Visited Aeon Motomachi store for the first time in April 2021 and tried our family's go-to easy meal series on a holiday. Normally, we would go to "Wako" for tonkatsu, but today we decided to get it from Aeon. It's been a while since we last fried tonkatsu at home. Lately, we've found that buying and reheating tonkatsu as part of our easy meal series isn't so bad. It saves us the hassle of preparing for frying. We got the "Aged Pork Cutlet" for 355 yen, which seemed to be a special deal. Tonkatsu is always made with pork loin. My husband doesn't like fatty meat, but he still buys pork loin for tonkatsu. The middle portion is for my husband, and the edges are for me (laughs). We also got the "Horse Mackerel Fry" for 223 yen, another staple in our household. Whenever it's available, we can't resist getting horse mackerel fry. I like to eat it with soy sauce and mustard, while my husband prefers it with the tartar sauce from Kaldi. Overall, the tonkatsu from the specialty shop was not bad at all.

On a certain weekday, I stopped by a takeout tonkatsu shop in Aeon Motomachi on my way home from work. The shop is located near the main entrance, with a display of bento boxes and fried items. From the menu that day, I chose the "Three-Element Pork (464 yen)" after considering the price. When I got home and reheated it, I couldn't really tell the benefits of the three-element pork, but considering the level of purchasing from a place like this, the sweetness of the fat was quite good. The "Shrimp Fry (150 yen)" had a crispy, dark brown batter that wasn't too heavy, and it paired well with the sweet sauce. The "Minced Cutlet (145 yen)" had a strong meat flavor, but personally, eating minced cutlet always gives me heartburn afterwards. Oh, it's not the minced cutlet's fault though... Lastly, the "Horse Mackerel Fry (237 yen)" was a large and thick piece that was satisfying to eat, but after eating tonkatsu and then this, I felt like I was losing to aging and almost couldn't handle the oiliness. But as a standalone item, it was just a normal and tasty piece. I suddenly realized that I need to consider the number of items I order, considering my age... Thank you for the meal.

I visited for lunch. This place is located inside AEON Sapporo Motomachi store. They make the food after you order, so you can enjoy it freshly made!! This time, I ordered the "Special Bento". I quickly returned to the office and had it. It's great that there are lots of fried foods included - shrimp fry, chicken cutlet, bite-sized fish cutlet, and pork cutlet. It's a satisfying portion!! And it's crispy and delicious when freshly made♫ Maybe it's better to get extra rice for a good balance! I would like to come back to buy again. Thank you for the meal٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

When it gets hot, the symptoms worsen, it is a designated rare disease by the government. As we entered November, the heating in hospitals and various commercial facilities caused discomfort due to the high temperatures. Unfortunately, there is still no medication that suits me. Likes and comments may be delayed, so thank you for your understanding. In December 2019, I visited "Aeon Sapporo Motomachi Shopping Center" for the first time in years. There have been significant changes in the specialty shops on the first floor since my last visit. A new addition was "Ton Yoshi" which was not there before. "Ton Yoshi" is a local tonkatsu specialty restaurant in Sapporo. There are around seven stores in Sapporo, with both dining and take-out options. The "Aeon Sapporo Motomachi store" is a take-out only store. The dining store offers reasonably priced lunch menus and thick and delicious tonkatsu that takes 15 to 20 minutes to fry. I visited for lunch with my usual companion. This store is located in the Motomachi area of Higashi-ku, Sapporo, on the first floor specialty shops of Aeon Sapporo Motomachi store near the subway Toho Line "Shindo Higashi Station". For more detailed location information, please check on Tabelog. It was around 12:00 pm on a weekday when I visited. Perhaps due to the weekday, the Aeon was not crowded with customers. It was the opposite of the weekend rush. Inside the store, there were fried foods such as tonkatsu, fry, and menchi-katsu. There were also a few bento boxes. The recommended item of the day was the "Aged Pork Cutlet 100g". It was priced at 410 yen tax-inclusive but was discounted to 356 yen, so I bought it. (laughs) At "Ton Yoshi Aeon Sapporo Motomachi store", you get a 100g shredded cabbage for free with purchases over 500 yen. I also bought the "Menchi-katsu". (laughs) ■ Aged Pork Cutlet 100g Recommended item of the day The tonkatsu coating is crispy and light, and the meat quality is quite good. Price 410 yen → 356 yen (tax included) ■ Menchi-katsu Weight: Actual measurement 75g (after deducting the windbag) The menchi-katsu coating is crispy and light, and the meaty flavor is delicious. The coating has a hint of herbs, giving it a subtle and pleasant flavor. Price 186 yen (tax included) ■ Free item Shredded cabbage 100g Two large containers of sauce Tonkatsu from a tonkatsu restaurant is different. The tonkatsu sauce also has a good taste. Both coatings are crispy and refreshing. As a take-out side dish, it is of a high quality. The texture when chewed is very good. I am very happy with the free service of "shredded cabbage". It is a great help for someone like me. (laughs) Of course, it is eligible for point accumulation. Next time, I wonder if I should go for the tonkatsu or another fried dish. It was delicious, thank you for the meal.

Today, I decided to have a bento box for dinner! After some hesitation, I tried Ton-Yoshi for the first time. I always noticed it when I went to Motomachi AEON, but I thought it was expensive so I ignored it. However, upon closer inspection, I found that they have some affordable menu options! I thought everything was in the 1000 yen range, but it turns out... I ordered a Sauce Katsu Don (670 yen excluding tax) for myself, and a Mixed Katsu Bento (960 yen excluding tax) for my boyfriend. I chose the Sauce Katsu Don for its affordability, but when I tried it, the portion was huge! The katsu was crispy and juicy. The ratio of katsu to rice was just right. The Mixed Katsu Bento, on the other hand, was a bit pricey in my opinion. But it was a good amount of food for my boyfriend's dinner. Just be aware that you may have to wait around 10 minutes. In conclusion, if you're going to Ton-Yoshi, "Katsuya" might be a better choice. It's cheaper and tastes just as good, maybe even better. Why not try comparing them yourself?

I went shopping at Ion, so I decided to have the bento I bought here for lunch! Katsu curry! When I ordered, I requested freshly fried katsu, and they made it for me. The slightly salty curry goes well with the katsu! It feels like the curry was made specifically for the katsu curry. The katsu is also big and satisfying. It's delicious, as expected from a katsu specialty shop! The portion size is also satisfying! Thank you for the meal! I will come again!

I always used to pass by, but I wanted to eat freshly made tonkatsu so I decided to visit. There were many menu options to choose from, but I decided to buy the "Volume Katsu Bento". I waited for about 3 minutes and got the freshly made bento to go. It had chicken katsu, menchi katsu, and pork katsu, so it was very filling. However, the amount of rice was a bit small for the amount of katsu. I would have preferred a larger portion of rice to go with the katsu. Thank you for the meal.

Welcome! The food court in the New Road East area of Higashi-ku, Sapporo Motomachi Aeon, has been renovated. It's crowded even on weekdays. They offer a variety of take-out cutlets and fried foods, as well as bento boxes. It's hard to choose, but you have to go for the top-quality meat. They prepare it fresh, so you have to wait a bit, but it's worth it. I got a pork cutlet bento. The crispy coating and the delicious meat are amazing. It's simple with cabbage, red onions, and pickles. The sauce is special and fruity, perfect for sprinkling with salt. The portion is generous, so it's quite filling. It's great for families looking for an extra dish for dinner. Thank you, it was delicious.

It's been a long time since I came to Sapporo. It's not because it's a new year, but I was invited for my grandchild's birthday. I arrived early, so I decided to stop by "Ton'yoshi" at the Aeon Motomachi store. The name of the restaurant has a meaning, right? I'm not a fan of tonkatsu, but since it's cheap, I went for the 380 yen three-layer pork loin cutlet. The packaging looks like a typical tonkatsu place. The tonkatsu wasn't as fatty as I expected, but it was decent. The texture was not too crispy, and the smell was not bad. Overall, it was not bad, but it could have had a bit more fat.

Today is the first day of my two-day weekend, yay! Continuing from my previous post about AEON Sapporo Motomachi store. This time, I tried "Tonyoshi" which I have bought from a few times. They had a special offer today, so I ordered two pieces of pork cutlet skewers for 170 yen each. It was cheap for three-grade pork. However, the texture of the batter was not to my liking - it was too soggy and the breadcrumbs were too overpowering. The pork itself was average. I apologize for not posting a photo. It's a popular restaurant, so keep up the good work! Thank you for the meal!

On a Sunday stroll in the city, I arrived at the area around Motomachi Station on the Toho Subway Line. The restaurant I had in mind seemed to be affected by the pandemic, as it had a sign saying "Temporarily Closed." It's frustrating, but I've started to get used to it. It's difficult to find information about these temporary closures online, so the best defense is probably to call ahead before visiting. Despite the advancement of technology, analog methods like this seem to be more reliable in the end.
In a world dominated by social media like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, I've noticed that some businesses neglect their own websites after a few months. It would be better not to bother creating them in the first place if they're not going to be updated regularly.
I passed by a restaurant called "Tonyoshi" and saw a sign advertising their special offer of "Pork Cutlet, 520 yen ⇒ 460 yen." I couldn't resist buying it, probably because of my food blogger tendencies. I originally planned to take it home, but I realized that fried foods tend to leave a strong smell in my backpack. So, I decided to eat it at the food court instead.
It was my first time eating tonkatsu without rice or alcohol. The lightly breaded cutlet was tender and easy to eat, but it felt a bit plain. I couldn't help but think it would be perfect as a tonkatsu sandwich or with curry. I also missed having some mustard with it. I actually enjoy eating tonkatsu with soy sauce, but that wasn't an option here. I learned that tonkatsu is best enjoyed with something else, not just on its own.
Overall, it was a decent meal, but I realized that tonkatsu is not meant to be eaten as a standalone dish. Thank you for the meal.
