After-party time! In a slightly tipsy mood, we went looking for a place for our second round. Some of us wanted sweets, while others were still up for more drinks. We ended up wandering around Susukino and stumbled upon Sawaken. I had been here once before and loved it, so I was keen to come back. Everyone agreed, so we decided on this spot for our second round. The menu had so many tempting options that we were all a bit indecisive. The appetizers were delicious, and the drinks were also top-notch. I can't remember what everyone ordered, but we were all very satisfied. Highly recommend this place for a fun and tasty gathering. It was a great farewell party, but some of us had plans the next day, so we had to call it a night. It was a blast, and the food was amazing. Thanks for the great meal! ❤️

When I first visited, there were a lot of people which made it hard to talk with my friends. However, all the food we ordered was great! Personally, I really enjoyed the raw lamb sashimi. Also, the skewers that tasted like liver sashimi were unique and interesting, not something you can find elsewhere.

This time, I visited a district I don't often go to. Just like the name of the shop suggests, it was a shop located in a back alley and I was excited to visit. The exterior looked like a stylish izakaya. The atmosphere inside seemed to have many regular customers, but it had a welcoming cleanliness. The service was pleasant and I enjoyed drinking. I had the chef's choice course and all-you-can-drink, and I wondered what would come next while enjoying the delicious food. It was really delicious. I will definitely visit again.

I went to Susukino. I visited a popular charcoal-grilled restaurant called Sawaken in a deep location. It was a farewell party for two people. After finishing the next party at the opposite yakitori restaurant, we immediately entered. As expected, it was a popular restaurant and it was full. There were people of various backgrounds, but no young people. It was that kind of place. It was a farewell party for an early retiree who is returning to Kansai, his hometown. We continued talking about the future, family, and memories from when he was in Hokkaido in Kansai dialect. I might get so engrossed in the conversation that I forget about the food, so I'll order now! Since I'm in the sending position this time, I'll have them order what they like. The appetizer was delicious from the start. If the appetizer is this good, there's nothing to complain about! The yakitori was juicy and each skewer was grilled just right with a good seasoning. The mackerel was incredibly fresh! Most importantly, the soup dish was amazing! This was especially delicious! No matter what you eat, the food is consistently high quality. I had wine and other drinks, but I should have ordered sake after all. It feels like it would be even better if they focused more on the glassware. Thank you for the meal.

In the world, there are places that serve delicious yakitori and delicious seafood, but it's rare to find a place that excels in both. This restaurant meets that rare criteria. Regardless of what you order, everything is delicious, and they also have a great selection of Japanese sake and shochu. However, there is one downside - the food is prepared by just one master chef, so it can take some time for your order to be served. In the past, it took nearly 30 minutes for the first dish to arrive when the restaurant was full. But for those who don't mind the wait and enjoy leisurely dining, this place is truly exceptional!

Visited the popular restaurant Sawaken for the third time. Reservation is a must as it's always crowded. The simmered kogori served as an appetizer was delicious. The grilled chicken liver with Chinese-style chili oil was amazing. The stewed dish was incredibly tender and flavorful. Every dish that came out was delicious. Highly recommended restaurant in Susukino!

Actually, this shop is the one where I got rejected last time I visited on a business trip... lol Finally, I made it inside! As expected, it's fully booked again... impressive! The excitement starts from the moment you walk in!! The fresh sashimi from Hokkaido is delicious, but every item on the menu is tasty (^ω^) Among them, the grilled skewers are especially... (´∀`) I underestimated it thinking it was just an izakaya... I'm sorry lol I could hear from other tables "delicious~ delicious~"! Now I understand why it's always full. I will definitely come back when I'm on another business trip ^ ^ Thank you for the meal! (^o^)

First visit. Everything I ate was delicious. Especially the sashimi. There were also recommended dishes of the day and rare sashimi that you don't usually see. They also have meat dishes, so it's great for days when you want something light but also want to eat meat! Thank you for the meal.

The food is really delicious and the atmosphere of the restaurant is nice, but the downside is that the food takes quite a long time to be served. It might not be a problem for a second round.

Sapporo this winter was covered in piles of snow everywhere due to heavy snowfall since December. Those involved in snow removal were working tirelessly every night without a break over the New Year holidays. Thanks to their efforts, the main roads finally had two lanes cleared for cars to pass through, but the back alleys of Susukino were in rough shape, with cars occasionally getting stuck on the uneven surfaces. Even taxi drivers were hesitant to enter the back alleys, saying they were too dangerous. Near my place, I even saw two bumpers that had fallen off... In the midst of this, I had the chance to visit the cozy robatayaki restaurant I had been wanting to go to for a while at the end of the year. The impression I got from the place made me think, "Ah, this is definitely a delicious restaurant!" and I was looking forward to my visit in the new year. As I pushed open the heavy door, drawn in by the smell of the kitchen, the warm interior with an L-shaped counter and a few tables felt inviting. The lineup of alcohol on the counter made me wonder what to drink, as the food menu also tempted me to order many dishes. The prices were quite reasonable, especially for this type of small izakaya. I was tempted to order a lot, but since it was my first time there, I decided to start with just two dishes (which turned out to be a good decision). The selection of alcohol was well-curated and easy to choose from, with just the right amount for a satisfying drink. The food was flavorful and surprisingly generous in portion for the price. One dish shared between two people felt slightly lacking, so it would be quite filling for one person. The staff had a nice and welcoming attitude, adding to the pleasant atmosphere of the restaurant. The only downside was the smoking allowed in the restaurant, which could be off-putting despite the delicious food and enjoyable ambiance. In Tokyo, it's becoming more common for this type of establishment to be completely non-smoking or have designated smoking areas, but it seems like it's still a challenge in Sapporo. There have been discussions about making all food and drink establishments smoke-free, and personally, I see the benefits of making this change now.

A 4500 yen all-you-can-drink course with hot pot, sashimi, grilled chicken, grilled fish, and a delicious porridge made with the soup from the hot pot. This restaurant offers a quality that stands out from the average izakaya.

Both the set meals and skewers are great, and the all-you-can-drink option is also excellent! The tsukune (chicken meatball skewers) are especially recommended!
