I had been curious about this place for a while, so I visited. There are 4 sunken tables across from the visit counter, and further back, there are about 5 sunken tables. The atmosphere is lively and casual, typical of an izakaya. They offer a lunch menu that is cheap, with a wide variety of dishes, and delicious. The 700 yen lunch sets include meat, fish, two types of hamburgers, grilled cod in Kyoto style, and sliced salmon. Everything is delicious, especially the grilled fish set, which comes with hijiki, salad, and pickles, giving a good value. If it's your first time, you can get a free large portion of rice, and refills are available for an additional 100 yen. They also offer free Wi-Fi. I have already visited twice in two days.

The exterior of the restaurant may look narrow, but the interior has a cozy atmosphere with counter seats and a raised seating area. Many regular customers have their own bottle kept at the restaurant. The owner seems to be a baseball fan, with high school baseball pennants displayed and Fighters games shown on the TV. The menu offers a variety of dishes including sashimi, grilled dishes, fried dishes, and seasonal vegetables like asparagus and mountain vegetables. One dish that stood out was the "original octopus and egg." There is also a wide selection of alcohol, including Hoppy. The prices are reasonable. The service is friendly and has a good connection with the local community. Overall, it is a cozy neighborhood restaurant with home-cooked dishes that make you want to become a regular customer.

In July 2021, near Nishi18chome Station, there is a charming red lantern restaurant that calls itself a "foodie's place." It is a cozy izakaya run by a family. It was still early in the day, and some office workers were starting to trickle in. The cover charge was 400 yen, and the chilled heart-shaped mochi was a nice treat on a hot day. This seafood restaurant is also popular for its blackboard menu items, such as oysters with shells for 250 yen each, served with a squeeze of lemon. The saltwater sea urchin for 680 yen was also a good choice. The origin of the sea urchin was uncertain, but the price was reasonable. I had another oolong highball for 400 yen, but unfortunately, the mochi filled me up quickly, and I couldn't eat much more. It was time to go home... Thank you for the meal!

Around Nishi 18th Street Station. It's been a while since I worked overtime. I usually leave early in the morning to finish most of the work or arrangements before people arrive, so I haven't been working late for a while. Normally, it's the time when people are having a party. I'm hungry and I wish I had a Snickers, but I don't have one in my desk. So, I'll stop by a izakaya on my way home. I'll go to Oomiya, where my senior colleagues used to take me when I was a new employee. It's been over 10 years since I last visited. I sit at the counter and order a highball. Looking at the menu, I order boiled hatahata, pork skewers, and chicken skewers. The appetizer is okara. It brings back memories! I feel like having some rice. It's sweet and salty, so I stop halfway. Next, the boiled hatahata arrives. It's a male fish with delicious milt inside. But I want to eat the eggs of hatahata! Maybe it's not possible at this price. The pork skewers are impressive. They have a good texture. But the chicken skewers are seasoned and not that great. I prefer them just with salt. I came to this nostalgic place, reminiscing about the past, and enjoyed a quiet drink before heading home. Thank you for the meal.

About 20 years ago, during my single days, I used to frequent this restaurant at night. Today, I had a meeting nearby so I decided to visit after a long time. It was my first time having lunch here. The lunch menu for today included: - Hamburg steak set - Grilled horse mackerel set - Salmon and salmon roe parent-child rice bowl set I was a bit torn, but I ended up ordering the salmon and salmon roe parent-child rice bowl set. The saltiness of the salmon and salmon roe was just right. I mixed it all together and finished it in no time. It was a satisfying meal.

A group of three colleagues visited a long-established izakaya known for its delicious lunch menu during an early dinner time. Despite being in Sapporo, they recommended the Electric Blanc beer! The food and drinks were reasonably priced, so they ended up ordering a lot. The daily specials on the blackboard looked delicious, and the assorted appetizers on the counter were tempting. They started with a toast with Sapporo beer and enjoyed a flavorful appetizer. They ordered a sashimi platter, grilled bamboo shoots, local chicken Karaage, fried hanpen cheese, original takoyaki with egg, chicken wings with mentaiko, tsubu simmered dish, Otaru sea urchin, potato fries, cheese spring rolls, and nikujaga. They drank local sake (in big-sized cups), highballs, and Electric Blanc beer. After about an hour and a half, they were all quite drunk and decided to leave. The total cost was around 4,000 yen per person. By the time they left, the restaurant was fully booked, so they realized that reservations are necessary for late visits. They wondered if it would be okay to sit alone at the counter. The food was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Popular izakaya near the company's nearest station for lunch. The menu is simple, with only hamburg steak or grilled fish for 700 yen. The grilled fish options are limited to either red salmon or horse mackerel, with only red salmon available. Upon entering the restaurant, the dimly lit interior was filled with customers, and I was seated at a slightly empty counter seat. I was promptly given a wet towel and tea, and when I placed my order, the food arrived shortly after. The service was efficient and pleasant! There were three small side dishes, and the shiny Hokkaido rice with miso soup and pickles was a delightful set. While the dishes were not piping hot, each side dish had a robust flavor profile, with no sense of cutting corners, and the seasoning was just right! I am sure the dinner menu is equally delicious. After finishing the satisfying lunch, I am looking forward to coming back for dinner next time. Thank you for the meal.

After work, I like to have a drink at "Oomiya" near Nishi-18chome subway station. The restaurant is run by a family with five staff members. I visited around 5:30 pm and sat alone at the counter. I started with a beer (Black Label @480). The beer after work really hits the spot. I ordered "Kinpira and Kabocha simmered dish" as appetizers. The Kinpira was a bit oily but went well with the beer. The Kabocha simmered dish was not too sweet and very tasty. I also ordered the "Salted Hormone Grilled" @480, which was a bit small in portion but had a strong salty flavor that paired nicely with the alcohol. The "Cold Tofu" was served with grated ginger, bonito flakes, and chopped green onions. The refill sake was the "Oomiya Original" from Yamagata Prefecture (Junmai Ginjo) @630. It was easy to drink and well-made. The large "tea cup" it was served in looked impressive but was a bit difficult to drink from. Looking at the menu, some items seemed a bit expensive, but you never know until you try them.

I haven't posted for a while, but I visit regularly. Recently, Oomiya-san offers a choice of fish lunches, but items often go out of stock. On a certain day in November 2015, they had salted salmon set meal. I was tempted by the meat croquette set meal that someone else was eating, but I settled for the fish set meal. On a certain day in October 2015, they had a fish set meal again. I chose between salted mackerel and salted Pacific saury, and I went with the Pacific saury since I had mackerel last week. It was delicious. Today around 12:20, the fish set meal was sold out. Some customers who found out only the meat set meal was left ended up leaving. It's popular, that's for sure. On a certain day in October 2015, I visited for the first time in a year and a half. I had the salted mackerel set meal, which is a reliable choice. Did the daily special set meal price increase compared to a year and a half ago? Regardless, it's delicious, so no problem. When I paid, the lady said, "Long time no see," and I was surprised (laughs). Even though it had been a year and a half, it's nice that they remembered me.---February 2014, I had the horse mackerel set meal, which was delicious. The side dishes were also fantastic. The salted herring set meal was salty, but perfect as a rice accompaniment.---February 2014, I had the Atka mackerel set meal, which was thick and delicious. It was a meal that made me want to say, "I'm glad I was born in Hokkaido," due to the delicious Atka mackerel. The opened saury set meal, unlike the autumn saury, had a more concentrated flavor due to being opened and dried. It was a meal that made me want to say, "Sanma, the happiness of the mouth."---January 2014, I visited specifically because I knew they had a seafood bowl. The seafood bowl for 680 yen was so extravagant for lunch. It was so generous, with side dishes included, so I was very satisfied.---January 2014, my first visit of the new year. The lady said, "Happy New Year," and I was embarrassed (laughs). I chose the salted mackerel from the choices of ginger pork, pork cutlet, and salted mackerel. Fish set meals always come with many side dishes. Today's side dishes were dumplings, konjac salad, Matsumae pickles, pickles, and rice, miso soup, and salted mackerel. I will likely continue to visit this year for the reliable set meals.---December 2013, I had the spicy Pacific saury set meal. The spiciness of the red pepper was mild, but because it was soaked and then grilled, all the bones except the spine were edible. It was still delicious as always.---December 2013, it was my last visit of the year. I had the Atka mackerel set meal. I often hear that Hokkaido Atka mackerel is big and delicious compared to the mainland, but it's nice that it has become normal to have delicious Atka mackerel here.---December 2013, I had the chicken cutlet set meal for the first time. Even though it was fried, it was light, maybe because there was little fat. Meat is not to be underestimated.---December 4, 2013, as usual, I had a fish set meal. Because it's delicious. Today, I had the herring set meal. Delicious! However, there was something with sea urchin flavor in today's side dishes, which is torture for someone like me who dislikes sea urchin. But I will probably have a fish set meal next time (laughs).---November 27, 2013, as usual, I had a fish set meal. It's delicious. Today, I had the Pacific saury set meal. During lunchtime, the turnover rate and speed of service seem to be prioritized, so the fish was slightly cold. But it's still delicious. I haven't had a meat set meal here yet. I will probably have fish next time (laughs).---November 20, 2013, I had the Atka mackerel set meal. The side dishes were dumplings, tarako stew, and tamagoyaki. I was satisfied. Because it's consistent, I can enjoy it without worrying.

Near Daito West 18th Street, there is a popular izakaya that gets crowded with office workers during lunchtime. Personally, I think more people come for lunch than for dinner. The staff are friendly and the lunch menu mainly consists of fish and meat set meals. They offer free extra rice which is a nice touch. The fish set meal comes with a side dish, providing a satisfying meal. It's no wonder that it's always busy during lunchtime. As expected from an izakaya, the fried food is delicious. I tried the croquette and minced cutlet set meal. The croquette was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The minced cutlet was a bit firm but packed with meat, offering a satisfying meal. I left feeling content.

Welcome! ┌¬o”* * * 2014.09 ↓Located in the area along the main street of Nishi 18-chome in Chuo Ward, is an izakaya that Yamato frequents? I visited for lunch. |o| °д°)ノHello, "Welcome!" The staff here have an impressive crispness in their words, cutting off their sentences sharply. The owner looks like a former fisherman, with two women and a young person, as well as families and more. The counter is lined up with tables behind, and there is a raised area in the back, which is surprisingly spacious or rather, 100% Le Sala Ramen-like atmosphere, "Please feel free to go to the back." I hesitantly head towards it. I'm just a simple guy who is delighted to have a table all to myself in the middle of the day. I didn't know that the lunch menu was posted on the back wall, I just saw the one at the entrance. It says "extra large portion for free" on it. Yamato recommended the fish, but I got distracted by a single word, which I think Shin-kun (who is currently busy with club activities and exams) would come for. ←Draft in progress? In the evening, they serve seasonal dishes and fish that capture the hearts of older men, with a variety of sake and shochu at the counter. To have a drink with the old man, I'll have to come for lunch a little earlier. It seems like they also pay attention to soy sauce. The hamburger steak set, "Here you go~!" was served in less than 5 minutes, I didn't even have time to wait. The sauce that was written as "Donkey-style" was Japanese-style, with a sweet sauce surrounding the potato salad and salad, and a bite-sized dessert that might be Donkey-style. The thick patty had a rich umami flavor from the ground meat and a smooth soy sauce thickness. The homemade feel of the potato salad was complemented by the motherly taste of the salad, with a mini tomato accent. The miso soup with seaweed had a strong miso flavor that I liked. The combination of blue-fleshed melon and pickles was like closing your eyes and imagining prosciutto and melon. I want to aim for a day with just one slice of hokke, but I might be swayed by the contrasting meat dishes. The owner and the staff were courteous and warm throughout, and their manners and bowing until the end were appreciated. I love feeling the subtle warmth of long-established restaurants, thank you, it was a feast.

Today's lunch was at a restaurant that also serves as an izakaya. I wanted to have the soy sauce marinated fish that was listed on the menu outside, but unfortunately they were sold out, so I ended up getting the hamburger steak set instead. Other types of fish like mackerel and sardine didn't really appeal to me. The hamburger steak set with ketchup sauce was really delicious. The side salad with dressing was also tasty. The atmosphere was nice with various types of alcohol displayed on the counter, making me want to have a drink. If it was evening, I would definitely be drinking... However, the disappointing part was that the restaurant was labeled as a "foodie" place, so I expected the portion size to be larger, but it was just average. It would have been helpful if they mentioned that they offer free upsizing as a service. It was written on the wall where the menu was displayed, but I missed it because I didn't check the menu outside beforehand... (Well, it's my fault for overlooking it, haha)

I visited a different restaurant in the neighborhood that I had never been to before. I ordered: simmered flounder, mackerel miso, fresh oysters, fried crab, assorted sashimi, fried natto, whale bacon, beer, shochu, hoppy, makgeolli, etc. Everything was delicious. In particular, the flavor of the simmered fish was outstanding, and the freshness of the sashimi was also good. The atmosphere is like a typical izakaya, so it's not particularly "stylish." This time, we ate and drank quite a lot, so it cost around 15,000 yen for four people, but if you just want to eat and drink normally, 3,000 yen is enough. It was a restaurant with good cost performance.

I stopped by for lunch. It seems like a restaurant that usually operates as an izakaya also serves lunch. The interior is like a typical izakaya, with a counter full of alcohol. The lunch menu offers a choice of meat or fish dishes for only 680 yen each. This time, I ordered the meat croquette set. It arrived in about 5 minutes. The large portion was free, so I went for the large size! I was so full and satisfied for only 680 yen, what a great deal! Next time, I'll come back in the evening for some delicious drinks! Thank you for the meal!

The exterior wall of the store had a handwritten menu that caught my attention, so I decided to go inside. The restaurant has a cozy and homely atmosphere, where you can relax and enjoy your drinks. The menu includes a variety of dishes such as yakitori, sashimi, and salads, all with a homemade touch and delicious taste. One dish that stood out was the takoyaki-style tamagoyaki, with octopus inside a beautifully yellow omelette, creating a fantastic texture and flavor combination. It is also quite affordable, making it a must-order when ordering multiple dishes. They offer a selection of local sake and shochu, making it a great place for those who enjoy drinks while savoring their meals. It is a reasonably priced and delicious restaurant suitable for solo diners or groups. Since the seating is limited, it might be a good idea to make a reservation before visiting.
