Walking around the Sapporo Racecourse, the fourth stop... It's over 30 degrees, and I've completely lost my appetite while doing my "food log" activity. The windows of the facility are wide open, creating an open-air feel with the racetrack, but inside the building, the air conditioning is on in some areas, making it cool. So, I stopped at a place like that to take a break and relax for a moment. I arrived at "Matsumoto Shoten." The menu includes various pilafs, drinks, and popcorn, as well as kushikatsu and curry sticks from Tonkatsu Tamafuji. I purchased the "Katsu Curry Stick @450" from Tonkatsu Tamafuji. I had eaten it before and thought the cost performance was not great, but it has been further increased in price (-_-;). It's a "curry to go" where curry and rice are inside a stick-shaped fried item. The curry is not very spicy, and even children can eat it. It is often sold pre-made, and the texture is quite firm. I would like to try it freshly fried once. Thank you for the meal.

It's Sapporo Racecourse ^_^ Right now it's Sapporo races, but this time it's Hakodate races σ(^_^;) I enjoyed horse racing while walking around! Since I'm feeling good, I'll try the stick cutlet! Stick cutlet made by Tamafuji. They mix rice and curry, shape it like a stick, and deep fry it. It's like curry without the meat in curry cutlet style that you can eat with your hands ^_^ Well then, let's dig in! It's crispy and moist with curry flavor ^_^ It's quite delicious! The spiciness of the curry is like medium spicy in a retort curry, even kids can eat it. If possible, I'd like them to make the meat into thin sticks to enhance the curry cutlet experience σ(^_^;) Now, I'm going to make even more profit (laughs) Thanks for the meal ^_^1149

◆◆◆◆◆◆【Second Post】◆◆◆◆◆◆【August 2015】This is my second post, so I'll briefly talk about the restaurant. They have three types of pilaf on the menu. Since it was early in the morning, the "Shrimp Pilaf" had just been made. Naturally, I decided to try the "Shrimp Pilaf" this time.■Gomoku PilafI was lucky to get a freshly made, hot pilaf. It came in a plastic container, like a bento box. The portion size was a bit small. It tasted similar to fried rice, but with a pilaf twist. The freshly made hot pilaf was delicious.Price: 550 yen (including 8% consumption tax)The Sapporo Racecourse is a popular spot with many visitors. Seating and food options are limited. The food court at the racecourse always runs out of rice dishes quickly. This pilaf was a rare find inside the racecourse.◆◆◆◆◆◆【First Post】◆◆◆◆◆◆I tried the "Katsu Curry Stick" and "Popcorn" at Tonkatsu Tamafuji. The Matsumoto Shoten Umanohaba branch is located inside the JR Sapporo Racecourse.【August 2014】The JR Sapporo Racecourse underwent renovations two years ago. Last year, there was no Sapporo race due to the renovations. It reopened on July 26th. The Sapporo race runs from July 26th to September 7th this year. The new racecourse has fewer green spaces and seating, but I visited the infield for the greenery. The infield used to have more entertainment options, but now it's more family-friendly. During a break, I stopped by the Matsumoto Shoten Umanohaba branch with my usual companion. This shop is located in the Kuwazon area of Chuo Ward in Sapporo, inside the JR Sapporo Racecourse infield. For the exact location, please check on Tabelog. The Matsumoto Shoten Umanohaba branch is a mini food court inside a rest area. It only operates on Sapporo race days. Therefore, it was open for 14 days in 2014. It doesn't operate during the Park Wins event. They sell not only pilaf and sandwiches but also "Katsu Curry Sticks," "Skewered Cutlets," and "Popcorn." They also offer drinks like draft beer, including "Sapporo Classic" and "Ebisu," both priced the same, so I ordered an Ebisu. I also tried the popcorn.■Katsu Curry StickThis is a portable katsu curry. It's a popular takeout item from Tonkatsu Tamafuji in Sapporo Esta. The curry, rice, and tonkatsu are shaped into a stick and deep-fried. The curry is medium spicy. It tastes just like katsu curry. Since it's a fried dish with Worcestershire sauce, it pairs well with the sauce.Price: 400 yen (including 8% consumption tax)■PopcornThey have a machine in the shop to make the popcorn. It was warm and had a good taste. They put it in a plastic bag to avoid spillage.Price: 410 yen (including 8% consumption tax)■Ebisu Draft BeerPrice: 410 yen (including 8% consumption tax)It was great to be able to enjoy the popular "Katsu Curry Stick" at the racecourse. It was freshly fried and deliciously warm. It was a crispy katsu curry. The Ebisu draft beer was delicious. The popcorn was a good snack with beer. Next time, I might try the "Skewered Cutlets" and "Ebisu." It was a delicious meal. Thank you!
