, and there is a large communal bath on the top floor. Breakfast is served from 6:30 am to 9:00 am in the restaurant located to the left of the entrance. The spacious dining area is surrounded by friendly staff, and there is a TV where guests can watch. I was told they had "ikura don" (salmon roe bowl) but it turned out to be quite expensive. Instead, I opted for the "ikura don" as there were no other seafood options available. The breakfast buffet included various dishes such as pork and burdock sweet and spicy simmered dish, broccoli and shrimp coleslaw, scrambled eggs with bacon, and scallops. There were also classic dishes like hokke fish, salmon, tuna and Italian salami salad, asparagus and walnut stir-fry, and a large and rich salted squid. The milk provided was from Hokkaido, not Hakodate as I initially thought. The meal options included "nanatsuboshi" rice and kamaboko with whitebait. Overall, it was a delightful breakfast buffet experience, and check-out time was at 11:00 am. Thank you for the delicious meal.

It's morning in Hakodate. As usual, I'm staying at Route Inn Grande Hakodate Ekimae, my regular hotel in Hakodate. There's always a drinking party at Goryokaku, so I stay here. The room is not bad, and there's a hot spring in the communal bath! Well, it's not a big communal bath, but you can relax if there are about five people. Hotel prices in Hakodate have gone up, but this place still feels reasonable. For breakfast on the day, I'll try to keep it a bit healthy (laughs). I line up and choose my dishes one by one. Despite trying to take a little bit of everything, this is the result (laughs). There's nothing particularly delicious, but overall, I think it's good. Personally, I'm happy because they have yogurt here. The miso soup with silk pods was also good! I'll stay here again next time I'm in Hakodate. Thank you for the meal.

I haven't been to Hakodate for half a year and I can't seem to make a hotel reservation. My usual choice, Hokkawa, is completely unavailable. Plus, the prices in Hakodate hotels have gone up overall, and I don't like Route Inn near the station. I don't know why, but I feel safe at this Route Inn... I used to quite like the breakfast, but the quality seems to have dropped. It's not just because they don't have salmon roe anymore, but there are more frozen foods and the cooking seems sloppy. And the quality of the staff... It's great that there are more young employees, but if the quality is lacking, that's not ideal. While it's understandable that younger staff may not match the thoughtfulness of older employees, hospitality should not be age-dependent. If we don't reconsider the essence of service, the increase in renovations in Hakodate, and in Hokkaido as a whole, could lead to a decline in tourism, which is worrying. We need to improve the economy to avoid this. I have a reservation, so I will visit again with hopes for improvement next time.

Hakodate's regular inn is Route Inn Grantia Hakodate Goryokaku. It is a requirement that the drinking parties are often held around Goryokaku and the rates are reasonable, with a large communal hot spring bath. As a bath enthusiast, I cannot skip the hot spring. Last night, I drank and ate too much, so I didn't have much of an appetite this morning. I enjoyed a long soak in the hot spring to start the day fresh at 6:30 am. Unfortunately, there are no saunas or various types of baths, but it has a hot spring with rich iron content. Now, to the dining hall on the first floor. The solo breakfast buffet costs 850 yen. It's quite cheap, right? This time, the buffet featured three cups of salmon roe rice bowl. I tried to balance it out with other items. You must be thinking that it's not balanced with so much food, right? That's correct (-。-; I ate too much. I can't control myself at buffets. The taste was okay, not bad, not great. The sweet potato mochi was delicious. Also, the yogurt sauce was made only with oligosaccharides, which was a unique touch. Thank you for the meal ^_^

Route Inn Grantia Hakodate is my regular accommodation. It's convenient for various reasons. I often have drinking parties around Goryokaku, and there's a small communal bath with natural hot springs. The morning bath technically starts at 5 am, but I go in at 4:30 to work up an appetite. Breakfast starts at 6:30, and I managed to get in line third at 6:28. Lately, I haven't been walking much on business trips, so I'm a bit worried about gaining weight. Today, I'll be modest. I started with bacon, scrambled eggs, fried shumai, meatballs, grilled fish, hijiki, etc. There was also curry, but I passed on it today. They had ikura, so I took two servings. I had miso soup with snap peas, which I love with rice. Oh, I need to have a salad for a healthier option. They also had healthy vegetable juice. The flavors were nothing special, but everything was delicious. The slightly burnt bacon was good. I made a mini ikura bowl with salmon or trout? The cheerful and energetic service from the hall staff made me feel good. Thank you for the meal!

I stayed at a business hotel near Goryokaku and paid an additional 850 yen for breakfast. Most business hotels charge over 1000 yen for breakfast, so I considered going to the morning market near JR Hakodate Station for a buffet breakfast. However, I ended up eating at the hotel's main restaurant. The atmosphere inside was bright and I was happy to see a variety of vegetable salads. They also had fried lotus root, mini croquettes, sausages, stir-fried vegetables, as well as toppings like salmon roe and salted squid which impressed me. The miso soup was full of ingredients like leafy greens and mushrooms and was delicious. I could also enjoy my preferred coffee and there were three types of soup available. After a night of indulging in the rare experience of "Hakodate night," I found myself craving soup the next morning. Despite ordering multiple items, the breakfast at the main restaurant felt very warm and satisfying in terms of cost performance. I look forward to visiting again in the future.

This time, I stayed at Route Inn Grantia Hakodate Goryokaku. I made a reservation here because I had a drinking party in the Honcho district. There is also a large public bath! Around 9 o'clock, I went to the breakfast venue on the first floor and there were few customers. Maybe because it's a weekday? Anyway, it was good that there were no group customers at that time. I selected items like "Tamagoyaki, Lotus Root Tempura, Thick Fried Tofu, Wiener," etc. I also selected "Ikura" and "Clam Chowder." Of course, I also had "rice and miso soup" ready (laughs). The lotus root tempura was delicious. The salted Ikura was also delicious. If I have another drinking party in the Honcho district, I will consider staying here again. It will also be a chance for me to try the large public bath that I couldn't go to this time (laughs). Thank you for the meal!

The Route Inn chain has locations in front of Hakodate Station and in front of Goryokaku Park in Hakodate city. I stayed at the Goryokaku Park location. Breakfast was included in the stay, and they also had a hot spring, which is unique to Route Inn. Recently, hotels around Hakodate Station have been popular for their buffet-style breakfasts featuring seafood, but personally, I don't eat that much in the morning, so I am satisfied with rice and bread like at Route Inn. Even though the accommodation fee includes breakfast, they provide warm dishes, which makes me feel cozy in the morning.

This time I stayed here. Do I think the accommodation prices are high during horse racing events in Hakodate and Niigata only? This time, I saved money and booked the "lower floor plan". It was on the 3rd floor. It's the perfect location to enjoy Hakodate at night. It seems a bit higher grade than Route Inn, maybe? I had a peaceful sleep in the quiet night. Yes. Breakfast. I used the buffet at the restaurant on the 1st floor. I used it around 7:30 on Saturday morning (heading to the racecourse). The restaurant was about 50% full. There were plenty of seats. I tried making a mini seafood bowl with salmon roe and salted fish, typical of Hakodate. It's a breakfast at the same level as other hotels of the same level (^^♪ I had plans to eat out that day, so I had a light breakfast. I used it around 6:45 on Sunday morning (heading to horseback riding). The restaurant was about 30% full. I had horseback riding near Onuma Park with a rental car that day, so I ate properly. I slept well for two consecutive days. It was a really quiet room. I was satisfied with the hotel breakfast as well. Even if the Shinkansen opens, please don't raise the accommodation prices♪(^^; Thank you♪

This week, I am staying at a hotel where the accommodation fee includes meals, so please be aware of that! There are quite a few hotels in the Route Inn Group, which allows you to experience the unique characteristics of each hotel. This morning, they had salmon roe available, so I decided to make a mini salmon roe bowl inspired by the reviews I read. This kind of creative dining is the charm of breakfast buffets, right? As for the variety of dishes, it seems that there is a strong focus on Japanese cuisine. There were two types of grilled fish and a good selection of side dishes for rice, making it a great choice for rice lovers. I had planned to cut down on carbohydrates this morning, but ended up finishing a whole bowl of rice! Enjoy a little bit of everything with a bowl of white rice!

When on a business trip to Hakodate, I stayed at my usual place, Route Inn Grandia Hakodate Goryokaku. This was my first review because, well, Hakodate tends to lead to a lot of late-night drinking. It turns out this used to be where "Hinode Ramen" was located - brings back memories. Upon arriving at the venue, I was greeted by a sight I had never seen before. It seems it was my first breakfast here, after all. The dining area was quite spacious, allowing for a relaxed and uncrowded experience. I opted for rice, natto, miso soup, salmon, bacon, fried shumai, eggs, pickled radish, and umeboshi. The side dishes included a salad and simmered hijiki seaweed. I also made the unusual choice of milk. It was the richest milk I've ever tasted, and it was delicious. This hotel offers a great business plan, and Ponta users can earn points. The top-floor communal bath is a relaxing experience, and the check-out parking lot can get busy, so keep that in mind when leaving. Thank you for your hospitality.

July 5-6, 2013. Stay and Breakfast This hotel is located just a 5-minute walk from JR Goryokaku Station, right at the intersection of Route 2 and Park Line. Nearby, you can find the Hokkaido Shimbun Hokkaido Branch, Hakodate City Chiyoda Elementary School, and Goryokaku Hospital, and it only takes about 10 minutes to walk to Goryokaku Park. Arriving at the hotel around 19:20 after taking the overnight train Hokuto at Hakodate Station, I was given the key card for a single room on the 10th floor. The hotel facilities are quite impressive, with a natural hot spring and a lounge on the 14th floor. For dinner, we went out to a local famous izakaya called "Uomasa," and we were told to meet in the lobby on the first floor shortly after dropping off our luggage in the room. For breakfast at the first-floor "Asaokura Restaurant," I chose grilled salmon, sausage, simmered kelp, scrambled eggs, simmered vegetables, shrimp and shellfish, salad with lettuce, potato salad, egg salad, steamed chicken, as well as ikura bowl, rice, miso soup, seaweed, and coffee. The breakfast buffet was decent, with the highlight being the homemade ikura bowl - the small ikura was delicious. Overall, the hotel has 286 rooms and parking for 124 cars, and it is part of the Route Inn Hotels Group, which has over 230 hotels including Ark Hotel, Hotel Grantierra, and Granvillio Hotel.

I stayed at the Route Inn Grande Inn Hakodate in Hakodate. It is close to Goryokaku, and there is a natural hot spring bath on the top floor. The room had an old feel to it, but it was okay. The top floor had a natural hot spring bath, and both days no one else came in, so it was like having a private bath. The breakfast had only 2-3 people, and overall, it felt like "Golden Week is over, and the cherry blossoms have fallen" kind of hotel situation. I booked through an airline package this time, so I stayed a bit cheaper, but if booked a week in advance, it costs around 8,000 to 10,000 yen per night. The breakfast buffet menu was average. It had typical buffet items with a few original dishes. The sweet potato mochi was delicious. The airport shuttle bus was also very helpful. It is about 3km from JR Hakodate, so having a direct bus was very convenient. Thank you for taking care of us.

I'm in Hakodate for work this time, and I stayed at Route Inn Grandia Hakodate Goryokaku. I booked it with the Hokkaido LOVE discount, but actually, this trip is for fun, not work! I received a 3000 yen coupon, so I enjoyed a welcome drink of coffee. The room was typical of a hotel room, and the next morning I had breakfast, which was decent but not too extensive. I had a fun night out drinking as well. I'm not sure what the difference is between Grandia and regular Route Inn hotels, as everything seemed quite similar to other Route Inn locations. There was a bath on the top floor, but overall, it was a typical Route Inn stay!
