I stopped by "Zangi-do" for dinner during a day trip to Hakodate. I started with a Dewar's Highball, had Chanja-garipon as a snack, enjoyed a 90ml of sake, and finished with some Zangi. The Zangi was large and satisfying to eat. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the sushi restaurant "Zako-tei" for a light meal and then headed to the Hakodate Zangi Sakaba "Zangi-do" located in Ekimae Yokocho. I enjoyed a Sapporo Classic draft beer, along with the famous Zangi dishes such as spicy "Red Zangi" and curry-flavored "Golden Zangi". I also had some highball drinks and finished with another Sapporo Classic draft beer. After that, I took a train to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station to catch the Hayate 98 train to Morioka, where I arrived safely and returned to my hotel for some rest. This impromptu trip to Hakodate was mainly focused on enjoying B-class gourmet food, and it turned out to be a very enjoyable journey. I have a feeling that I will be making more trips to Hakodate in the future.

The freshly fried food was delicious. The lemon sour was also tasty. It's convenient being close to the station and directly connected to a hotel. The photo shows three different flavors for comparison. We only ordered a small amount, but the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I felt sorry for ordering so little. Next time, I will order more.

I tried ordering from the new shop at Hacobiba, Walt, which offers delivery. I got a variety set of three different types of zangi to compare, along with some fried potatoes. The zangi was a bit milder in flavor than I expected, and I felt like I wanted a stronger taste to go with my drinks.

Located on the east side of Hakobiba, next to Square Side, with a coin parking lot to the north. The parking fee is 1,000 yen for 60 minutes. Access by car is easy with a ticket from the attendant. The place was crowded with visitors for both homecoming and sightseeing. Originally planned for takeout, but the Zangi assortment was sold out. Had to wait 20 minutes for the regular Zangi (600 yen) - large, crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside. Reviewers often mention the juiciness of the chicken, which is rare to find. It's not watery, but truly juicy and tender. The chicken skin chips (400 yen) were crispy but too salty. Correction: The takeout was well-shaken and seasoned perfectly. Regret not being able to try the Red Zangi (spicy) and Gold Zangi (curry). In-store dining offers squid salted fish roe, Matsumae pickles, and fresh cod roe, perfect for a light drink.

This is Hakodate. After drinking at an izakaya in Hakobiba, I bought Zangi for snacking at my accommodation. The takeout items at that time were famous Zangi, garlic-free Zangi, gold Zangi, red Zangi, and chicken skin chips. My choice was the "famous Zangi" (600 yen). Although it was pre-fried, the coating was crispy and the chicken thigh meat inside was juicy with a well-seasoned flavor. It was delicious! Next time, I want to try eating freshly fried Zangi with beer at the store. Thank you, Zangi-do!
