On my personal day off on Monday, I start the day with a Strong Zero for hydration (laughs). Well, after the Bon festival is over, even in Sapporo where you can feel the chill at night with the windows wide open, I still wake up feeling thirsty... (laughs) But I'll just stick to one tall can this time, so I don't make the mistake of drinking too much and napping too much like a few days ago. Now, what should I have for lunch? I search various places near the station on Google Maps. And, to my surprise, I found a restaurant located within a 3-minute walk from the north exit of JR Sapporo Station (laughs). I didn't know... Back in the day, there was a delicious Chinese restaurant called "Ooka" along Sapporo Shindo in Higashi-ku, Sapporo, and I used to go there quite often. That "Ooka" turned into "Nanchu" at some point, and then the operating company of "Nanchu" went bankrupt, with some of the stores changing to "Nanryu"... I think (laughs). I used to visit the "Nanchu" in Hachiken quite frequently. That place used to be Nanchu, a Japanese restaurant, an izakaya, and... well, now it's a 7-Eleven. I remember that the parking lot was where the store was located, but only locals would know that (laughs). When I arrived, it was just a little past 11 am, the opening time. There were only two customers in the spacious store. I was asked to disinfect my hands and fingers with alcohol by the waitress, so I did, and then I was seated at the counter. I took a look at the lunch menu. The daily special lunch on Monday, "Stir-Fried Pork and Egg with Chili Sauce," and the ramen lunch with "Chicken Salt Anka Ramen and Gomoku Chahan" were both tempting... I hesitated a bit, but decided on the "Yakisoba Lunch (tax included 968 yen)." I chose rice instead of steamed buns. I chose oolong tea as my soft drink. The waitress asked me, "Would you like your drink before or after your meal?" I said, "All together is fine." Then she said, "You can only choose before or after the meal"... ?? What kind of rule is that? Well, let's wait while drinking cold water... and then it arrived in 4 minutes. That was fast (laughs). The yakisoba with a lot of sauce on a large plate looked a bit lonely, and the amount of sauce seemed excessive. Is this soy sauce-based instead of oyster sauce? Was it just my imagination that I only felt shredded cabbage in the salad? The Chinese soup had a mild flavor. Overall, it was neither good nor bad. I used to eat here often, but... As expected of a restaurant in a complex building, even though it was before noon, group after group of customers started coming in. And they were all middle-aged men in white shirts with ID cards hanging from their necks (laughs). Oh, and even though they brought oolong tea, they didn't bring the bill (they didn't put it in the bill binder). So when I went to pay, they asked, "Didn't you have a binder?" It's quite a tricky rule (laughs). Well, it's not a place I dislike, and the access from Sapporo Station is good, so I might drop by to eat occasionally. Thank you for the meal.
