Today, I was tied up with overseeing exterior wall painting work at my house since morning, and couldn't break away until around 3 pm when the work was finished. By that time, most places were in their afternoon break, but I found a restaurant that was open all day. It was around 3:15 pm, and there were about 4 groups of customers already inside. Even after I entered, more customers kept coming in. Since it was close to dinner time, I decided to have a light meal of "Char Siu Ramen" for 840 yen including tax. It didn't take long for the dish to be served, about 5-6 minutes. The presentation was still a bit uneven, but the pork was generously portioned and looked delicious. I started by tasting the soup with a spoon, and it was really good! The depth of flavor and the right amount of saltiness made it enjoyable to drink at that moment. The ramen noodles were also delicious when mixed with the soup. And when I had a bite of the pork, it added to the blissful taste experience. The portion was just right to satisfy my hunger. As I continued to enjoy the meal, I finished the noodles and toppings fairly quickly, savoring the remaining soup with each spoonful until I finally lifted the bowl and drank it all. It felt like a guilty pleasure, but the taste was just too good.

This is a ramen shop in Kagoshima. I ordered the Sakurajima Ramen, which has three large slices of chashu. It was a delicious tonkotsu ramen that was not too heavy and easy to eat, without the unique smell of tonkotsu. The chashu was plentiful, tender, and very tasty. I would like to try the Tai Dashi Ramen next time. Thank you for the meal!

I have been going to this place for 20 years. I remembered my dad saying, "I can't tell if you're eating ramen or coming for the meat." The light tonkotsu broth, straight thin noodles, seared pork belly, pork belly chashu, and pork shoulder chashu, all in large portions, provide a satisfying meal. The sesame oil aroma from the greens adds a different flavor dimension, making it all the more delicious.

I have about seven chunks of chashu on top, which is my limit in terms of volume. This delicious ramen can be enjoyed for 840 yen, and the simple service is nice. Today, the owner brought me water for self-service. Since they are open all day, it's best to go during off-peak hours. Recommended.

I visited around 1:00 PM for lunch. There were about 5 people waiting outside. We waited for about 20 minutes, and all of us were able to get in. It was a very hot day, and I remember it being hot inside as well. I don't usually eat Kyushu-style ramen, but the person I was with used to go there a lot and said it was delicious, so I decided to try it. I ordered the ramen without char siu topping since it was said to be a large portion when eating alone. The three types of char siu had different flavors and were enjoyable to eat. The plain ramen was tasty with the pickled mustard greens adding a nice touch. The restaurant is not very big, but they have tatami seating, making it easy for families to visit. Thank you for the meal!

I visited a Kagoshima ramen shop after a few years, as I have been eating a lot of tonkotsu ramen lately and my ramen taste level seems to have improved. I ordered the "Sakurajima Chashu" ramen. The rich tonkotsu broth and thin noodles with low water content go well together. The tonkotsu flavor is just as good as I remembered, really to my liking. It's perfect for hot weather. The takana (pickled mustard greens) and green onions are also really good. It's different from Hakata ramen. The chashu is incredibly delicious. Was it always this tasty? The soup here is described best as "rich." It might still be my favorite tonkotsu shiro (white tonkotsu) ramen. I'm curious about their sea bream dashi ramen and Kujo green onion ramen, so I'll try those next time. The best! Thank you for the meal!

We went on a lunch search journey with the young employees of the company. Eventually, we ended up in Nishino in the West District and found ourselves at Sakurajima, a Kagoshima ramen shop. Since it's Kyushu ramen, it's of course tonkotsu-based, but the soup here is not too thick, yet not too light either, just right in between. They have miso and sea bream dashi flavors too, but I haven't tried them yet haha. Of course, we had to try their famous chashu, so we ordered the sliced chashu ramen. The chashu is like braised pork belly that hasn't been sliced, with a slightly intense flavor and a tender texture that may be a bit overwhelming for some of the younger folks. The hearty soup with generous chashu, it's a good balance. We enjoyed it, thank you for the meal.

- One serving of Char Siu Ramen for 690 yen. It had been quite a while since my last visit, maybe around 10 years ago! The menu seems to have remained unchanged from before. I remember being impressed by the generous amount of Char Siu in the Sakurajima Ramen I ordered last time, so this time I opted for the single serving of Char Siu Ramen. Even with just one piece, the Char Siu was thick, large, tender, and satisfying! Despite its appearance, the soup was surprisingly light and I was able to finish it all. The noodles, made from Hokkaido wheat, were perfect. And to top it off, the quality of this bowl at 690 yen is unbelievably cheap.

I want to eat something meaty! It's been a long time since I came here. It's not quite lunch or dinner time, but luckily this restaurant is open all day. There's only one parking space and one customer. I decided to go with the Sakurajima Ramen. It didn't take long for the ramen to arrive. The visual presentation was amazing with three types of chashu - rolled chashu, pork belly chashu, and braised chashu. It was very satisfying and filling. The noodles were thin, but with so much chashu, there was no feeling of being unsatisfied. I finished the soup as well. I was very satisfied and enjoyed my meal.

I ordered the Sakurajima Ramen (930 yen) and the Braised Pork Curry Rice - small (360 yen), totaling 1,290 yen. The Sakurajima Ramen is a rare dish from Kagoshima in Hokkaido. It comes with three types of thick and tender chashu, and the soup has a rich and deep flavor that doesn't seem to contain any artificial seasonings. The thick and sticky texture of the soup is also delicious. The thin noodles are not commonly found in Hokkaido, but they complement the dish well. The Braised Pork Curry Rice - small features braised pork in the center with a sweet and mild flavor that even children would enjoy. It would have been perfect if there were some Fukujinzuke (pickles) included. The restaurant is quite dirty, but tolerable. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

In the hot summer, there's nothing better than eating a hot tonkotsu ramen in Japan! And there's no better place for that than Ramen Sakurajima. I visited after a long time and was delighted by the atmosphere of the restaurant. I ordered the Sakurajima Ramen (930 yen) and it arrived in 5-6 minutes. The ramen comes with three types of chashu: regular, seared, and what seemed like braised chashu. It may have shrunk a bit since my last visit. Surprisingly, it was not too oily and quite refreshing, suitable even for women. The ramen was topped generously with takana, which was a nice touch. I finished the bowl sweating on my forehead and back!

As expected from the pre-reviews, the owner of the shop seems to be very particular about the chashu, and it was indeed delicious. The ramen had thin straight noodles, which were also tasty, but the chashu is the main attraction. If you love Chinese soba, this place is a safe bet.

A shop that you feel like visiting once a month. It seems that they use eggs to bind the noodles. It's not listed on the menu, but I recently found out that you can upgrade to a large portion for an additional 150 yen (originally already has a lot of noodles). Also, the floor is sticky, so it would be better to mop it (using detergent to remove oil) after closing.

I wanted to eat ramen in the neighborhood and found that Rokkoen had a long line and Mokuren was temporarily closed, so I decided to go to this place nearby. As the name suggests, they serve Kagoshima ramen. I ordered the Sakurajima ramen with a mix of three types of chashu. The soup is made without chemical seasonings, so it's lighter than it looks. The noodles are kansui and egg-free, slightly slippery and soft straight noodles. It's lighter than what I had in Tenmonkan in the past. But it's delicious. It's a rare find among Sapporo ramen, with a gentle taste that makes you want to eat it occasionally. Thank you for the meal!

The original thin noodles went well with the light tonkotsu soup and were easy to eat. The unique topping of blue pickled mustard greens was interesting. The Sakurajima Ramen I tried for the first time had three large and delicious homemade chashu slices. I want to eat it again.

I went to eat there after a long time. I had tried the Sakurajima Ramen on the menu before, and I was surprised by the amount of chashu! It was like eating at a yakiniku restaurant. I managed to finish it somehow. This time, I ordered a Chashu Ramen and enjoyed it till the last bite. I will definitely go back. PS. For meat lovers, you must try the Sakurajima Ramen!

Visited on Wednesday afternoon. There were still many people on New Year's holiday, so there were only two groups of customers inside and outside the restaurant. My companion ordered the Sakurajima Ramen. As for me, I have been getting weaker with fatty foods recently, so I thought I couldn't eat that much chashu, and ordered the cheaper Kuzure Chashu Men instead. Both were priced at less than 1000 yen, which is quite cost-effective for this amount. The soup was truly "rich" in flavor. It was a tonkotsu broth that was refreshing to eat. As for the chashu, the Kuzure Chashu Men had plenty of lean meat pieces. It seemed like there was more meat compared to the chashu in the Sakurajima Ramen. I made a mistake thinking there would be less... In the end, I had to ask my companion for help and we finished it together. The takana (pickled mustard greens) was a nice accent, good. The noodles were thin straight noodles with a good chew at first, but they tended to get soft quickly. For those of us who like firm noodles, it's a race against time. There were many people ordering curry as well. I wonder if it's delicious? Enjoy!

A rare Kagoshima ramen shop in Sapporo. For those who love chashu, be sure to try the Sakurajima Ramen. It comes with three generous slices of chashu, which will surely satisfy you. Despite its hearty appearance, the soup is delicate and light, made without any chemical seasonings. If you can't eat a lot of chashu, they also offer options like a single slice of chashu, chashu crumbs, or ramen without chashu. I asked my companion to order the Sakurajima Ramen and got some of their chashu to eat as well.♪____________________________________♪ - Name: Ramen Sakurajima Honten - Address: 3-1-38 Nishino 4-jo, Nishi-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido - Nearest Station: Hassamu-minami Station, 15-minute walk - Phone: 011-667-1321 - Hours: 12:00-20:00 - Closed on Tuesdays - Budget: Up to 1,999 yen - Payment: No credit cards, no electronic money - Notes: Reservations accepted, no private rooms, not available for full reservations, all seats non-smoking - Orders: Sakurajima Ramen, companion's Sakurajima Ramen with additional chashu♪____________________________________♪

I tried Sakurajima Ramen. The soup was seasoned with salt in boiled pork broth, but I don't remember it tasting like this before. The thin noodles were quite soft. The impact of the boiled pork, called chashu, was impressive. The saltiness of the pickled mustard greens helped make it edible, but the pork smell was strong. The staff's attitude was poor and the atmosphere was terrible.

I went around 2pm to avoid the usual lunchtime crowds. Luckily, there was one parking spot available so I didn't have to wait. I ordered my usual favorite, the Kuzure Chashu ramen for 840 yen. Although I want to try their curry as well, the ramen always fills me up completely. The ramen is not too heavy and has a nice balance of flavors. It's always a challenge to finish the chashu, but it's a great choice for those who love meat. I enjoyed my meal once again.

The three types of chashu are all extremely delicious! They are thick, tender, and juicy. They are so good that you could eat them with rice instead of ramen. The level of the chashu is amazing. However, the ramen itself is just average. But the chashu is definitely worth trying. Next time, I would like to try the curry from a different menu! With this meat, you can't go wrong.
