Counter with 6 seats and 2 tables with 4 seats each. The chef is gentle and doesn't talk too much, making it a comfortable atmosphere. I tried the chef's choice nigiri and the kazunoko, and the uni nigiri wrapped in seaweed was delicious so I added another one. Each bite was surprising and delicious. The appetizers were served in small portions, around 4-5 pieces, making it a place to focus on the nigiri. It's not a place for lingering, but for enjoying the sushi. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely visit again.

We started with a sashimi platter of three varieties. We then enjoyed a variety of Hokkaido sake at Sapporo Classic. The sushi had a good balance of rice and toppings, and each topping was delicious. The nigiri was omakase style, and each piece was tasty. We would love to visit again.

It was a sudden visit but they were very kind! I came alone but the chef talked to me and I had a great time! I ordered the 10-piece sushi set. They have sets for 2500, 3500, and 4500 yen, and I chose the 4500 yen one. It was delicious!

I loved the selection of sake at this sushi restaurant. I enjoyed the Wind Forest roll as a snack. The nigiri was also delicious. The octopus simmered in a sweet sauce was tender and had a good aroma. The friendly master and two female servers provided great service, making it a nice neighborhood sushi spot. I definitely want to go back!

The restaurant was conveniently located near the station and the hotel, so I decided to visit for lunch. I was hoping to try the limited quantity sushi or seafood bowl, but by 12:25, both were already sold out. Many other menu items were also out of stock. It might be a bit too early to visit. It seems like they run out quickly. If you want to try their specialties, I recommend visiting within 40 minutes of opening.

I entered the restaurant after 1 pm, but they were out of ingredients. However, I decided to try my luck and asked if they could make something with whatever they had left. The chef kindly agreed, even though it might not be the freshest ingredients. I waited at the counter for about 15 minutes, and then the sushi arrived. The fish was all fresh, even the tobiko tasted delicious. The sushi, miso soup, and tea were all very tasty. I am grateful for the kindness of the chef. If I visit Sapporo again, I would love to come back. Next time, I want to try their lunch set! Since the chef is working alone, it might take a bit of time if there are many orders. I recommend going with some extra time. The sushi was delicious, but what really made me happy was the warmth of the chef and his wife.

Hokusai Lunch - I received a decent meal. It was quite tasty, but I didn't feel any uniqueness. The location and cost performance were great, but it would have been even better if there were more Hokkaido-specific ingredients. *It was indicated that card payment was accepted, but it was not possible, so I deducted 0.5 points.

I visited this sushi restaurant in Sapporo during my business trip to Hokkaido after a long time. The location right in front of the station was convenient, and the chef was in charge of a small number of seats. I had the 2200 yen lunch set. It included 9 pieces of sushi, seafood chawanmushi, miso soup, and warabi mochi. The sushi pieces were small and easy to eat, with a good texture. The wasabi was mild. The freshness of the ingredients was truly impressive. The white fish was standard, but the tuna, ikura, and sea urchin were outstanding. It felt like a lot for a lunch set at this price. I realized that Sapporo really offers good value for money. The miso soup was also delicious. Thank you for the meal.

On the first day of my trip to Hokkaido, I went to "Sushi Dokoro Hokusai" for lunch!! I arrived just before opening, sat at the counter, and ordered the "Hokusai Lunch - Fukui" from the menu. It included 9 pieces of sushi, miso soup, chawanmushi, and dessert. The sushi had my favorite vinegared rice, with toppings like medium fatty tuna, salmon roe, and sea urchin, all for 2200 yen. It was a great value for the quality. The restaurant quickly filled up, which was no surprise. I definitely want to come back for another sushi lunch!! Thank you for the delicious meal.

A sushi restaurant located close to Sapporo Station. I visited on a Saturday night during the long weekend around 8 o'clock. The restaurant faces the road and has glass windows, allowing a clear view of the interior from outside. There was one person at the counter and a couple at a table, but the couple left as soon as I entered. I sat at the counter and ordered a beer. Inside the counter, there was the head chef and two young female servers. I ordered a sashimi platter, which cost 2200 yen per person for a 3-piece assortment. There were 6 seats at the counter and 2 tables. The sashimi included salmon, tuna, and octopus. The sushi I ordered was delicious, especially the sea urchin which was Murasaki Uni. It was very fresh and flavorful, without the use of alum. Unfortunately, they were out of Bafun Uni. I finished the meal with a chawanmushi. Normally when in Sapporo, I would go for a drink in Susukino, but having a different kind of night was also enjoyable. Oh, and I asked about the origin of the restaurant's name, Hokusa, but I'll keep that a secret. Thank you for the meal.

On a weekday night in Sapporo, I arrived without an appointment at a non-conveyor belt sushi restaurant. I sat at the counter and ordered the cheapest set, which was the Snow (regular) set for 1680 yen. I'm not used to non-conveyor belt sushi restaurants, so I was surprised to find such an affordable set at a nighttime sushi restaurant. The set included 10 pieces, including tamago (sweet egg). When I asked if they had a small size beer, they brought me a small Sapporo Classic draft beer for 410 yen. The foam in the grilled dish was fine and the beer was delicious. The salmon sushi, which was fresh, was particularly tasty. I felt a bit nervous dining alone at a sushi restaurant, but the head chef kindly spoke to me, making me feel warm and comfortable. Thank you for the meal.

I visited around 12 o'clock on a regular day. Lunch service is irregular, so be sure to check before visiting. I ordered the Hokusai Lunch for 1,100 yen, which comes with nigiri sushi and soup. The chef runs the place alone, so during lunchtime, you may have to wait at the counter for about 30 minutes. The set includes 10 pieces of sushi, as shown in the photo. The flavors are not exceptional, but they are consistently delicious. The slightly firm sushi rice is tasty. The clam soup is also delicious. Overall, I am satisfied with this meal for 1,100 yen. Thank you for the meal!

Hokusai Lunch offers 10 pieces of sushi and miso soup for only 1100 yen, which is surprisingly cheap. The sushi includes tuna, squid, conger eel, yellowtail, salmon, sweet shrimp, salmon roe, flying fish roe, and egg, all fresh and delicious. I also ordered the finishing dish of mackerel, which was very delicious with a good balance of oil and flavor.

The restaurant is popular with visitors during regular opening hours, but it can also be booked for private events, so it's best to call ahead. I ordered the Fukulunch, which includes sushi, chawanmushi, clam soup, and warabi mochi, and it's quite a good deal. The taste is consistently good every time I visit, with high-quality ingredients. It's satisfying and offers great value for money. Thank you for the meal, I will definitely visit again when I come to Sapporo.

This is my second visit. Last time, I went in at the end of October and was seated at a table, but they accommodated me at the counter. However, this time I made a reservation but got a table. The people at the counter were talking to the chef about how they had reserved after us, but ended up at the counter. Maybe because they were dining alone? The sushi was delicious as before. Great value for money and close to Sapporo Station, so I will visit again when I come to Hokkaido. I should have specified a counter seat... what a shame. I won't mention the name, but I already know the chef's name, so please say hi. The sea urchin was Hokkaido sea urchin, delicious. Last time, there was no sea urchin in the omakase, but this time it was included. When I added it as a single item, they made me a gunkan or nigiri. I also had them make a mackerel nigiri for me. Even though it's from Hokkaido, mackerel is delicious in cold weather. Delicious. Hokusai.

The small shop had a very cozy atmosphere from the entrance, but I was concerned about the high room temperature as soon as I entered. It was hotter inside than the windy outside, making me wonder if the fish would be okay. I had made a reservation, but it didn't seem necessary. It wasn't too crowded even though it was lunchtime. I opted for the limited "Fuku" lunch set for 2200 yen, which included miso soup, chawanmushi, and dessert, making it a good deal. The fish, being from Hokkaido, was delicious even at this price. The only thing that bothered me was the slight raw smell of the sweet shrimp. The chawanmushi was a modest size with a strong yellow hue, tasting predominantly of eggs. The simple taste was delicious. It had a good variety of ingredients as well. The restaurant is very close to the station and offers affordable dining in a cozy atmosphere. If I were a local, I would definitely want to stop by this place. The person next to me ordered a seafood bowl, which turned out to be quite large, so I was relieved I didn't order it (I had just eaten ramen and chicken bowl).笑

We visited as a family of three after the end of the coronavirus pandemic during Golden Week. Despite our delayed arrival due to flight and train delays, they had turned off the overhead lights to ensure we wouldn't run out of topics to talk about. We are grateful for their thoughtfulness. We enjoyed the premium sushi, assorted sashimi, chawanmushi, crab miso salad, and additional sushi (sea urchin, cured mackerel, shrimp). The freshness of the ingredients was exceptional, and we were completely satisfied with the rice, toppings, and overall hospitality.

I visited this restaurant where I have been a fan of for a while. I arrived just 5 minutes before the 11:30 opening time and waited in front of the store. When the store opened, I sanitized my hands and was seated at the counter. There are 5 lunch menu options, and I chose the Hokusai Lunch for 1,100 yen. It took about 10 minutes for the meal to be served. The toppings included akami, hirame, soi, octopus, squid, salmon, sweet shrimp, ikura, tobiko, and tamagoyaki. They were all moist and well-aged. The slightly firm shari had a good balance, although it was on the smaller side. The clam soup was delicious. The restaurant quickly filled up with reservations and walk-in customers. (April 2022)

Counter with 6 seats, 2 tables, and a small cozy restaurant that you wouldn't have found if it wasn't for word of mouth. I visited during lunchtime and they offer reasonably priced lunch sets. I ordered the limited "Fuku" course which includes 9 pieces of sushi with different prices depending on the toppings. It came with luxurious toppings like sea urchin and fatty tuna, along with chawanmushi, soup, and warabi mochi. Despite its small size, the atmosphere was welcoming and I would love to visit again for dinner. Next time I'm in Sapporo for business, I'll stay near the station and revisit this place!

Today I visited Sushi Restaurant Hokusa near JR Sapporo Station, across from Yodobashi Camera. I ordered the recommended Hokusa Lunch "Fuku" for 2200 yen. It included 9 pieces of nigiri sushi, seafood chawanmushi, soup, and dessert. The tuna, ikura, and chawanmushi were delicious. Thank you for the meal.
