I entered a shop that I had been curious about every time I passed by. The parking in front of the shop seemed to belong to a neighboring consulting company. I was directed to park in the space for 3 cars on the north side of the building and at the dentist's office on the south side. There were no other customers, and I had decided to have the Neapolitan for lunch today. As soon as I sat down, I ordered the Neapolitan for 650 yen. Above the counter inside the shop, there was a stained glass decoration featuring a jousting motif. Ashtrays were placed on other tables, indicating that smoking was allowed in the shop. There was a raised area in the back where the only TV in the shop was placed, along with a weight scale. Perhaps the shop owner uses this area as a rest area when there are no customers. Looking at the counter, even though I was the only customer, there were 3 trays prepared with salads. I waited for a while. About 30 minutes after ordering, close to 12 o'clock, the Neapolitan arrived. It came with a salad that included broccoli, asparagus, cabbage, lettuce, tomato, and even red-fleshed melon. Considering it was only 650 yen, having melon in the salad was a nice surprise. Just as I was thinking that, two customers who seemed to be regulars arrived. The shop owner asked the regulars if they were ready, and they were directed to sit at the counter. The Neapolitan had broccoli, asparagus, and sausage in it. The sausage had a high-quality taste, similar to the expensive ones at the supermarket. The pasta was overcooked and watery. Oh? The tray that was brought out with the Neapolitan seemed to be for the regular customers. Even though there were various menu items like set meals, pilaf, curry, spaghetti, noodles, light meals, and pizza, it was surprising to have the same Neapolitan dish. Maybe the shop owner prepared my order at the same time as the regulars' meals. It's common to think that they adjusted the serving time according to when the regulars arrived. The shop owner came over saying, "Excuse me," and brought grated cheese and Tabasco sauce to the regulars. I wanted to change the taste halfway through, but since I had pasta in my mouth, I couldn't respond, and the shop owner didn't come back with the cheese and sauce. I could hear the conversation between the shop owner and the regulars. Regular: "Having melon in the salad is amazing." Shop owner: "I received the melon as an offering for my father's memorial day on ◯◯ day, but when I touched it, it felt mushy." I see, they don't usually serve melon in the salad. I speculated that my order coincidentally matched the regulars' meals, and in return, they added melon to my salad, which they don't usually serve. Wait, could it be that even the sausage was delicious because it was in the regulars' style? (laughs) It seems like I visited at the wrong time and date.
