I received a souvenir from an acquaintance at work. When I opened the beautifully crafted paper box, I found rows of individually wrapped baked goods lined up. There were a total of 16 pieces. I immediately picked one up and tried it. It was crispy and had a delightful buttery aroma. Delicious!

Recently opened next to this restaurant is a dumpling shop, and I'm a bit worried because the dumplings are so eye-catching that the financiers might be hard to find. However, I recommend going there with the dumpling shop as a landmark. The freshly baked financiers have a wonderful aroma, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. I would love to enjoy them with coffee or tea. I also bought pudding and cream puffs, but I will save them for tomorrow.

I am a huge fan of financiers. Hello. In Sapporo, there are quite a few places that offer freshly baked financiers. I have tried various ones, but haven't found one that I want to go back for yet... So far, the financiers from Noix de Boule are my favorite, but you can only buy them in Tokyo. My sister told me, "A new shop selling freshly baked financiers has opened!" and I went there right away! We happened to be having lunch in Toyohira, so we stopped by on our way back. They had a variety of flavors. I bought a box of four Premium Maple Nut Chocolate financiers, a custard pudding for my father, and a cream puff for my husband. My husband immediately ate the cream puff in the car. He enjoyed the crispy texture, and the cream was not too sweet and easy to eat. Now, we stopped by my parents' house for snack time. First, we tried the Premium one. Yes! The surface is crispy, and the inside is moist! The texture is just how I like it!! The sweetness is just right, not too buttery, and I really like it. Next, we tried the Chocolate one. I also thought this when I tried the financiers from Cozy Doll before, but does the chocolate tend to harden the surface? The texture is great, and the chocolate flavor is recommended. It's not too sweet and delicious. I might like the Maple one more than the Premium! The texture is slightly moist compared to others, but I love it! My mother tried the Nut one, and she said the nuts were fragrant and the financier itself was delicious. Thanks to my sister for sharing the information! I will visit again.

I came to the gyoza shop next door, so I'll try buying something here too. Actually, it seems like the gyoza shop next door is the same store. Even if the gyoza shop is closed, it seems fine, but I wonder what they do when the sweets shop is closed? Right? The customer service is great, with a beautiful lady. Thank you for allowing me to take photos! This shop recommends freshly baked financiers, but I personally think that butter-based baked goods taste better after 1-2 days instead of freshly baked, so I'll buy a pound cake that is not freshly baked. I'll also try the "Back Alley Cream Puffs" (300 yen), which are round and cute. The choux pastry is crispy with sugar topping, and the custard cream inside is generous and not too sweet, making it delicious! The "Chocolat Noir" (230 yen) is heavy and moist, with a strong chocolate flavor and a rich bitter sweetness from the walnuts and chocolate. It also has a good rum aroma, making it a sophisticated chocolate cake. Next time, I'll buy the Back Alley Retro Pudding and the Back Alley Smooth Pudding to compare and eat! Thank you, "Oranje"!

Located in a quiet place just off National Route 36, "GATEAU ORANGE" quietly opened on May 22, 2023. Upon entering the entrance, you will see a curtain hanging on the right wall, leading to a take-out only dumpling shop, which is a unique situation. Surprisingly, the shop also operates as an izakaya in the evening. However, the interior of "GATEAU ORANGE" is designed to maintain the image of a regular sweets shop, with the concept color of orange used throughout, creating a calm and bright atmosphere. Two glass cases are placed in front, with freshly baked financiers on the left and custard pudding and choux cream on the right. The shelves on the wall display pound cakes and other baked goods. The friendly couple who welcomed me warmly greeted me with "Welcome" and explained the products in detail. I purchased the "Back Alley Custard Pudding @350" and the "Back Alley Choux Cream (Croquant) @300". After receiving the boxed products, I enjoyed the "Back Alley Choux Cream (Croquant) @300" after dinner. The POP in the showcase describes it as "We have baked a crispy croquant with almonds on top. We have filled the choux pastry with a generous amount of special custard cream made with Biei milk and fresh eggs." The choux pastry has a crispy texture, and the smooth and gentle custard cream is delicious. The POP for the "Back Alley Smooth Pudding @350" states "We have used plenty of Hokkaido cream and Biei milk to steam-bake it smoothly and softly. It has a rich flavor thanks to the maple sugar." The pudding has a slightly firm surface, with less moisture towards the bottom becoming more smooth and moist, with caramel at the bottom. It has a rich and solid flavor, giving a sense of luxury. Although the shop is known for financiers, I personally prefer madeleines. I may not see the value of a small financier worth over 200 yen, but that's just my narrow-minded opinion. I wonder if they plan to expand their menu in the future? (I should have asked). Taking a stroll from Gakuenmae Subway Station, enjoying dumplings as a side dish with a drink, and bringing back some sweets is the best way to use it. I will visit again if they have a machine available. Thank you for the meal.

On May 22, 2023, I visited a newly opened bakery with an old man I met on the street who tried to pick me up. I didn't have much information about the place, except that it was a pastry shop. To my surprise, it turned out to be a shop specializing in freshly baked financiers (*^^*). Even more surprising was that when I opened the door, there was a dumpling shop on the right side, which had also opened on the same day w. When it comes to pastries, I usually have a bad image of them taking away the moisture in my mouth, but the financiers here didn't have that effect w. I tried the plain and nut flavors for 280 yen each, and both were delicious (*´艸`*). These are now Totoro's favorite sweets w. They also had two types of cream puffs, and I bought the soft type called "Back Alley Cream Puff (Choucre)" for 300 yen. The pastry was not too hard, and it had plenty of custard filling. It was not too sweet, so I enjoyed it until the last bite (*^^*). They also had pudding, but I decided to pass on it this time (^^ゞ. Oh, I wonder if the old man next to me enjoyed the dumplings he bought w?
