I passed through Tokoro, a town known for scallops and curling. It's not just that kind of town though, it's now known as Tokoro-cho in Kitami City. There's a confectionery shop called Takeoka Kashihonjo in the town. I went in and found lots of cream puffs in the display case, but not many other cakes. I ended up getting 3 cream puffs and 1 eclair. The man at the shop was a bit indifferent, but harmless. The paper bag was packed tightly, almost like 4 people in a row. When I opened it, only the top items were okay, the middle ones were squished, and the bottom eclair was in poor shape. The pastry was soft, the custard was not too rich, and the whipped cream was fluffy. It may not be the best quality, but it was tasty.
