For the New Year, I love to drink a slightly higher quality sake than usual, such as "Yamato Shizuku" Daiginjo in a 720ml bottle from Akita Seishu, Akita Prefecture, with a polishing ratio of 40%. It's not suitable for Osechi dishes though (*´-`)

The wide selection of products, helpful staff, and no need for a loyalty card make this place even better.

I regularly visit "Shichizo" and sometimes write reviews to boost the number of reviews haha. This time, the Japanese sake I tried was "Izumo Fuji" Junmai Daiginjo "Ameno Murakumo" (Heavenly Clouds) made by Fuji Shuzo in Shimane Prefecture. It is made from Yamada Nishiki rice polished to 35%. It is ranked 9th in the Shimane Prefecture sake ranking. It comes in a fancy wooden box. I usually don't like the Junmai Ginjo from "Izumo Fuji," but this one was highly recommended by someone, so I had to try it. I chilled it and took a sip. It has a moderate fruity flavor, rich and aromatic with a clear finish and a mild acidity and bitterness. It is really delicious! It's perfect for drinking chilled. I could easily finish a whole bottle of this. I really like "Izumo Fuji." I might try some other varieties that I haven't tried yet.

Sapporo City, Nishi 23, Minami 8. Close to the circular street and very close to Minami 9 street. There were two points of sake that I wanted to purchase (drink). In early June 2018, the arrival was announced on Facebook. However, due to the hectic workload, I couldn't visit the store. This sake shop actively promotes on social media, especially about Japanese sake. It's great to see more shops doing this. They not only introduce new products but also recommend sake with experienced staff. It's reassuring to buy Japanese sake here. This time, I was able to purchase both points safely, which I was prepared for them to be sold out. - ??? [Triple Question Mark] (Gunma/Machida Sakagura) Sake meter value, rice used, and polishing ratio are undisclosed. I knew about the two arrivals from Shichizo's website and Facebook. This time, during my visit, only a few 720ml bottles were left. Surprisingly, the price was 1k for a 720ml bottle and 2k for a 1.8L bottle, which is a great deal. Machida Sakagura is one of my favorite sake breweries. Taste impressions are also undisclosed. - Hagi no Tsuru Betsu-shikomi Junmai Ginjo (Miyagi/Hagino Sakagura) I also confirmed the arrival information on Facebook on June 1. It is nicknamed "Yuuroumi Neko" from the label. I drank the "Sakura Neko label" at an izakaya in Sendai in spring. This is the pasteurized version of that fresh sake. I'm glad there were still some left. I love cats, so it's a label purchase, but it's a delicious summer sake with a refreshing sweetness. I only know this store in Sapporo that sells Machida Sakagura and Hagino Sakagura products. While looking for the desired products, the owner lady? approached me. Her demeanor was gentle and the customer service was very pleasant. Hmm, I should have bought more ??? too. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Furutaro Izumi Junmai Ginjo, made in extreme cold conditions without adding yeast, using the traditional method of mountainous fermentation in wooden tanks and hand-pressed, is a smooth and mellow sake with a rich umami flavor. Before drinking, you can smell a fragrance reminiscent of watermelon and pear, and the flavor that lingers in your nose after drinking is like caramel. The initial aroma and retro-nasal aroma are both excellent. It has a mysterious combination of acidity and caramel aftertaste. I couldn't help but pour it into a large glass and enjoy it. The sweetness of the rice is well balanced, not too heavy, and the type with a strong acidity, which I personally find delicious and will definitely order again! Rich, rich, gulp...this is delicious! This is a collaborative product with Machida Sakagura. When you drink it, it has a smooth mouthfeel, but you can also feel a distinctive flavor and a sharp alcohol element. You can also sense the influence of the wooden barrel, but personally, I didn't find it to be a good match. Overall rating 4.0, taste 4.0, service 3.3, atmosphere 3.5, cost performance 3.3, drink 4.0. Located at 23-4-11 Minami 8 Jonishi, Chuo-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido. Sakoya Shichizo ☆☆☆ Next episode preview ☆☆☆ I find myself coming back regularly.

Chi Ebi Jin is a freshly squeezed pure rice sake with a smooth and fruity taste. It has a hint of sweetness, but as it reaches room temperature, the sweetness can become a bit overwhelming. I enjoyed this delicious sake at a reasonable price. It was a personal favorite for me. At Nana Kura, when buying wine, I go upstairs, but when buying sake, I browse on the first floor before making a purchase. Sapporo, Minami 8 Nishi 23. Close to the Circular Road. Just a short walk north from Minami 9 Street. I think there are several liquor stores in Sapporo that have a strong passion for sake and have good quality control (refrigeration, etc.) through their dealings with sake breweries. This store is one of them. They carry my favorite sake from Machida Shuzo. I visited on a weekday afternoon. I don't usually drink sake at home, mainly enjoying it at izakayas with a wide selection of sake. So I usually buy small bottles that I can finish in a short period. Many are priced around 1000 yen. This time, I bought something I had never tried before. I purchased Ibuki Junmai (Fukushima/Toyokuni Shuzo). Simple yet powerful label. It has a rich sweetness and is very full-bodied. The four-bottle size was around 1200 yen. Good value for money. This shop also has a second floor with a wide selection of sake and a stylish interior. It's very cozy. They also have a variety of sake vessels on display. They are active on social media with frequent updates. Great experience. Thank you for the meal.

I tried a different type of sake this time at my monthly sake purchasing event. I usually stick to the same brand, but this time I decided to try a Junmai sake that I haven't had before. I visited "Nanakura" and tried "Yamato Shizuku" (Junmai) from Akita Prefecture, polished to 60%, priced at 2,200 yen. It was sweeter than the Junmai Ginjo I usually drink, but it seemed to pair well with food. The taste was quite similar to what I'm used to, and I started to think that I could get used to this one too. Next, I tried "Jokigen" (Junmai) from Yamagata Prefecture, brewed by Sakata Shuzo, polished to 60%, priced at 2,400 yen. I have only had this sake a few times at restaurants, so it was my first time purchasing it for home consumption. It had a clean, clear taste with little sweetness, almost like water. It was straightforward and dry, with a slight acidity when first opened, but it mellowed out over time. While it's not my favorite, I think it would go well with light dishes like sashimi.

Limited quantity Maruta Special Junmai Unfiltered Namagenshu, also known as Pin Maru or Pink Maruta, is a special junmai sake that uses yeast from the Association No. 9 series, giving it a supple aroma reminiscent of green apple and banana. Despite its high alcohol content, it is smooth, easy to drink, and delicious. I had it a year ago at Sushi Sho in Susukino and had been planning to buy and try it myself. When I finally did, it was just as delicious! It disappeared in no time, leaving me wanting to go buy more.

I purchased some Ponshu (Japanese sake) for home use from my usual sake shop "Shichizo." This time, I received "Niseko" (Special Junmai) Ginpu 100%, polished to 60%. I have received "Niseko" quite a few times recently, but this is my first time trying the Special Junmai. It has a rich taste like a Ginjo sake, with a good sharpness and a clean finish. The price is in the 2,000 yen range, making it quite cost-effective. The same brand also offers a "Junmai Daiginjo" for under 4,000 yen, which is a great deal. It is relatively easy to find in Sapporo and is suitable for everyday drinking or as an introduction to Japanese sake. Another recommended brand for beginners is "Rumiko no Sake" (Special Junmai) made with Yamada Nishiki rice polished to 22% and Hitogokochi rice polished to 77%. This sake has gained popularity recently and has a cute label, but the taste is robust and of high quality. It is sharp and aromatic but not overpowering, offering great value for a sake in the 2,000 yen range. It can be enjoyed chilled or warmed, but I personally recommend it at room temperature to slightly warm.

I ran out of my usual home-brewed sake, so this time I decided to try something a bit nicer. I purchased "Dewazakura, Yukimanman" Daiginjo from Dewazakura Sake Brewery in Yamagata Prefecture. It has a polishing ratio of 45% and is a bit different from what I'm used to. It starts off with a mild sweetness and a refreshing taste, but it has a slightly strange aftertaste that I'm not a fan of. Apparently, it was featured as a premium sake in the manga "Oishinbo". Next, I tried "Premium" Junmai Daiginjo from Machida Sake Brewery in Hyogo Prefecture. With a polishing ratio of 35%, this series from Machida Sake Brewery has always impressed me, especially their "Max Daiginjo". This Junmai Daiginjo is polished to 35% and has a great sharpness and a perfect balance of aroma and sweetness. It's a really good sake that made me exclaim "Delicious!". I also had "Yokoyama Goju" Junmai Daiginjo from Mokke Sake Brewery in Nagasaki Prefecture. I've tried this one several times before, and it has the typical rich sweetness of "Yamada" sake, with a slightly sharp aftertaste and a floral aroma. It's a top-ranked sake in Nagasaki, and I personally prefer the black label over the white one. Lastly, I enjoyed "Chiebijin" Junmai Daiginjo from Nakano Sake Brewery in Oita Prefecture. This is a staple in my house, but I only get to enjoy this Junmai Daiginjo once or twice a year. It has a slightly sweet taste that is surprisingly easy to drink, almost like white wine. It's a mysterious sake that can be enjoyed by women.

It was a familiar liquor store that I often visited, but it was finally listed on Tabelog. It's the sake store Shichizo of Tsuhata Shoten, a company I've been relying on for a long time. I didn't plan on writing a review, but since it's now on Tabelog, I'll give a brief introduction. They sell a sharp and dry Kaga Tobishiro pure rice sake made with low-temperature fermentation, which goes well with fish dishes. I buy many other types of sake from them as well. They always have a wide variety of products in store and offer a rich selection of good sake. You can enjoy a high level of satisfaction with their wines, shochu, sake, and more. But I won't go into details here (^^;; Overall rating 4.0 Taste 4.0 Service 3.3 Atmosphere 3.5 Cost performance 3.0 Drinks 4.0 Location: 4-11 Minami 8 Jonishi, Chuo-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido Shichizo Sake Store ☆☆☆ Preview for the next episode ☆☆☆ I might include some old photos from last year.

I have been relying on this liquor store for the past few years. I often purchase Japanese sake here, with my favorites being "Yamato Shizuku," "Kariho," "Da Shinshu," and "Chiebijin." They have a range of sake priced from 1,700 yen to 3,000 yen, making it easy to find affordable and delicious sake. The store is clean, the staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and there is parking available in front of the store, making it convenient for those arriving by car. While I don't usually buy anything other than Japanese sake, they also have a good selection of wine, shochu, and plum wine.

My husband and I, who love sake, were looking for a good liquor store and came across this one through an online search. The selection of sake was interesting, and we were grateful to find Hokkaido sake as we are from out of town. We ended up getting two bottles of sake in 720ml size. I was surprised to see flyers for common events placed next to the register, which is related to my job. It felt like a familiar shop. I think we'll be coming here for our alcohol shopping from now on. Looking forward to visiting again in the future.

Recently, I have been enjoying the sake called "Chiebijin" from Nakano Shuzo brewery. It is named after the owner's wife, Chie, from when the brewery was first established. Their Junmai sake is famous, but one day I discovered a red tea plum liqueur which was quite delicious. It has an alcohol content of 7%, but you can hardly taste the alcohol. It goes down smoothly, even for those who are not good with alcohol. When I searched online, I found a Lemon Tea Liqueur from the same Chiebijin brand, available at Kokushu-zo. It is made with Japanese lemon peel, juice, and brandy. I bought it right away. It has a higher alcohol content of 11% compared to the red tea plum liqueur. I enjoyed it on the rocks, and after finishing it, a rich brandy aroma lingered. It seems to be a summer-only product, but I wish they would offer it year-round. I also ended up buying the "Aragoshi Momo" from Umenoya Shuzo brewery's Aragoshi series, which is a sake-based drink with peach puree, giving it a thick and smooth texture. It has an alcohol content of 8%. They have a wide variety of products, including a premium aged Awamori that costs 61,000 yen. It's a delightful liquor store to visit, just looking around is enjoyable.
