I happened to stay at this hotel instead of my usual one due to a reservation issue. Since there didn't seem to be any restaurants nearby, I reluctantly had dinner at the hotel's restaurant. I was torn between the charcoal-grilled pork bowl and the hot plate Genghis Khan set, but I chose the latter because it seemed to take less time. It was okay tasty, but at 1,500 yen, I probably wouldn't eat it if it was for personal reasons. It tasted good, similar to M Jin's sheep meat and vegetable stir-fry, but the rice wasn't hot and there were some dry, clumpy grains mixed in, which was disappointing. To my dismay, I realized later that there was a Western-style restaurant, M Hon, not far away if I had just driven a bit further! Ah, what a mistake... I regret it.

The hot spring facility has a covered outdoor bath, indoor baths including a water jet bath, bubble bath, radon spring, and cold water bath. The sauna has a lower temperature and no TV, but there are sauna mats available. The entrance fee is 530 yen. The showers have a push-button type that releases water for about 3 seconds. The restaurant's pork bowl is said to be delicious, so I would like to try it sometime. This time, I tried the black honey kinako mochi sold at the entrance. They also sell Iwaiwa Ranch's ice cream and other unique souvenirs that you can't find elsewhere.

This year's New Year's Eve was quiet and impressive due to the coronavirus pandemic, so I visited for the first time. This is a municipal hot spring inn, but in addition to the main day trip option, they also offered a special New Year's plan for a limited time at the end of the year and the beginning of the year, which caught my interest. The inn itself feels a bit old-fashioned, but it is clean including the rooms, so it doesn't give off a bad vibe. The highlight was the dinner, with a selection of dishes that made me feel the New Year spirit, such as crab hot pot, hitsumabushi, and New Year's soba, which left me feeling satisfied. The breakfast the next day also included New Year's menu items like black beans, chestnut sweet potatoes, datemaki, and simmered dishes, with ozoni (New Year's soup) as well, so I was fully immersed in the New Year atmosphere. Considering the content provided and the fact that it was a stay during the New Year's Eve, the price of just over 10,000 yen per person is quite reasonable, even for a municipal facility. The staff put effort into making things by hand, which made me feel warm and fuzzy. The hot spring water was also nice, so I would like to visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

The town of Atsuma in Hokkaido suffered a major blow from the earthquake. This year, I visited Hokkaido for the first time to see the horses. A friend suggested visiting Atsuma town. Honestly, I don't usually stop by this town for horse viewing, as I often visit nearby towns like Chitose and Asahikawa, and sometimes head towards Hidaka. I knew the name of the town but only passed through it. I visit horse farms regularly and was running out of lunch ideas, so I wanted to spend some money in a town that had been affected. I stopped by a day-use hot spring facility for a meal. I didn't have time to soak in the hot spring, so I just had lunch. There was no entrance fee if you didn't use the hot spring. I entered the facility as soon as it opened. The place quickly filled up with visitors. Surprisingly popular place! They offered typical dishes like soba and ramen, but I ordered the pork bowl made with local pork. I ordered the large size, and it seemed like it took a while to prepare, as if they were grilling it from scratch. Dishes like Genghis Khan set meals came out quickly, so if you're short on time, I recommend something else. The large size had a huge amount of rice and pork. The fragrant pork was piled high like a mountain. The taste was relatively salty, with a small amount of sauce, but they also provided a soy sauce dip on the side. The difference in price between the large and regular sizes was 500 yen. The price was 1.5 times more, but the portion seemed like it was double the size! Recommended for those who want to eat a lot. I managed to finish it without leaving any leftovers. The pork from Atsuma town was delicious!

I visited Kobushinoyu Atsumasan for the first time on a hot spring tour. On the way there, I noticed the lingering effects of the earthquake in various places, with recovery work still ongoing. I hope for a speedy recovery. The facility itself didn't look very new, but both the indoor and outdoor baths were clean and pleasant! After relaxing in the bath, I looked at the local vegetables and specialty products being sold near the entrance, and bought some locally grown Delaware grapes. They were only 200 yen, cheaper than usual! Local fruits are fresh and delicious. Thank you, Kobushinoyu, for a wonderful experience!

In late August 2019. Did you enjoy your day yesterday? I chose to stay at the Kobushi no Yuatsuma in Atsuma. I had breakfast there. A traditional Japanese meal was prepared for guests in the space of the restaurant Kobushi. The breakfast was good. The rice was served in a wooden tub, and I ended up finishing it all. However, I wanted more miso soup, so I had a refill. The ingredients in the refill miso soup subtly changed, which was a nice touch. I made a reservation directly by phone (since my usual hotel booking websites didn't have accommodations in Atsuma, so I searched online). I thought it was around 5000 yen for one night with breakfast included. Thank you for your hospitality. Thank you. It was a delicious meal. It was a very homely dinner. We had potato and green bean pork stew, stir-fried shiitake mushrooms and spinach, chawanmushi, and chicken sauté. It felt like a home-cooked meal with cabbage and mayonnaise. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

My partner and I stopped by on our way back from Tomakawa. It was my first time stopping here, even though we always pass by on our bike. This place was also quite damaged during the earthquake, and the outdoor baths were still not usable. This place is known for its radon hot springs, which are said to be beneficial for the body. Have you heard of radon hot springs? When you soak in the hot springs, it is said to release toxins from your body, and then you can enjoy some tofu after bathing. The tofu is made at a supported employment facility in Atsuma Town, and it's only available for purchase within the town. They have various flavors like yuzu and sesame. Let's try the plain tofu. It's made from soybeans and is quite simple, maybe a bit of soy sauce would make it better. It comes in a small cup, which makes it easy to eat after soaking in the hot springs. This place also serves a special Atsuma pork bowl that I want to try next time. Now that we're warmed up, let's be careful on our way back. I might get sleepy soon.

Due to the impact of the earthquake, this facility has reopened on 11/1. The outdoor baths are still unavailable, but the radon spring jets are strong and feel great. After soaking, you can relax by buying an Irohasu from the vending machine and taking a break in the rest area. It must have been tough these past two months. Elderly people are napping and snoring, looking so comfortable. Bathing costs 520 yen, mini tomatoes are 200 yen, and drinks are 140 yen. Thank you for the meal! (^^)v

"Kobushi no Yu" is a public hot spring facility located in Atsuma Town. It is loved by the townspeople and attracts many tourists on weekends and holidays. Despite being known for the Eastern Iburi Earthquake, I have visited this facility several times even before the earthquake and have stayed here a few times as well. The town is rich in nature, the locals are very kind, and there are many delicious foods available, making it a very nice town in my opinion. The hot springs and rooms are kept clean, and I had no stress related to my stay. I have not had dinner at this hotel, but the breakfast menu is well-balanced and provides the energy needed for the day's work. The pork bowl served at the restaurant is quite delicious, so instead of the banquet menu for dinner, it might be a good idea to order what you like. As a recommended hotel for sightseeing in Atsuma Town, which is full of delicious things, it is a great base.

I heard about the reputation of the pork bowl and decided to visit. It was lunchtime and the restaurant was almost full. I ordered the pork bowl and my companion ordered the spaghetti with menchi-katsu. The pork bowl had lean pork loin with almost no fat, and I ordered the regular size which was actually a large portion for 1200 yen. The flavor was a bit mild, so I added extra sauce when needed. The grilled flavor was nice, and the rice was delicious, surpassing the authentic taste of Hokkaido. The spaghetti with menchi-katsu had a unique Italian twist and was also delicious. Although I only tried two dishes, I believe other menu items would be just as good. I would definitely like to visit again.
