There is a well-known road near my place, so I've been thinking since its opening in December last year, "Oh, a new shop has opened." Eventually, after six months, I finally felt like going. It's a ramen and tsukemen restaurant called "tsukemen.com". Located at 12 Chome, Midorimachi, Asahikawa City, you can find the map here https://goo.gl/maps/riVpz1czeotAUa3Z9. Open from 10:00 to 20:30, closed on Wednesdays. Parking available. [Please contact the store for current opening hours, closures, takeout options, etc.] Official Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tsukemen_com/.
Before the opening on December 3rd last year, the signboard was already up, but I was wondering about the name of the shop. It does say "tsukemen.com," but it took me a while to realize that was the name of the shop. They have various types of soup for their tsukemen, and they also serve regular ramen. They make their own noodles! That's interesting. The interior is spacious, with fewer tables, maybe for COVID-19 measures. Tissues and chopsticks are provided on the tables, which is nice. There was a container on the table that made me curious. Next to the table, there was a manual on how to eat tsukemen. You can change the flavor with curry powder and rock salt? Ah, that's what the container was for. I tried the Tomato Tsukemen for 980 yen with extra noodles (540g). The noodles were thick and chewy, almost like thick udon. The soup was rich and thick, with chopped onions, spices, and cheese sprinkled on top. The tomato flavor was strong, which added a refreshing touch. I could also sense a fish (dried bonito) aroma. As I was enjoying the meal, I almost forgot to add the curry powder for flavor variation. I added it when there were about three bites left. The curry powder intensified the flavor, but it surprisingly went well with the tomato soup. Overall, I really liked it. I underestimated this place based on its name, thinking it was just a trendy shop. My bad! This richness might be a hit or miss for some people. If you like the "family-style" ramen in Asahikawa, such as Takedaya or Odateya, you'll probably enjoy this place too. [Tabelog]
