I wanted to eat seafood during my trip to Hokkaido, so I chose a restaurant with same-day reservations. From the reviews, it seems like a popular spot for local group tours, but due to the impact of COVID-19, there weren't as many customers this time, allowing us to enjoy a leisurely meal. It was visible that they had reduced the number of staff in the kitchen and on the floor to the limit, and everyone seemed very busy, but the service was polite, which left a good impression. For travelers from other prefectures, the seafood was surprisingly high quality and priced, with the recommended item being the assorted sashimi platter, the Hokkaido platter, which was generous in portion. The contents are usually chef's choice, but this time it was rich in shellfish. The freshness was excellent, with a crunchy texture that went well with sake. They also served both regular and local white mountain wasabi, which was a nice touch. The pressed sushi with salmon and salmon roe was also a classic, with the overflowing salmon roe being a luxurious touch. The taraba crab sashimi was pricey, but the large, exquisite meat made it worth it. The selection of local sake was good, and we tried the nigori from "Chitose Tsuru," "Susukino," and the nama-zume (cold and warm comparison) from "Otoko-yama" this time, leaving an impression that Hokkaido sake has become even more delicious than before. With the return of foreign travelers expected to make it harder for casual tourists to drop by, now is a great time to visit this restaurant while the impact of the COVID-19 shock is still affecting foot traffic.
