On a certain weekday, during lunch, I came across a flag and confirmed that it was a shop that I had previously used for delivery in the Asao area, offering mega-sized seafood bowls and grilled meat bowls. The shop now also offers dine-in options. I parked in the designated spot behind the neighboring fried chicken shop, just like I did when visiting the ramen shop before. The interior of the shop remains the same as the previous ramen shop, with a counter for 4 seats and 3 raised tables. The background music playing was a daytime information program on TV.
On this day, I decided to try the "Kushiro specialty! 3 kinds of random donburi (1680 yen)" from the menu, as I had previously tried the half-size grilled meat bowl in Asao. The dish was ready earlier than expected. I took a bite and found that the yellowtail, with its three thick slices, had a good balance of acidity and fat content. The mackerel, also with three thick slices, was well-pickled with vinegar and not overly fatty. The salmon, with three large pieces, was tender and not overly fatty, making it easy to enjoy.
For the second half of the meal, I tried dipping the fish in the recommended fish sauce and sesame oil provided by the shop. At first, the strong smell of the fish sauce surprised me, but I found that it added depth to the flavor of the fish once I got used to it. The vinegared rice topped with chopped seaweed was voluminous even in the half-size portion, with a moderate level of acidity that complemented the pickled ginger, shiso, and cucumber.
I also enjoyed the side dishes of pickled mountain vegetables, seaweed, and green onion miso soup. As I finished my meal, I couldn't help but think about the potential of this place for delivery services. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. Thank you.
