The renovated Takasago Onsen now has a newly renovated dining area. This was my first time staying there, and for dinner, I had a large serving of Cantonese noodles. Even though the menu doesn't mention large servings, if you ask at the front desk, they can make your rice dish a large serving for an additional hundred yen. The ramen had a generous amount of noodles, with shrimp, squid, quail eggs, and Chinese cabbage in a soy sauce-based soup with a thick texture. The soup had a slightly sweet taste. The portion size was just right, and I was able to enjoy my meal in a relaxed atmosphere. They also have lunch options for a very reasonable price.

The cafeteria was crowded. I came to take a bath in the morning, so I ordered the Asahikawa Takasago Shoyu Ramen for lunch. It was a light and easy to eat flavor. I finished it in no time. If the Fighters win here, the next day you get free ham cutlet. Today, beef curry with ham cutlet as a topping was free. Does the topping menu change depending on the day?

During our trip to Asahikawa, we stayed at Takasago Onsen. Hotels in Asahikawa are quite expensive this time of year, but we managed to find a room here for 6,490 yen per night including breakfast. The hot springs were very nice with a variety of baths that exuded a Showa era charm. The showers were old-fashioned and you couldn't adjust the temperature - just press the button for hot water. I didn't have high expectations for breakfast, but it turned out to be sufficient. It wasn't a buffet style, but you could have unlimited refills of rice and miso soup. The menu didn't change much, but there were different side dishes and fish. With so many options, you could eat as much rice as you wanted. Surprisingly, there were quite a few guests staying there, and the dining hall was lively in the morning. The staff provided good service, with one lady generously serving the miso soup. For an additional 1,000 yen, this breakfast was satisfying. Thank you for the delicious meal in the morning.

I stayed at Takasago Onsen for 2 nights. For dinner on the first day, I had sashimi, pickled vegetables, and pickles, which were good. However, the main dishes like chicken sauté and white fish tempura, which were then grilled in foil with a sauce that tasted like shrimp chili, were surprising. The pork sukiyaki hot pot was too sweet and also surprised me. Breakfast was simple and rustic. On the second day, I stayed without meals, so I had dinner at the restaurant in the hot spring. I had a fried chicken set meal, which I enjoyed more and found it delicious. Thank you for the meal. I will come back to stay again.

It's a neighborhood association gathering. I've been helping out for about 2 years. This time, it was a flower arrangement class. After that, we had a meal together. There were supposed to be 31 participants, but 33 showed up. Some people came without signing up, like the good old days. (laughs) I didn't know anything about the preparations - it was quite a surprise. We had delicious bento boxes from Takasago Onsen for 1200 yen, with sashimi, sweet and sour pork, teriyaki chicken, shrimp tempura, and minced cutlet. I took my bento home to enjoy it slowly, but I also managed to sneak in some beer here and there. (^∀^)

"Let's go to the vacuum-packed restaurant, not the 'Piri' one! The dishes are made by skilled artisans and are not expensive. They are delicious, but could use a little more creativity. Still worth trying. Highball for 300 yen."

Back in those days, the two of us lived in an apartment with bright naked light bulbs that would sway when a freight train passed by. It was a room that suited the two of us well, in Asahikawa. The bath was hot, and we visited Takasago Onsen for the second time, I think? Do you remember? On a cold night, we were lured by the red lanterns and bought a lot of oden for 600 yen. What a deal, right? The facilities may be old, but the bath is quite enjoyable and offers various types of hot water. Whether grandpa would enjoy it is questionable, but I couldn't resist sliding down the slide, even though it was supposedly for children only. I must have gone down two or three times, right? Well, I did stop after the second time, of course. It's like being pulled by the back of your hair, but it's a once-a-month luxury, so we indulged in a little alcohol as well. The hellish hot springs in Beppu are a bit too much, though, and it makes me smile wryly. Today, we had soft serve ice cream, "Strawberry Condensed Milk", which is only available at "Sujata". It's 250 yen, and I chose the "Strawberry Condensed Milk" flavor. Sujata seems to have gotten tastier than before, right? It's smoother now. It's sweet but delicious. The strawberry flavor is subtle. The soft serve was quite sticky. I haven't even finished half of it, but the sweetness is making me cough. My wife casually asks me what's wrong, but she doesn't seem genuinely concerned. She pretends to be worried, but she's not really. When she makes it, she takes out several from the fridge to check, which is a bit of a turn-off. Well, she's my wife, so it's okay. As of May 6th, the number of soft serve ice creams and gelatos is 39.

This is my first visit in a long time to a bathhouse called Takasago Onsen. It is located in Asahikawa, at the entrance to the city, on a hill overlooking the city. It is a ryokan and bath facility, but it seems to have many day visitors. The building has a retro Showa-era feel, with various sculptures and pottery displayed in the lobby. The baths include a variety of indoor baths, including medicinal baths. There are also electric baths and radium baths, although the effectiveness of these is uncertain. There are about four outdoor baths on the rooftop, but the access path is narrow, with steps and low ceilings, making it difficult for elderly people to navigate. There is also a children's pool with a slide, reminiscent of old leisure facilities in Sapporo and Nakanoshima. The sauna is spacious but the cold water bath is warm. Some people were breaking the rules by going in and out of the sauna. After bathing, I enjoyed the usual milk time with a bottle of Megmilk. If you want to experience the nostalgic wonderland of the Showa era, be sure to visit Takasago Onsen.

Despite a rating of 2.5, there is a strangely satisfying charm to this salmon dish. This bathhouse is quite familiar to the residents of Asahikawa, and has been around for a while. The hot springs are only available for the family baths and some special guest rooms, not the regular baths. I have used the family bath before, but this time I decided to go to the regular communal bath (laughs). The meal is served on the first floor, and has a nostalgic Showa era vibe. The pork bowl had a flavor that was like a mix between ginger pork and pork bowl sauce. The rice was quite delicious. The pickles and miso soup were very much like something you would find in a local diner. It was rustic and lacked refinement, almost the opposite of sophistication... The service was also... Well, thank you for the meal. There are many types of baths, and the intricate communal bath would definitely be a hit with kids. There is even a slide... In the corner of the changing room, there is a "body drying machine." The old-fashioned tourist attraction vibe just keeps getting stronger. Inside, there is a strong wind blowing out (laughs). There is a machine with a belt that shakes your back, and a mysterious scale... It's too charming... The souvenirs and various decorations on display (with a B-grade feel) are refreshingly thorough... Bathing: Adults 600 yen, Children 250 yen Pork bowl: 500 yen

The 15th place in the survey of squid rice bowl is "Takasago Onsen". This squid rice bowl survey is not over yet. This place seems to be where not many people have visited. Takasago Onsen, located at 8-chome Takasago-dai, Asahikawa City. Website: http://www.takasagoonsen.com/. As you pass the entrance of the hot spring, there is a dining hall on the right. Looking at the ticket vending machine, the rice bowl options were all listed together. Priced at 500 yen, the shop does not have squid rice bowl, pork rice bowl, or Chinese rice bowl as listed on the ticket vending machine, so I wonder if these were added later. It comes with miso soup and pickles, which is acceptable for 500 yen. The taste is very basic, but delicious. It's hard to say what makes a basic squid rice bowl, but among the ones I've tried, the fried squid is the most common. Honestly, I didn't have high expectations for the squid rice bowl at the hot spring dining hall, but it was clearly made by a professional chef with a good foundation in cooking. The simplicity of it allows the difference in taste to stand out.

After cycling along the Chitose River, I decided to warm up and sweat a bit at this nearby place. It turned out to be quite a hill climb! It felt like a trip back in time, like the Tokyo Olympics era. The curry photo made me think of the Sapporo Olympics. The place used to be called "Taibi Onsen" before it was renovated, and now it looks more modern. There's also a classic "dining hall" with a nostalgic atmosphere. I noticed a special menu offering three types of hot pot sets. The place has a great old-school vibe and the beer was served with a nice foam. Checking their website, I saw they offer banquet menus with a strong Showa era feel. I think it would be a great place to take elderly family members. Highly recommended!

Kasago Onsen Asaburo is always the same hot spring, so I thought it would be boring and decided to try a different hot spring. I arrived at 8:30 in the morning, put my shoes in the locker, and even used a 100 yen coin. I gave the money to the woman at the front desk, not because I was trying to buy her, but she suddenly said, "It's until 9 o'clock..." I had already prepared my answer, "I will be done by 9 o'clock," because I had considered that. It cost 950 yen, but there was no way around it. However, she said, "We've already started cleaning the bath, so it's not possible!" Well then, write "Until 8 o'clock"! It says "From 9 o'clock" at Kasago Onsen, but customers keep coming in. I am quite serious, so I waited in the car until the time came. Even so, around 8:50, I entered nervously. "Please come in"... Well then, don't write "From 9 o'clock"! You can enjoy various hot springs, but it's not natural hot spring, right? Today, it's not milk but "Glucosamine Power". How much power will it give me? It's a fearsome old man. After drinking it, I was able to lift my 100kg wife. Amazing power. "Glucosamine Power" is terrifying. It tastes like a lactic acid drink, but once it reaches your stomach, your whole body gets hot. Will my blood vessels burst and die? When I opened the car door, it came off. When I pressed the starter button, my finger went through it, and the engine started. But when I put it in "R", the gear broke. Should I just drive in reverse? It's tiring, so forget it, I'll run... Huh? I can run faster than the car. Amazing. "Glucosamine Power".

This is Takasago Onsen. I came to Asahikawa to play, just for one night. Last night, I started late but ended up going to four different places. I was feeling a bit off until the third place, but the soba restaurant where we finished was really good, and I slept well. In the morning, after taking a walk of over 10,000 steps, I decided to go to the bath here. I thought I had been here before, but it turned out to be my first time. It's not new, and there is accommodation available. The bath is not a hot spring, but there are various types of water. Even though it's not a hot spring, it somehow feels good to soak in the bath. I wonder why... it's relaxing. They even have baths with Chinese herbal extracts. The open-air bath here has the same water composition as the hell hot springs in Beppu that I visited recently. It was good water. After the bath, I wanted to eat something. The dining area was supposed to open at 10 a.m., but even after 10, it didn't seem like it was going to open. When I asked at the bath, they casually said, "Maybe around 10:30?" So, I had some milk. I don't drink flavored milk, just regular milk. Milk after a bath is always healthy and good. Megmilk is a representative of Hokkaido, so I happily drank it. But since I read that it's produced in Ibaraki Prefecture, my excitement has dropped a bit.

▼Location▼ If you enter the road next to the Yamoka family from National Route 12 and climb about 1.2 km, you will find it on the left side. ▼About the shop▼ Takasago Onsen HP is a lodging facility established in 1965 (Showa 40) located on Takasago-dai in Asahikawa. It is a hot spring facility that was once famous for its Showa-like atmosphere and "bath department store," even appearing in commercials. There is a dining area called Kasumi Shokudo inside. ▼Menu▼ At Kasumi Shokudo, they offer rice bowls, curry, ramen, side dishes, and drinks. ▼What I ate▼ ▽Soy Sauce Chashu Ramen 800 yen (coupon special price) It's a Chashu noodle, but the visual of the ramen is a bit lacking. The soup is a combination of animal and seafood flavors unique to Asahikawa, with a strong fish taste, but overall, it lacks richness. The noodles are slightly thin curly Asahikawa noodles, cooked well. The Chashu is rolled and has a slightly strong flavor while being tender, but the portion is moderate. ▽Soft Serve Ice Cream 250 yen (coupon special price) It's a type of soft serve with a bit of viscosity, with a good level of sweetness and milkiness. A simple and delicious soft serve ice cream. ▼Impressions▼ Takasago Onsen is a well-known hot spring facility located on Takasago-dai in Asahikawa, familiar to local residents through TV commercials. Both day trips and overnight stays are possible. The entire facility, including the hot springs, has a retro Showa atmosphere. This time, I visited with a Ponpare coupon that included bathing fee, rental towel, meal, and soft serve set for 950 yen instead of 1900 yen. I had always wanted to visit Takasago Onsen, so I took the opportunity when I visited Asahikawa after New Year's. The baths indeed had a nostalgic Showa leisure feel and were quite interesting. As for the food, the ramen was okay. It wasn't bad. The only downside was that the dining area didn't open on time, and there were times when there was no one at the front desk. The service was not bad, but they could improve on that aspect.
