I went on a business trip to Hakodate. I always tried to go there but couldn't find parking, so I gave up. I was struggling to choose from the menu, which seemed to have around 100 items. Most of the classic dishes like ginger pork and tonkatsu were priced at less than 1000 yen. Since it was part of the Hakoya chain, I decided to go with the chef's choice seafood bowl for 1400 yen. The seafood selection varies depending on the day. When the bowl arrived, I was surprised by the generous amount of seafood. It had tuna toro, negitoro, salmon, white fish, mackerel, horse mackerel, and flying fish roe. Usually, I can't finish the rice, but this time the seafood was so plentiful that I almost ran out of rice. The freshness of the white fish was impressive. Thank you for the meal!

Having lunch at Ponpoko Tei. This is a newly opened restaurant this spring. It's a new branch of Hakoya, a well-known seafood izakaya. The interior of the restaurant is really spacious. The first floor has a counter and table seats, while the second floor has tatami seating. There is a large amount of Suntory Toki displayed at the counter. The atmosphere is like a highball izakaya. The menu includes their specialty seafood bowls, stylish dishes, and even Italian dishes that seem popular with women. I had the Kairan-don, which is a mackerel seafood bowl. The mackerel was fresh and delicious even before taking a bite. The amount of rice was packed tightly in the bowl, so it was quite filling. And just like Hakoya, the prices are reasonable. Thank you for the meal.

Recently opened set meal restaurant. It's quite popular, so the parking lot is full and the restaurant is often full too. The restaurant is operated by HAKOYA. This sashimi set meal is around a little over 1,000 yen, and they also have a seafood bowl for a similar price. There are many restaurants near Hakodate Station that sell at tourist prices, so some places charge unreasonably high prices. If you can come by car, this place is definitely better, haha.

This is Hacoya's new store. The place used to be a Okinawan restaurant with only one floor for seating, but it has been renovated and now it seems there is seating on the second floor as well. The store is too big and the menu is ridiculously extensive, making the operation seem quite difficult. I'm not a big fan of seafood bowls, so I tried ordering curry for 500 yen with fried chicken topping, but I should have just gone with the seafood bowl or sushi without hesitation. Despite the number of seats, there are few parking spaces, and it seems that the delivery service on Kirihana Street has been integrated into this place as well, with delivery cars parked around, making parking quite challenging when it's busy.
