My friend wanted to see the snow festival, as she is a local resident. It had been three years since she last attended the festival, and it was crowded with people. My friend wanted to try game meat at the Tomoya stall, so we arrived at the opening time and were the first customers. We ordered venison sashimi and wild boar yukhoe, which were delicious. Initially, my friend had some reservations about eating deer meat, but she found it tasty. A foreign customer saw the game meat dishes on social media and decided to try them as well. Unfortunately, they were out of camel and alligator meat that day, so he had to pass. It was the day of Risshun (the beginning of spring) on February 4th, and a sake brewery rushed to deliver their freshly squeezed "Otoko-yama Junmai Ginjo Namazake." It was a delightful sake to enjoy. We had a total of three glasses each and ended the meal. As we were leaving, some acquaintances of the foreign customer arrived, and we exchanged greetings and handshakes, creating a lively atmosphere. It was a fun and enjoyable experience, and I felt grateful for coming that day.

A pub where you can enjoy game meat. I tried the meat sashimi with horse meat and beef tongue. Absolutely delicious! The beef tongue is made with Tokachi beef. Can't believe you can eat beef tongue sashimi at this price! Also had a dish called "kajiko," which is the jaw part of a whale, and it was also delicious. It's so tasty that fishermen end up eating most of it, so it's not often found in the market. Also, they pour drinks generously, so it's very reasonable for drinkers.

On the second day of the revisit training on July 13, 2023, I invited the members of the same group to go for drinks. I was a bit hesitant because it might be difficult for members who were not staying in Sapporo to join on short notice, but three people besides me agreed to join. One member from Aomori Prefecture wanted to eat Genghis Khan but didn't want to go alone, so the four of us decided to go together. We met in Susukino and headed to a famous restaurant that I had never been to before. However, there was a long line at the entrance of both the main store and other branches. When in trouble, go here!! (Sorry to the owner) So, we decided to visit the restaurant without an appointment. When we entered the restaurant, there were no other customers yet. The owner made a sharp comment about not stopping by here even though we were drinking in Sapporo (^^;) Well, today I brought three new customers, so please forgive me. And when we asked if they had Genghis Khan, the owner replied, "Yes, we do" with a laugh. The Genghis Khan that was served included lamb chops and a variety of seasoned meats. Although the main guest was from Aomori, they really enjoyed the meal, which made me happy. I also had some, and the lamb chops I had after a long time were delicious. By the way, the sauce was Bell (laughs). I brought a bottle of it and let Tom-chan try it, but as usual, it was emptied in no time (laughs). Well, we were able to talk about a lot of things that we couldn't discuss during the training, so it was great to visit Tom's house. I wonder how much we drank. I was moderate only at this place. Game meat dishes have a truly delicious taste with minimal gamey flavor. I tried Hokkaido venison, bear, and lamb. They also handle rare meats like camel. The downside is that the inside of the shop is dirty and the air conditioning is not working. If they could fix that, it would be perfect! It might be a bit tough to bring guests here. The owner may look funky, but is very friendly! If I have the chance to visit Hokkaido again, I would like to stop by.

I felt like eating game meat for the first time and visited this restaurant. In the third photo, there are raw meats of deer and kangaroo. The ones being grilled are bear and wild boar. They were very easy to eat with little gamey taste!! The interior of the restaurant is quite Showa era style. There are sunken kotatsu seating areas with cushions. At the corner, there were stacked Famicom? cartridges and such. The food is very delicious. The interior may be a bit cluttered? It feels like a Showa era grandmother's house. If you are okay with that, please give it a try.

When you climb the inconspicuous staircase next to Fukurai-ken on Susukino 5th Street, you will find a bar-like counter. In the back, there are three small raised seating areas with round tables. And for meat lovers, there are a variety of dishes to choose from... including raw meat, deer, wild boar, kangaroo, camel, crocodile, rabbit, quail, sparrow... exotic game meats. This time, I ordered camel but it was sold out, so I tried kangaroo instead. Kangaroo meat is very tender with a melt-in-your-mouth texture, and a juicy flavor. It's delicious even when dipped in garlic or egg yolk, but it's best enjoyed as is. I also tried the duck loin sashimi and the tendon ponzu. The duck loin has a rich umami flavor, while the tendon ponzu offers a refreshing texture that pairs well with sake. The master, with a unique appearance, exudes a passion for meat. It's been 11 months since my last visit. I wanted to see the owner again after a long time, so I visited. The shop sign at the entrance has changed. I didn't notice it when I passed by occasionally. I had a drink with the owner, "Cheers!" I had quite a few drinks, so I started with a "Frozen Lemon Sour" (550 yen). I ate, but I felt like eating something more... It seems like the game menu has become more abundant. There may be few shops in Sapporo that handle this much. The customer before me was eating "Raccoon Dog" steak and said, "It's not strange, and it's delicious." I've never eaten it before. I wonder what it's like, so I'll try the "Nagasaki Raccoon Dog" (1,500 yen)... It's true. It's very delicious without any peculiar taste! The fat feels high-quality. I can also feel the fragrance and sweetness. I was once asked to guess what meat I was eating, and I guessed "camel." I've eaten it before, but this is the first time I've ordered game meat of my own will. I really thought it was delicious. I asked to have the lemon sour topped up and tried drinking it as a follow-up sour. The customer before me left, and I talked with the owner about various things. When traveling to Hokkaido, one of the highlights is going on a drinking spree. After taking a bath at the hotel, I had planned to go from my favorite bar to a ramen shop for a nightcap. However, I ended up having a great time at Tom's place! Even though it was my first visit, the service was fantastic and the game meat, shochu highballs, and other unique and delicious drinks were amazing! The venison and mountain wasabi were especially outstanding.

I made a spontaneous visit after 4 months, marking my 19th visit. I remember coming here a year ago, also a bit tipsy. Tom... I'm glad I finally got to say it - that you're alive! It's been a while since my last post. I came back home, shoveled snow, and had dinner. The TV news mentioned that there will be heavy snow tomorrow causing transportation disruptions, so I decided to stay in Sapporo. They said about 40 centimeters of snow will fall between Sapporo and Otaru... In the end, I ended up returning to Otaru just to have dinner... What a fool. My partner suggested changing my pants at least. I changed my pants, but my socks were different colors on the right and left... After three and a half hours, I returned to Sapporo, a bored overweight man. I was walking to a capsule hotel in Susukino when a lost Hong Kong couple stopped me for directions. They wanted to eat soup curry, so I found a restaurant and guided them there. Then, I went to Tom's house. As usual, I had a pineapple sour. When asked what I wanted to do, I decided to have lamb. I smelled the grilled lamb and washed it down with pineapple sour. There is a misconception that lamb cooked this way is just like Genghis Khan. Tom, the host, takes extra care when grilling lamb to dispel this notion. The snow festival is over. During the event, the restaurant was bustling with many inbound customers from Taiwan, Korea, Hong Kong, Australia... Finland? I'm sure the snow quality is good there and the game meat ingredients are promising (fantasy). The restaurant owner brought a light blue cylindrical object. It was a bottle of Look Laddie The Classic Laddie Scotch Whisky. Despite not being able to drink, he poured a little Scotch into my glass. At 50%, it's missing about 20% of the disinfectant, but it feels like fire. I got drunk. At 22:22, I said, "I'm going home." "Already?" "Yeah, it's getting late." I just hope for a safe and peaceful day tomorrow. And the next day turned out to be completely safe and peaceful.

In the Susukino area, I found this izakaya that was open on New Year's Eve. The location and entrance were quite unique compared to other restaurants I've been to. It felt like an oasis. The fresh raw meat was all tender. Personally, I enjoyed the venison tataki. It was served with garlic paste and had a hint of lychee flavor. The combination of acidity and the sweetness of aging was unique. The grilled sparrow had a wild taste when eaten whole. The master, Tom-chan, was charming, and the regular customers seemed at ease. It reminded me of Yoshida Dormitory. In the desert of unfulfilled desires that is Susukino, this place brings relief to everyone.

Regularly touring, alive and kicking. It's time for an update and a sermon with the boss (laughs). However, since we've known each other for a long time, our conversations are always enjoyable. We drink! We make each other drink! The boss seems to be putting a lot of effort into their Halloween makeup. It's a short time, but it's a fruitful time. Meeting people through Tabelog and connecting with fellow enthusiasts is always fun. There are also people from Miyanomori who come for regular visits... It's heartwarming. Casually. I climbed the creaky stairs and opened the wooden sliding door with a loud noise, revealing a crowded counter seat at Tom's, a popular restaurant. I squeezed in among the regular customers and started chatting, only to be surprised with a large lemon sour drink that I didn't even order. I was in the mood for beer, but oh well, I accepted it with a smile and a "splash." After confirming the cheerful owner's well-being, I left the restaurant. I went on a business trip to Sapporo with a large group of colleagues. We made a reservation in advance and the master was incredibly hospitable, helping us with the menu and providing excellent service on the day. The food was absolutely delicious. I drank too much sake and my memory is a bit hazy towards the end, so I couldn't take any photos. I am grateful to the regular customers who helped us. I definitely want to go back again, this time with a smaller group for a more intimate experience. I have found a restaurant in Sapporo that I want to visit regularly.

I visited this place for dinner after finding it on Tabelog. I started with a Sapporo Classic draft beer. The menu is extensive, with many game dishes that I would like to try. This time, I ordered beef tongue, chicken heart, and chicken gizzard. The portion on each plate is amazing! This is considered one serving! The prices are reasonable, which makes the delicious food even more enjoyable. I also ordered frozen fruit sour lemon, cheese gyoza, and seseri zangi. Every dish was delicious. There are still more dishes I want to try, but it's hard to eat alone. I hope to come back again. Thank you for the meal! 🍽️

On the second day of my trip to Hokkaido, I visited a very interesting restaurant that my local friend took me to. It had a slightly shady atmosphere at first, with a dimly lit interior and a raised seating area stacked with Famicom game cartridges. There were mysterious drawings that looked like they were done by children hanging on the walls. The place was eclectic and strange, but incredibly fascinating. They served unique meats like venison, kangaroo, and alligator, and the quirky owner added to the charm of the place. The BGM was unexpectedly 90s Shibari (there might have been some 80s too), which got us, the right generation, really excited. The game meat was surprisingly easy to eat, and paired well with alcohol. The cozy atmosphere made us not want to leave, and the interesting selection of drinks at reasonable prices sealed the deal. It was a fantastic experience, and I will definitely visit again when I come back to Hokkaido!

I heard that "Meshisakaba Tomuya" in Sapporo is the only place where you can eat game meat, so I was taken there. I had eaten a lot of Jingisukan at the previous restaurant, so I thought I would just have a light snack while drinking, but when I looked at the menu, I was overwhelmed with choices. Boar, deer, camel, etc... There are also special items that come out depending on the season. I ordered a few things that caught my eye and they were all delicious! I never dreamed of eating game meat in Sapporo, but the food at this restaurant is really high-level, isn't it? By the way, my junior colleague who accompanied me seemed to be a regular, and all the drinks came in mega size. So, I followed suit and ordered all my drinks in mega size too. We had a great time eating and drinking, enjoying the delicious game meat dishes. If you want to eat game meat in Sapporo, I recommend this place!

I went to Tom's house for a big highball at Meshisakaba, where my friend took me to our favorite spot ❤️ The counter was lively with regulars ❤️ We all cheered with a toast ❤️ The BGM that day was BOØWY ❤️ It was so much fun ❤️ Thank you for the meal ❤️

Checked in at the hotel for a revisit on June 4, 2022, and took a short rest in the room. I had already been drinking quite a bit, so I needed to cool off a bit before heading out towards Susukino! I decided to walk to sober up a bit. When it comes to day drinking, I have to come here! Meshisakaba Tomuya [15th visit] I visited without an appointment today! There were no other customers, but it seems that there are reservations for two people. I asked for the bottle I had reserved, but there was hardly any left, so I asked for a new one with Shiranami Shochu. I toasted with the owner and ordered my usual Suji Ponzu as a snack. I'm still quite full, so I might not eat much here again today. Suji Ponzu is refreshing and good. Today, I'm drinking sweet potato shochu for the first time. I prefer clear spirits (laughs). Shortly after, the reserved customers arrived. They were a man and a woman, and it seemed like their first visit. At first, they were a bit reserved, but as we started talking, it became a fun and enjoyable time as usual! The owner has a great talent for bringing people together. I also ordered the Tomuya's famous "mystery meat" and continued drinking. I couldn't eat anymore. I was getting sleepy, so I decided to head back to the hotel. Although I didn't order much food today, I had delicious drinks. Lately, it's been like this at Tomuya, but I'm grateful to the owner who always accompanies me! It was delicious again today!
