【Takeout】The only supermarket chain in Japan that is nationwide is the Aeon Group, with 9 domestic and 4 overseas entities. The first store is MaxValu Esashi in Iwate Prefecture. This particular store is located in the Maruyama area of Sapporo's Chuo Ward, directly connected to a subway station in a commercial facility called Maruyama Class. The store is situated in block South 1 West 27, between Odori and South 1 Jo streets, directly connected to the Tozai Line's Maruyama Koen Station. On June 12, 2022, a little after 11 AM, I revisited the store for the second time this year and was able to take photos of the Ezo squirrels. This marks about 20 years of consecutive visits. The number of squirrels seems to be decreasing, possibly due to an increase in hikers on the mountain and the growing population of crows near the summit. On my way back, I bought some deli items for a review. I got a chicken meatball with melty cheese for 168 yen, a two-layered fluffy minced cutlet for 118 yen, and a tofu hamburger steak from Kakiyasu for 198 yen. After a 5% general discount and an 8% consumption tax, I enjoyed the flavors of these items, which were easy to eat and delicious. After finishing my shopping, I met up with my fellow reviewer and enjoyed a buffet together.

I don't usually use the "MaxValu Maruya Aclass Store" because it's a bit far from my home, but I visit it a few times a month to buy meat and fish. I often buy a lot of meat and freeze it. My usual routine is to visit the store around 5:30-6:00 pm and take advantage of the time sale items. The beef section offers high-quality meat at discounted prices, especially the Angus beef shoulder roast, Tasmanian beef thigh, and Daippeiran pork. The Angus beef shoulder roast is perfect for steak, with a good texture and flavor. The Tasmanian beef thigh is great for roast beef, and the Daippeiran pork is delicious for ginger pork. I also bought a sashimi assortment at half price, which I used to make chirashi sushi. The store offers other meat for yakiniku at discounted prices depending on the time of day. I will visit again. I explored the area near Maruyama to prepare for a wine club event and bought some snacks. I was able to purchase donuts and bagels from Fwamochi-tei at MaxValu in Maruyama. They had a good stock that day, so I was really lucky! I bought two donuts and two bagels. It's hard to find these snacks on the west side of Sapporo, so I'm really grateful that this supermarket sells them. I had them at a wine event and they were delicious. The bagels were chewy and the donuts were rich. It might be a bit heavy when paired with wine, but having different flavors as the main dish makes it enjoyable. It would be great if supermarkets could sell a variety of bread from different places. Thank you for the meal!

I was so happy with the discounted items. I felt like eating sashimi, so I decided to visit around 8:30 pm on a weekday, and... what a great deal!! It was luxurious and delicious. They provide free wasabi, but not ginger. The sashimi was fresh and each slice was large, so I was completely satisfied with the boat platter!
