JR Shiraishi Station, just a 1-minute walk away, "daily dish Health Bento by a Registered Dietitian" opened on June 1, 2022. It operates four days a week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, opening at 7:30 am for convenient use before work. The store is small, with one customer at a time. A woman in her 30s to 40s greets you with a clear voice, asking if it's your first visit and explaining the contents of the bento prepared in-store. The basic bento changes daily, with two options: "meat" and "fish", all pre-made. On this day, the meat option was "beef sukiyaki" and the fish option was "kasube simmered dish". I chose the beef sukiyaki, paid, and received the product to enjoy during lunchtime. It would have been better if it was microwaveable... The colorful side dishes included beef sukiyaki, shredded carrot, spinach and dried baby sardines salad, broccoli pickles, homemade nameko mushrooms, sesame mayo lotus root, and cherry tomatoes. The rice seemed slightly colored, perhaps mixed with something, and was quite firm, making it hard to discern the rice flavor. The beef sukiyaki had a good balance of sweet and savory flavors and was delicious. The broccoli pickles seemed more like boiled broccoli. The homemade nameko mushrooms were surprisingly well-made. The variety of dishes and good nutritional balance were impressive, but the portion seemed insufficient for adult men. Also, the cost performance may be a bit lacking. Thank you for the meal.
