Wandering rookie curry mania / rookie ramen mania, a solo middle-aged man. This is a memo-like review by an old man. If you are looking for concise information about the restaurant and dishes, please move on to other people's reviews around here. Oh no, oh no... As I continue my targeted visits, the memories and impressions of the shops I visited in between and the target shops are getting mixed up and fading away. I'm starting to head towards complete oblivion, so I need to write a review before I completely forget. Well, as a "rookie ramen mania", this is one of the target shops, but it's also one of the old-school Chinese restaurants I've been visiting. I received a request for Chinese, ramen, or curry, so I headed to the Tanukikoji area aiming for "reliable Chinese cuisine". As expected by my companion, "It's crowded (lining up) over there," when we got closer, there were 4-5 waiting customers outside the entrance. There are probably twice as many waiting inside the store. So, while considering other shops in my mind, my focus was drawn to the vertical sign of "this place" a little further away. It felt like I had intentionally focused on it. Occasionally, I get this feeling of being drawn in. The location is 5-chome, Minami 2-jo Nishi, Chuo-ku. It is located at the eastern end of the Tanukikoji 5-chome block (between the 4th and 5th blocks) when heading north towards Odori Park. I've passed by the storefront many times, so I've known about it for a long time. It was founded in 1966, so I had never used it before. Upon confirming again, there is some variation in the ratings, but some people give it scores in the high 3s to over 4. So, I thought I had to go under the curtain at least once. I entered the store a little before 1:30 pm (on a Sunday), and the store had 10 counter seats to the right of the entrance. There were 5-6 tables to the left extending towards the back. It has an atmosphere of an old ramen shop/chinatown. There were about 2 groups of previous customers (a couple and a man and a woman). It was a calm time during lunch hours. When I sat at the table, more customers started coming in. Young couples, mother and daughter, middle-aged couples, solo diners (men), etc. As I was taking a photo of the storefront after eating, two solo diners (men) were peeking under the curtain and then entering. Oh, it's crowded because it has a long history. I'll order some side dishes in addition to the ramen. [Companion] Spicy miso ramen [Old Man] Miso ramen [Shared] Half fried rice, Gyoza Total: 2,850 yen (950 yen + 900 yen + 500 yen + 500 yen) The ramen was served about 5 minutes after ordering. The half fried rice and gyoza were served a little later. Hmm. It's not overly complicated, but rather simple. So, I took a spoonful of miso soup. Hmm, it's a bit lukewarm. Even though I'm a bit sensitive to hot food, they didn't need to be so careful. A little disappointing. The miso soup has a gentle taste with a slight sweetness. This way, even tourists who are not used to it may find it less awkward to eat. Well, the feature is a bit weak, isn't it? Speaking of other shops, there is a shop (known for its special mountain vegetables) where you have to wait outside for about 30 minutes. I find the miso ramen here a bit bland. "Huh? Is this ramen highly rated?" But a young man (in his early 20s) who ate the ramen was talking to his friends saying, "This is the Sapporo miso ramen,". I heard that and thought, "Oh, I see." There are people who feel more satisfied with a slightly extreme taste. For those with that perspective, it may feel a bit lacking. The noodles are medium-thick wavy egg noodles. The noodles had a slightly soft texture (not chewy) due to high water content or difficult boiling time. Hmm? The flavor seems familiar. A bit "floury" flavor. Ah, I've had this flavor somewhere before.
