I arrived at the restaurant a little before 1 pm, and the place was relatively empty, allowing me to enjoy a leisurely lunch. The food was delicious, with generous portions for the sushi and a wide variety of choices for the chirashi bowl. The service was also quick, with my meal served within 10 minutes of being seated.

I visited the restaurant around 7 pm on a regular day. It was a place I stumbled upon, but the appearance of the store seemed nice so I decided to go in. Due to the pandemic, the store closed at 8 pm, so I just made it in time. It was a clean sushi restaurant. I ordered the highest quality sushi set called "Kiribako". The eel was from the mainland, but the rest were all from Hokkaido. I also ordered the recommended vinegar-marinated sea cucumber. The sea cucumber arrived promptly and it was amazing. It had a crunchy texture and looked very fresh. I enjoyed it with the refreshing vinegar. I may have never eaten sea cucumber like this before. The sushi arrived after about 15 minutes. It was a beautiful and luxurious sight. There were a total of 12 pieces including snow crab, yellowtail (might be amberjack), flounder, fatty tuna, shrimp, herring roe, scallop, abalone, botan shrimp, conger eel, sea urchin, and salmon roe. It was quite a lavish display just by lining up the ingredients. Some of the memorable pieces include the flounder with shiso leaf underneath, which was refreshing yet had a strong sweetness. The shrimp had a crunchy texture and a sweet taste. The scallop was also sweet. The botan shrimp, salmon roe, and snow crab, famous Hokkaido specialties, were delicious. The sea urchin was from Rishiri, a luxurious item for this season. The fatty tuna and conger eel were also delicious. Each piece was meticulously prepared. Sushi tastes delicious when such careful work is done. The rice was a bit softer than my preference, but it was still very tasty. It was a restaurant I found by chance, but the atmosphere and taste were excellent. It's not just for tourists, nor exclusively for locals, but a welcoming place that serves delicious sushi. Thank you for the meal.

It was originally planned to go to the Italian restaurant next door, but it was closed, so I ended up here instead. The exterior and interior of the restaurant were clean and the counter was made of a solid piece of wood. I ordered the "Three Color Sushi", which consisted of three pieces each of tuna, marinated mackerel, and squid, for a total of nine pieces. I wondered why three colors and why this combination, but it all made sense when I tasted it. The menu photos were not very clear, so I ended up choosing this dish. The sushi was well-prepared. The miso soup was elegant, and the fish slices were thick but not too thick, with a good balance with the rice. The best part was the squid, which was delicious. I never thought fish would taste so good in Hokkaido, but it's definitely different when you dine at a proper restaurant.

Lunch for around 1,300 yen. The sushi rice is vinegared and on the larger side, with the temperature a bit on the warmer side. It feels like a lunch from a local sushi restaurant. The bara chirashi seems to be more popular.

Sushi lunch for 1404 yen. Visited a spacious restaurant with a clean atmosphere, and the counter was made of new wood with a pleasant scent. I was torn between the set menu and individual sushi, but opted for the individual sushi as it was cheaper. The sushi included squid, surf clam, salmon roe, tuna, amberjack, botan shrimp, and a cucumber roll with miso soup. The sushi pieces were large with firm rice, I prefer them to be softer. The ingredients were fresh and of good quality. The miso soup with shiitake mushrooms and mitsuba was delicious.

Located at Nishi 7-chome, Minami 1-jo, Chuo-ku, Sapporo. Facing west on the corner of a main street. Visited around 13:30 during lunchtime for the first time. Used to be in Asti. 6 customers before, 0 after. The interior is very well-kept and clean. There are 4 lunch menu options, 2 types of sushi and 2 types of rice bowls. Everyone around me is eating sushi. I ordered the chirashi sushi based on its appearance in the photo. It cost 1600 yen. Sushi with 7 pieces and a roll costs 1300 yen. The chirashi sushi is served, looking just like the photo. It has a generous amount of toppings, with tuna, amberjack (I think), sea bream, squid, salmon, surf clam, surf clam strip, scallop, squid tentacle, octopus, spot prawn, tamagoyaki, salmon again, mackerel, salmon roe, flying fish roe, and seaweed. Some of the sashimi is quite thick. The salmon is dripping with juices. The octopus has a matured flavor. I enjoyed the surf clam and salmon roe. The scallop was very delicious. Along with the chirashi sushi, a clear soup with neatly cut mushrooms and wheat gluten is served. It has a gentle flavor with a mild saltiness. The restaurant's elegant interior and beautifully presented dishes make for a visually stunning experience. Thank you for the meal.

Date and time: September 12, 2015 (Saturday) 1:30 pm - Located at Nishi 7-chome, Minami 1-jo, Chuo-ku, Sapporo. It's a sushi restaurant on the 1st floor of a building right next to Odori Park 7-chome. Across the street to the west, there was a sweets specialty school, if I remember correctly. Next to it was a strange Italian restaurant that didn't leave a good impression. This sushi restaurant caught my attention with its wooden exterior and traditional Japanese atmosphere. Today, I had planned to visit a Chinese restaurant, but unfortunately, it was closed on the day I visited. Disappointed, I noticed the menu at the entrance of the sushi restaurant and decided to give it a try. Upon entering, I was greeted by the owner's mother and seated at a table. The owner, dressed in a white coat, was relaxing at a nearby sofa table. The restaurant had a total of 8 counter seats facing the sushi chef, creating a pleasant non-smoking environment. The interior was simple and unpretentious, neither overly traditional nor overly upscale. When I requested sushi, the younger chef asked if I wanted the lunch set, which I confirmed. The sushi was prepared by the elderly owner, while the younger chef assisted. The lunch set included 7 pieces of nigiri sushi and 1 roll. The tuna had a rich flavor, the yellowtail was fresh, the mackerel was well-balanced, the shrimp was sweet, the surf clam was lightly cooked, the squid had a firm texture, and the salmon roe gunkan had a delicate taste. The roll was filled with a slightly sweet cucumber. Overall, the sushi was decent for the price, but nothing exceptional. The rice was a bit too soft for my liking. The miso soup had a light flavor with a hint of shiitake mushroom and Mitsuba leaf. After finishing the meal, I thanked the owner's mother and the young chef for their service. It's interesting how the personality of each sushi chef can influence the dining experience, even at the same restaurant.

The atmosphere here is conducive to good customer service. The place is clean, with a refreshing Japanese decor, and attention to detail in terms of temperature control and overall comfort, making it a high-quality space. While contemplating the chirashi bowl and lunch bowl, I opted for the 1,300 yen sushi set. The nigiri sushi was elegantly arranged on a plate, with each piece showcasing a generous size and unique presentation, with the maki rolls placed at the back. Although there are no premium ingredients, the thick-cut nigiri sushi pieces offer a satisfying eating experience. The sushi was well-made with a nice balance of rice and toppings. The set included 7 pieces of sushi, which may seem small in quantity but is filling and gentle on the stomach. The selection included tuna, yellowtail, mackerel, botan shrimp, surf clam, squid, salmon roll, and miso soup. The mackerel had a mild vinegar flavor and a satisfying thickness. The yellowtail, possibly amberjack, had a visually appealing thickness, and tasted quite delicious. The surf clam was fresh and flavorful, while the botan shrimp was tasty and satisfying. The squid was easy to eat and had a nice texture. Overall, the sushi set offered a good balance of flavors and textures, making it a satisfying meal. The restaurant's ambiance and the quality of the food left a positive impression.

Sapporo Minami 1-jo Nishi 7-chome, facing west. The nearest tram stop is Nishi 8-chome stop and the subway station is Nishi 11-chome. There is no parking, so you have to use a nearby coin parking. I was in the mood for Chinese food but ended up at a sushi restaurant. The restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere with a nice red curtain at the entrance. Despite looking a bit high-end from the outside, the lunch prices were reasonable. The staff greeted me warmly when I entered. It was before 1 pm on Saturday and there was one other customer at a table. I chose the lunch special, which was a chirashi bowl. The interior of the restaurant was clean and bright, with a nice wooden counter. The sushi chef prepared the chirashi bowl in front of me and it was served promptly. The chirashi bowl had a good amount of fresh seafood and the presentation was beautiful. The sushi rice was cooked using a special method called "jigoku-yaki". The overall dining experience was satisfying and the portion size was generous. The restaurant is smoke-free, which may be a downside for smokers. I later found out that the restaurant has been in business for 35 years. It's a hidden gem located a bit away from the main street.

I casually dropped by Sushi Toro. The store front is neat and clean. I started with a beer. A light marinated tuna was served as an appetizer. It's rare to have an appetizer for lunch, but it was delicious. The appetizer cost around 500 yen. For lunch, I ordered the assorted sushi for 1300 yen. Each piece was carefully made, with squid sandwiched between seaweed for a stylish touch. The ingredients were all neatly prepared. The lunch special of assorted sashimi for 1600 yen had a generous portion and felt like a special treat.

154th Sushi Restaurant Tour - Next to Shiseikan Elementary School, on the road leading towards the main street before Odori. I happened to come across this place while running once, so I decided to visit today. It seems like a cozy family-run sushi restaurant. Looking at the lunch menu, it seemed a bit pricey for lunch... I opted for the 1600 yen "Nama Chirashi" which looked like it had a generous amount of toppings. While sipping on tea, I waited for about 5 minutes. The tea was good quality powdered tea, which is important for a sushi restaurant. The "Nama Chirashi" arrived with a variety of toppings: 1. Squid, 2. Herring roe, 3. Surf clam, 4. Smelt fish, 5. Scallop, 6. Salmon roe, 7. Squid, 8. Octopus, 9. White fish, 10. Red salmon, 11. Fish cake, 12. Amberjack, 13. Flying fish, 14. Spot prawn, 15. Lean tuna, 16. Flounder, 17. Mackerel, 18. Egg. It looked like a treasure chest and the portion was quite large, leaving me super full. Received change in small bills. Service was a 0.5 point bonus. Got a flyer for a "Sushi Day Sushi Voucher Giveaway" on the way out.

This is a sushi restaurant that opened a few years ago in Nishi 8-chome, Odori District, Sapporo. The fact that their lunch sushi is over 1,000 yen indicates that they are not serving casual sushi, but rather authentic sushi. I finally had the chance to visit with some extra pocket money. I compared the lunch sets displayed on the signboard and found that the 1,300 yen set with 7 pieces of sushi and a roll seemed a bit lacking in variety. So, I decided to go for the 1,600 yen set which looked much more luxurious and satisfying. I sat at the counter and asked for the set. But wait, there's a big fish in front of me that looks like Shin-chan! Oh, it's not Shin-chan, it's an adult fish? The owner confirmed it was Shin-chan, but I had my doubts. The owner started making the sushi in front of me, but he seemed a bit clumsy, with rice grains sticking to his palm. The set arrived on a Western-style plate, containing 6 pieces of sushi, 1 gunkan, 6 pieces of roll, and an additional Shin-chan. I found the Botan shrimp to be delicious and large, but some pieces had rice grains stuck to them. The Hamachi was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. However, the Shime-saba (pickled mackerel) was disappointing, with a strong vinegar taste and discolored flesh. The Shin-chan was also a bit underwhelming. The key to satisfaction was not just the quantity but also the cutting and shaping of the fish and rice. Despite feeling a bit unsatisfied at first, my stomach gradually filled up. The Ikura gunkan was leaning at a 45-degree angle, making it a challenge to eat, but the Ikura itself was delicious. The Hotate was sweet and the Akami was decent. I ended the meal with miso soup and finished off the roll, feeling full. The owner, who had been silently making sushi in front of me, was now sitting calmly. It seemed like customer service was the wife's responsibility, as she was cheerfully managing the dining area. Overall, it was a reasonably priced authentic sushi experience, with the total bill coming to about 2,000 yen. Enjoying sushi and drinks with your favorite toppings is the true pleasure of sushi dining. Thank you for the meal!

I happened to pass by on my way back from a business trip and decided to stop by. Since I was alone and craving for sushi, I felt relieved to see the prices clearly displayed on the menu outside. I sat at the counter and ordered the Aoi-no-ue set (3,300 yen), which was filled with luxurious toppings like sea urchin, salmon roe, and medium fatty tuna. The fish in Hokkaido is both affordable and delicious. The sushi rice was slightly larger than usual, but it was plump and paired well with the flavorful toppings. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. I would definitely visit this restaurant again when I'm in Sapporo next time. You can check out their menu on their website: http://susitoro.justhpbs.jp/

Actually, I have been to this restaurant many times before. I live in Tokyo, so it's hard to come here often, and this is my first visit since Asti 45 moved. The interior was bright. There are counter seats and table seats, and I chose the counter seat. I ordered the Aoi no Ue set for 3300 yen. It included sea urchin, abalone, large shrimp, salmon, fatty tuna, conger eel, red snapper, and yellowtail. I always think that there are plenty of high-end ingredients in the set for the price of 3300 yen. They also served Junna's clear soup. They made the sushi right in front of me. It was delicious! The crunchy abalone, thick fatty tuna, and sea urchin were amazing! I couldn't help but order a small sea urchin bowl. And then, the Uni Donburi arrived, topped with the best sea urchin from Shakotan. The sea urchin from Shakotan is outstanding. I heard that many regular customers come here to eat the Uni Donburi on the day when Shakotan sea urchin is in season. The sea urchin season is usually from June to August, and you can check on their website to see if it's available. Tourists who happen to be in Sapporo should definitely come here for the Uni Donburi. While the Chirashi sushi is also delicious, I recommend the sushi that the chef personally makes for you.

Last night's dinner was from Sushi Toro in Sapporo, Nishi 8-chome. I got the Aoi no Ue bento box for 3996 yen, which had a variety of local seafood nigiri sushi including scallops, abalone, pink salmon, marinated flounder, striped jack, medium fatty tuna, sea urchin, salmon roe, scallop adductor, snow crab, and raw spot prawn. The quality of the ingredients was outstanding. I paired it with Otoko Yama Autumn Sake, a special junmai hiyaoroshi. It was amazing, although I wish I could have eaten it at the counter, I'm grateful to have enjoyed it nonetheless. #SapporoGourmet #HappyMealPlus
