Sometimes, I ask my partner to buy some Genchan's yakitori. My partner really loves Genchan's yakitori, and so do I. Genchan trained in Muroran, the home of authentic Muroran yakitori, so he still includes it on the menu. Today, we'll leave the order up to Genchan - it'll be around 2000 yen. When we asked, he replied with a cheerful "Sure thing! Thanks as always!" Genchan's tsukune is the best, in my opinion. He grills everything over charcoal, giving it a delicious smoky flavor. With everything going on with COVID lately, we haven't been to any other yakitori places. Genchan's yakitori or Sekoma's yakitori have become our go-to choices. I personally think Genchan is a genius when it comes to yakitori, maybe it's because of his great personality. Genchan's yakitori is available for takeout, so why not give it a try? ♫

As usual, Gen-chan's place was great (^^) The other day, I posted a review of take-out yakitori, and my dear neighbor reviewer, Harubou1028, caught on and joined in (lol) Today turned into a celebration for Harubou's move, with a drinking session in Hassamu (^^) I was planning to have a quiet drink with Harubou, but we were interrupted by the local villain boss (;´Д`) Well, at Gen-chan's place, the chance of running into someone you know is 79.6% (just a rough estimate), so even if you keep it a secret, they'll sniff it out and show up (^^)v We started with edamame, then grilled squid, Gen-chan's fried chicken, and salmon belly with pickled cucumbers (^^) The highlight of today was definitely the horse meat (^^) Harubou ordered horse meat yukhoe, and it was incredibly delicious! You know, since raw beef is no longer allowed, the demand for horse meat yukhoe has been skyrocketing. According to Gen-chan (´・ω・`) The horse meat yukhoe was so tasty that we decided to order horse sashimi as well (^^) The horse sashimi at Gen-chan's place is a bit thick-cut. It has a good chew, unlike other places, so it's delicious (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) Just a little grated garlic dip makes it even better! So delicious! This horse sashimi! Of course, we can't forget Gen-chan's tsukune (meatballs) (^^) Oh! Today's Gen-chan's tsukune is different from usual! It's fluffier than usual! The chewy cartilage texture is less prominent? Ah! I see! The usual tsukune I have is not freshly grilled since I usually get it for take-out. I've been eating slightly tough tsukune. That's why it's different today (^^) I had the grilled rice ball all to myself. It has cheese inside, so I wouldn't recommend it to Harubou (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) Look at the cozy atmosphere at Gen-chan's place. Harubou also liked it. He said he'd visit with his family next time. Well, at Gen-chan's place, it's safe even with kids (^^)v So, I need to plan the second round of Hassamu drinking with the neighbors soon (lol) Should we go to Ajito? Or Ono-san's place? To my dear reviewer SR4003HT6 and their friend, we had a drink together٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و Honestly, I've been feeling a mix of "excitement" and "nervousness" for the past 2-3 days, like experiencing a strange feeling of "going on a date with a woman for the first time" (`▽´)ヒヒヒ Well, it's not really like that... ( ´∀`)ハハハ オコラレルゾ Well, let's not go into details haha. I nervously entered the restaurant... The owner asked, "How many people?" Well, it's obvious it's not the young group in front... but are the two older gentlemen in the back? I tell the owner (Gen-chan haha) the name for the reservation... including myself, we all look puzzled ( ´∀`)ハハハ It was the two older gentlemen in the back haha. Well, this review is getting off track from the restaurant... The yakitori has a charcoal-grilled pattern... I couldn't confirm it, but based on the tsukune I ate, I think it's charcoal-grilled... if not, I have a bad palate haha. The tsukune recommended by SR was crunchy with cartilage and very tasty. We also ordered a few other dishes, but the hit of the night was the "neigh" horse meat♪ The yukhoe and sashimi were very horse... huh? very delicious~(`▽´)ヒヒヒ. It was a very enjoyable drink, with valuable conversations with Gen-chan, and the "horse meat menu is very popular problem" haha, it was a fun evening٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و I would like to revisit with Gen-chan and their partner and beloved child. I had a meeting with some people, and although there was food available, it wasn't really eaten. So, as a snack before the next meeting, I came to the evil boss and Gen-chan's place with Gen-chan. The evil boss seems to have already eaten, so we're just here to drink. I know I won't be able to go home until later today, so I need to eat something now or I'll die by tomorrow morning, haha. That's why I ordered a mixed plate of yakitori and grilled rice balls at Gen-chan's place. They have Yakitori from Muroran here too. Lately, it seems like a lot of people say "Yakitori should be salted", emphasizing the flavor of the ingredients. But actually, I think the sauce is important for Yakitori. The meat is briefly marinated in the sauce after being grilled, allowing the flavor of the meat to seep into the sauce. So, the taste of the sauce can vary depending on the restaurant. That's why when I say "chef's choice" at Gen-chan's place, they confidently grill the Yakitori with their special sauce. In my opinion, Gen-chan is a genius when it comes to grilling Yakitori. Well, that's just my personal opinion. There may be better places out there, but today's grilled rice balls are huge! Gen-chan's place uses charcoal for cooking, so even the grilled rice balls are seared over charcoal. It's different from just microwaving a grilled rice ball. Mmm, thanks to Gen-chan's Yakitori and grilled rice balls, I'm full now. So, I guess it's time to head to the next meeting, right? It doesn't matter if we cross over to the next day or if we catch the sunrise. In the end, I'll be sending the evil boss back, haha. ♫

It's the familiar Gen-chan. Today, I got takeout to bring back~. Oh, and today we're having a party with Shige-chan and our drinking buddies at Shige-chan's place. Shige-chan loves chicken, so I thought he would be happy too, you know (^▽^) I ordered about 20 skewers from the day before and asked Gen-chan to take care of it. Oh! Make sure to include the tsukune (meatballs) too! I ordered over the phone. When I stopped by before the agreed time, the skewers were already done. "Well, you always come early, so I had them ready for you~," he said. Oh no, I feel bad for making him worry. Sorry about that (´・ω・`) This time, we had skewers from Muroran Yakitori, Torisei, and of course, tsukune. Shige-chan immediately grabbed the Torisei skewer and kept saying "Delicious, delicious!" The other members of the drinking party flocked to the tsukune. As expected. Nowadays, it's not so rare to have cartilage in tsukune, right? Gen-chan's tsukune also has cartilage, but not too much. So it doesn't get in the way of the meat in your mouth. And it's moist and flavorful. Chewing slowly makes you feel happy. Gen-chan's tsukune is (laughs) So, Shige-chan was pleased, right? The day before, I asked Gen-chan to prepare for me, saying, "I'll come around 7:00 PM tomorrow night, so please have it grilled." My partner really wanted to eat delicious yakitori grilled over charcoal, so I made sure to ask Gen-chan in advance. Sure enough, freshly grilled yakitori is the best when eaten at a restaurant. Gen-chan prepared everything for me, even though I arrived a bit late around 7:30 PM. It's just his honest and reliable nature that makes his restaurant so popular in the area. When I got home, the yakitori was still warm, so I didn't need to reheat it. I started with the liver, which was surprisingly sweet and delicious. Gen-chan uses high-quality liver, which makes a huge difference. And the tsukune with cartilage was also a hit. Many restaurants take pride in their tsukune, and Gen-chan's version is no exception. I'll have to ask him about his secret next time. Did we also have negima or chicken wings? Yakitori goes best with beer, but I ended up drinking whisky on the rocks while talking nonsense. Oh well, it's always nice to bring home a treat for my partner. It doesn't hurt to be considerate sometimes, right? Cheers!

I went to a place that is associated with the leader of evil. The evil leader said he only drinks because he has a full stomach. I was feeling hungry, so I ordered Genchan Ramen. I also ordered other dishes like steamed clams and grilled hormones as drinking snacks. Genchan Ramen is basically a chicken broth ramen with added tonkotsu soup for richness. The noodles are curly noodles from Nishiyama. Despite the rich chicken broth, the noodles surprisingly complement it well. It used to be a bit salty and served as a ramen for after drinking, but the evolved Genchan Ramen can be enjoyed as a meal too, right? The unique feature of Genchan Ramen is the occasional small pieces of meat or hormones in it, which serve as a substitute for chashu. They are delicious, grilled over charcoal! They don't serve lunch these days, so you can only have Genchan Ramen at night. I'll come back just to eat the ramen again! Even though it's an izakaya (laughs) ♫

I personally recommend the thick-cut bacon with smoked duck, and Gen-chan's recommended tsukune with special sauce is a must-try. Oh, and don't forget to order the beef kalbi bowl. Gen-chan's dishes are a bit salty, but that's what makes them popular. Everyone here always gets a little tipsy (laughs). The best dish today was the burdock root tempura. It may seem simple, but the villains quickly devoured it. When we're up to no good, Gen-chan's place is the perfect hideout. Later, we'll also have to visit the shop run by Mama, who recently recovered from a traffic accident. Even though we're part of the evil organization, we still need to be considerate to survive. I gathered at Gen-chan's place to scheme with bad people. Normally, a few villains would come together, but today it's just the two of us having a private drink. Although I don't drink outside, so it's just one bad guy drinking. I leave the ordering to Gen-chan. We had dried squid, salted hormone, and raw lamb grilled with rock salt. Gen-chan's place uses charcoal grilling, and all the grilled dishes are delicious. While the bad guys just want to drink, I'm also here for dinner. Of course, I'll have Gen-chan Ramen. It has a rich soup with grilled meat in it. It's a bit salty, but that's expected at an izakaya. The finishing ramen is also salty, so I couldn't finish the soup. But Gen-chan's ramen is very popular among the drunkards around here. Gen-chan's charcoal izakaya with delicious grilled dishes and ramen is a cozy place. Highly recommended!

I always rely on Gen-san for everything, so I couldn't avoid going when they started serving lunch. But the timing was a bit off. The recommended roast beef bowl was sold out! It was limited to 10 servings, so it couldn't be helped. There were other options like chicken simmered in soy sauce bowl and stone-cooked mapo tofu bowl. I decided to try something unique and went for the limited Gen-chan ramen. It used to be only available at night, but now you can have it for lunch too. It had a rich white broth with a strong pepper flavor and a bit of spiciness. It came with bean sprouts, cabbage, and pork. The noodles were similar to Asahikawa noodles, low in water content. It's perfect for enjoying with some drinks, but might be a bit heavy for lunch. The usual izakaya menu is delicious, but Gen-chan ramen is also quite good. Now, I have to give the lunch menu another try!

The three young men welcomed us at the charcoal-grilled izakaya with heavy sliding doors. The small restaurant had three tables and a raised seating area. The counter was covered with thick vinyl to protect from flying charcoal. They had a special promotion until the 25th, so we ordered plum wine and aged beef kalbi. The appetizer was only 150 yen, and we also had pickled eggplant. The menu was typical izakaya fare, but overall, the prices were reasonable. The aged beef kalbi arrived quickly, cooked in a pan with sauce. It was tender and flavorful. The Muroran yakitori was surprisingly soft and fatty, with a mild mustard sauce. We also tried the garlic chicken steak, which was juicy and flavorful. Overall, we recommend the Muroran yakitori if you visit this place - it's a must-try for yakitori lovers.

Gen-chan trained at a Muroran-style yakitori shop, so the sauce also has a Muroran-style yakitori flavor. And, of course, this tsukune is from Gen-chan. Tsukune is always delicious at any yakitori shop, right? Gen-chan's tsukune is made with finely chopped cartilage. Of course, eating it fresh at the restaurant while chatting with Gen-chan is the best, but even as takeout, it's still incredibly satisfying. Yakitori may seem simple, but try having it with some drinks at Gen-chan's place once. It's so comforting and enjoyable ♫
