In recent times, due to the restrictions on dining out caused by the emergency declaration for the coronavirus pandemic, food bloggers in Hokkaido have been coming up with creative reviews of products from supermarkets, delivery services, and convenience stores. I also found an interesting product, so I decided to write a "supermarket review" like other reviewers. The store I visited is "Seiyu Motomachi Kita 24-jo Store." This supermarket, which is part of the Seibu group, opened in this area over 45 years ago with a stylish atmosphere reminiscent of Seibu. In 2002, it gained attention due to the "beef mislabeling incident" and the abnormal refund of annual sales. With a change in ownership to a foreign company, the store now offers a variety of unique products. I was intrigued by the "Minasama no Omotodoki" segment on TV, where products that received over 80% approval from 100 consumers are commercialized. On the day I visited, I went to buy milk and ingredients for shabu-shabu, but ended up also buying a cup noodle. Priced at 87 yen, it was a cup noodle with a good broth that exceeded its value. The store also had a wide variety of retort products similar to Muji. I plan to buy some of these retort products on my next visit.
