Behind the Marui Imai Hakodate store, right after the back entrance (towards the parking lot), there is a Gapao restaurant in front. This was my second time eating here, the first time being in the basement of Siesta. I've only ever had Gapao rice here, so I can't really compare it to anywhere else... The minced chicken has a nice texture, with a good amount of grains, and the sweet and salty seasoning was just right, not too strong. This time, I had the Cheese Gapao. Thank you for the meal.

I visited because I wanted to eat Gapao Rice. It's a rare restaurant in Hakodate. It's great that you can add extra coriander. The rice is delicious with a strong seasoning that makes it go down easily, but I wish it had more spiciness and uniqueness. The spring rolls are Asian-style? but ordinary. Since they only have rice and noodles, it would be nice if they also had Khao Man Gai.

I visited the new location of the Gapaos shop that used to be in Siesta's basement. There doesn't seem to be a parking lot. I got Gapaolais and two spring rolls to go. It came to a total of 1000 yen. The Gapaolais was just as easy to eat as before, with no strong flavors. The spring rolls had a more Asian taste. For men, the regular size might not be enough. Inside the shop, you can also drink beer like Singha.

The location is a bit off on the map, facing the entrance side of Marui Imai. There are plenty of paid parking lots nearby, but they are not affiliated. The menu consists of 5 types of Gapao rice and mixed noodles. I had the regular Gapao rice (¥630). There are 3 seats close by for dining in, but I opted for takeout. The order was served in 3 minutes. Compared to dining in, the soup tends to spill out of the container, raising the cost. The appearance clearly resembles Gapao, but the spice level is mild and lacks basil. It has a gentle flavor suitable for all ages and genders, more like a Gapao-style minced meat bowl. Looking at Instagram, it seems to be an "adaptation for Japanese people." For those who prefer a sharper taste, there are options like spicy Gapao or coriander Gapao. This makes you want to try different flavors, but without dining in, there are no condiments available. This reveals the weakness of takeout. If the fish-shaped soy sauce container includes fish sauce, it gets a rating of 1 star.
