I went to Izakaya Suwa-san! I've been here a few times. Today is the year-end party for my department. We successfully visited a new shop for the first time this year. This restaurant is located a bit far from the main street (quite a walk) and is not very noticeable. It's a very affordable place with delicious food, which is much appreciated. Today, we ordered dishes that we haven't tried before: fresh liver yakitori, chicken sasami yukhoe, beef sagari teppanyaki, and unique Japanese-style dumplings. All of them were delicious and worth more than their price. When the grilled dishes started, the restaurant got a bit smoky. We were seated at the back, so it wasn't too bad, but the smell does stick to your clothes. We also drank a lot of beer. It was a great time, so shall we move on to the next place? It's a great place to relax and have a drink with your retired mom! When you visit Tokachi, be sure to check it out! The liver steak is excellent.

The restaurant is located in a slightly hard-to-find area in Obihiro City. At night, the lights and signs make it stand out. The atmosphere inside is like a regular dining place. As you enter, there are 2 table seats and a counter right away. In the back, there is a raised tatami seating area with 3 tables, and further back, there are 2 more tables. I chose to sit in the raised tatami area, which felt very comfortable and relaxing. I ordered a Kirin Lager draft beer for 500 yen and the "Great Value Set Menu A" for 1,230 yen, which included liver sashimi, yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), and oyster fry. It was indeed a great deal with generous portions. I also tried the assorted skewers for 880 yen, which were delicious. I couldn't resist ordering a bottle of Chilean red wine for 2,300 yen, which was cheaper compared to beer. The menu remains the same for both lunch and dinner, and the pork bowl for 720 yen was authentic and flavorful. Although I wanted to have ramen as a finale, I was already full. I will definitely try it next time. Overall, it was a cheap, delicious, and very cozy restaurant.

After a long time, I went out for dinner. I lost in rock-paper-scissors to decide the driver with my boyfriend beforehand. So we decided to find a restaurant where we could both enjoy the food and drinks. Based on information from my sister, we decided to visit Izakaya Suwa. This place offers the same menu for both lunch and dinner, ranging from set meals, rice bowls, ramen to grilled dishes, fried foods, and salads. We started with a cheers with a draft beer (Kirin Lager 500 yen) while I had oolong tea. We ordered our favorite dishes and were served sashimi as a starter. It was delicious, and I felt hopeful for a place that serves good sashimi. The dishes that followed were all delicious and satisfying. When asked which one was the best, it was hard to choose because everything was so good. After everyone was satisfied, my boyfriend ordered soy sauce ramen as a final dish. He praised it as delicious, suggesting to add pepper after taking a few bites as the soup already had pepper in it. Well, whether you believe him or not is up to you.
