It is a welfare shop called Peer Herb, which is a type A employment continuation and transition support facility. The location of the North Gas Cultural Hall is around Chitose's AEON and ANA Crown Hotel. Peer Herb is on the first floor, with its entrance separate from the hall, marked by a flag. I visited again at 1:30 PM on August 26, 2023, even though I had mentioned it a few times before. The drink set is reasonably priced, and the water is delicious, so I like it. It's a place I pass by quite often when cycling, so I occasionally use it. Today, after eating at another place, I wanted to add a light snack to my stomach. I ordered carbonara for 700 yen, with an additional 100 yen for extra chicken. I chose a cold cola for my drink. The service was quick, and the pasta had a raw egg on top. I mixed it up and enjoyed it. The spaghetti was a bit soft, but with a perfect amount of black pepper. It was quite delicious. I will definitely come back again.

I had lunch at a cafe on the first floor of Kitagashall. It's a social welfare workplace, so you can choose from various affordable menu options. I ordered the daily special hamburger curry. You buy a meal ticket at the entrance ticket machine before entering. The food was served quickly. The curry had a nice level of spiciness and was easy to eat. The current opening hours are from 10:30 am to 4 pm on Wednesdays to Sundays, except for the last Friday of the month. However, only light meals are available from 11 am, so please check before visiting. I visited without knowing that meals start at 11 am, but the staff kindly opened the ticket machine early and prepared the meal menu for me before 11 am. I ordered the "Small Udon Nabe with Onigiri (¥600)" and "Chocolate Cake (¥200)" which no one had ordered on Tabelog. I was torn between choosing cheesecake or chocolate cake, but I had planned to have the udon nabe for a long time. The prices used to be 500 yen and 150 yen each, but price increases are inevitable. However, with onigiri included and considering that some places charge over 500 yen for a cake alone, this is still quite cheap! I received my order about 10 minutes after handing the ticket to the staff. The salted onigiri had a gentle seasoning that anyone could enjoy. The udon nabe was piping hot! The half-cooked egg was delightfully runny! The ingredients were simple, and the broth had a homey feel with a subtle soy sauce flavor. The cake I ordered was homemade, not commercial. The upper layer had a modest sweet and bitter taste, while the lower layers had increasing amounts of chocolate, creating a bittersweet and mild flavor. Overall, the meal and dessert were quite ordinary, but considering it's a cafe run by an employment support facility, the affordable meal menu and handmade cake for 200 yen are exceptional! I like the cozy atmosphere. Personally, most of the purpose of eating out is to have meals that I wouldn't normally have at home, but supporting and cheering on those who find it difficult to work in regular jobs is also a good reason. When I see people with disabilities working hard, I feel like cheering them on! Although this time it was just a form of support through eating, I hope this feeling reaches the employees. The staff was doing their best! I understand because I have someone like that at home. The portion size was a bit small, but that's okay since it comes with soup, salad, and a drink. The best part was the cheesecake for only ¥200! I'll definitely be back again soon.

The cultural center was closed, but the pier herb was open. I had a ginger pork set meal with a cafe au lait and vanilla ice cream for dessert. The amount of meat in the ginger pork was a bit small, but the cafe au lait was delicious. The vanilla soft serve was smooth and easy to eat.

You purchase a meal ticket from the ticket machine and hand it to the staff. The pork bowl has a rich and sweet sauce, served with delicious miso soup and pickles. If you order it separately, it's just one coin. The pancakes are more like traditional hotcakes and cost 300 yen for a single item. The soft-serve ice cream is from the Hosozawa Farm Milky Bell, which is smooth and slightly sweet (it used to be sweeter in the past). There are four types of cakes available for 150 yen each. Despite the hot weather, there were people ordering hot udon noodles (which are apparently delicious) and rice ball sets. The coffee is high-quality and the café au lait tastes great because of the milk. A few months ago, when I wanted to revisit the café inside the facility, it was no longer there. The security guard next door informed me that the café was no longer operating. It seems like there is a turnover of businesses. Although they have narrowed down the menu since the move, the café employs people with disabilities who work hard and the prices are very reasonable.
