Located inside Aeon Chitose, they pack and seal your order for you, and payment is made at the food section register. I later realized that it is a famous "Sazae" shop. I ordered three kinds of Tokachi Daimyo oyaki: soy milk, custard cream, and Tokachi red bean. The total for three was 365 yen, but I forgot to ask for individual prices. The soy milk cream was a bit more expensive. I also got a Guarana cola. The prices may be slightly higher compared to what you find in town, but it was delicious.

"Sazae Shokuhin is known for its lineup of products such as Tokachi Ohagi, Sekihan, Onigiri, Daifuku, and Dango. They also offer a variety of regular bento boxes. The one I tried this time was the 'Yokubari Bento,' which is a kind of Makunouchi bento with a wide variety of side dishes on top of the rice. The standout item was the tempura shrimp on top of the rice, but there were also meatballs, red sausages, tamagoyaki, fried fish, potato salad, and simmered vegetables. Just looking at it was enjoyable with so many different side dishes. In terms of taste, it was decent, similar to bento boxes you might find in the deli section of a supermarket. The store at Aeon Chitose opens early, making it a good option for breakfast as well."

I went to Sazae on the first floor of Aeon in Chitose before 8 pm on a weekday. My goal was to buy oyaki, which was sold in packs of 2. There are 4 main types of oyaki: anko (red bean paste), cream, and soy milk cream with red bean paste. I think there was also a strawberry flavor that day, but I'm not sure. I bought the soy milk cream with red bean paste (labeled as soy milk). It has layers of red bean paste and soy milk cream. I wish I could have eaten it freshly baked, but it's hard to catch the opening time in the morning. It's recommended to lightly microwave it when you get home. You can also put it in the toaster for a bit. The soy milk oyaki from Sazae is my favorite.

In September 2018, one popular option for skewered dumplings is the "Four-Flavor Dumpling," which offers soy sauce, red bean paste, sesame, and sweet red bean paste all in one dumpling. This unique dish allows you to enjoy four different flavors in just one skewer. Sazae Food is known for its "Tokachi Ohagi" and also offers a variety of other traditional Japanese sweets like red rice, onigiri, and bento boxes. They have both sweet red bean and regular red bean options for their red rice, catering to different preferences. While I have mainly tried their ohagi and red rice in the past, I am interested in trying out their bento boxes when I have the chance.

I bought dinner at Ion in January 2016. I got the beef rice bowl for 572 yen. It had a strong flavor, but I enjoyed it and finished it all in one go. The sweet omelette was also delicious. I regretted not buying something sweet to go with it. Overall, it was a tasty meal. In January 2013, I had lunch at Ion and decided to buy dinner as well. I visited Sazae for the first time. I had always passed by the shop but never bought anything before. I thought Sazae only sold ohagi, but they had a variety of bento boxes and Japanese sweets. I was impressed by the selection. I ended up choosing a delicious rice ball with salmon roe and a slightly salty manju with sweet red bean paste. I love sweet treats, especially Japanese ones. The salty manju was small but had a nice balance of sweetness and saltiness. It was a satisfying meal.

"Sazae-san" in AEON Chitose is always crowded. It is located between Beard Papa Chitose and Tsukiji Gindako AEON Chitose, but you have to go around to the back to enter the employee entrance, so you can't see the products without circling around (laughs). It would be convenient if you could buy from either side. You can also purchase at the AEON Chitose register, but there are no special discounts or benefits. It was during the year-end sale at AEON, so it was even more crowded than usual, with lots of people and even barking dogs at the register. The Sazae-san corner was also crowded with housewives, so I quickly grabbed some items from an open spot and lined up at the less crowded AEON register to make my purchase. I had it for breakfast the next morning after buying it. I had mistakenly thought it was for lunch, so the portion was too much for breakfast, but there was no choice. The fried tofu was quite sweet. I prefer it to be a bit more refreshing. The rice was firm, which I like. It may be a bit watery due to the time that had passed. If I have the opportunity, I would like to carefully choose and purchase it. The red color in the image is from a large amount of pickled ginger, which I don't like, so I left it behind."

This long weekend has been rainy all the time. Eating out can be expensive. But staying in the kitchen all day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner is also not ideal. So I bought some onigiri from Sazae in the Aeon mall in Chitose. Well, the Aeon mall on holidays is quite something. The items I purchased were Inaba Cheese Chicken Cutlet, Chikuwa Roll, Salmon Roe, Soy Sauce Salmon Roe, Crispy Plum, and Shrimp Tempura. Inaba Cheese Chicken Cutlet... My husband's eyes were glued to it! When we tried it, the sauce wasn't too heavy and it was delicious. Soy Sauce Salmon Roe... There's plenty of salmon roe, and no matter where you bite, it's delicious. Chikuwa Roll... A whole chikuwa is inside. It's filled with tuna mayo and very tasty. Salmon Roe... Like the salmon roe, it's delicious no matter where you bite. Crispy Plum... The texture of the plum is irresistible. It goes perfectly with sesame! It's the most reassuring taste. Shrimp Tempura... The shrimp is firm and delicious. Next time, I would like to try the sushi rolls and bento boxes. Thank you for the meal.

This is a shop located in Aeon Chitose. They are famous for their Tokachi Ohagi. They also have manju and other sweets available. The Ohagi has just the right softness in the rice with a not too sweet taste, making it delicious. In addition to sweets, they also sell several types of bento boxes. The Tempura Tenmusu with shrimp tempura is around 200 yen (price may vary during sales). The tempura sauce soaked into the rice was very tasty. The shrimp inside was relatively large and the tempura wasn't too oily, so even though it's a large onigiri, it was easy to eat one.

In Hokkaido, when you hear "sazae," it's not the character Sazae-san, but Sazae food products. They sell delicious items like imagawayaki, dango, onigiri, and dorayaki. Today, I bought an imagawayaki (cream-filled) and it was really delicious. Imagawayaki comes in red bean paste, sweet bean paste, cream, and they are all delicious. Depending on the region, it may be called taiyaki, imagawayaki, or taiyaki. This is just my personal diary, so the ratings and comments may not be reliable.

I visited the store at 1:10 pm on this day, wondering what to buy. I decided to purchase the recommended new release, the matcha and kinako (roasted soybean flour) ohagi. The staff member was a friendly girl. When I returned home, my wife quickly spotted it and took a bite. It was delicious! Matcha and kinako ohagi for 162 yen. Thank you for the meal! (^^)v

After taking care of some business at the airport, I stopped by Aeon Chitose store to buy dinner ingredients before heading home. I wandered around and got a bit hungry, so I decided to buy a snack here. I saw a poster for a special Father's Day sushi roll that I wanted to try, but they weren't selling it. Maybe they only sell it on Father's Day? If I remember next year, I'd love to try it. I ended up buying "oyaki" and "salt inari" with some bread and ate them at home. The salt inari had a crispy plum mixed into the vinegared rice, making it refreshing and delicious. I didn't ask for it, but the oyaki had a "thank you" stamp on it, which seems to be common this time of year. I really enjoyed it, so I'll definitely buy it again from another store. Thank you, Aeon Chitose store!
