The service is fast. If you're short on time but craving soup curry, this is the place to go. Personally, I always go for the Natto Keema. Most people I go with order regular soup curry... but be careful, if you make it spicy, it can be quite hot. The lunch set with salad and a drink is a nice touch.

An acquaintance often used this shop and I was curious about it.
✲Atmosphere✲
The interior is clean and stylish. Takeout delivery people keep coming in, showing its popularity. The staff are friendly and create a calming atmosphere. Two people are busy running the shop.
✲Food✲
Ordered the Chicken Vegetable curry with a spice level of 3. The vegetables were sweet and satisfying. The chicken was tender but the flavor was a bit mild. The soup had a strong flavor of various spices, making it delicious and easy to eat.
✲Overall✲
Enjoyed a delicious curry with well-balanced spices.

I didn't have curry bread, but I visited in March when there was still snow. It was after 1 pm, but it was crowded. I was seated at the counter. During lunchtime, soft drink and salad are included. The menu mentioned a choice between salad or dessert, but it seemed like they were sold out. I ordered an iced coffee. It had a mild bitterness but a nice aroma. The Hamburg vegetable curry was priced at 1250 yen with a spice level of 5 out of 6. Unlike typical soup curry where you have to wait, this one was served in about 15 minutes. They warm up a large pot of soup and adjust the spiciness by adding chili peppers from mild to hot. The Hamburg was huge and had a good firmness without being too soft, with a nice texture from the onions. The vegetables were delicious, including onions, carrots, bell peppers, pumpkin, eggplant, and potatoes. The soup had a nice spice flavor, and the rice was exceptionally tasty. They might be using "Iwasaki Farm" rice for their soup curry. My husband thought it lacked richness, but I personally enjoyed the taste.

I have been going to White Base Cafe since before they moved. Their soup is not too heavy with plenty of spices. I ordered the Chicken Vegetable, level 4 spiciness, with a small size rice for 1200 yen. The vegetables are delicious, whether it's the cooking time or the quality of the ingredients. The spicy soup goes well with them. The chicken is tender and falls apart easily, and they provide a separate plate for the bones which makes it easy to eat. The atmosphere is stylish and clean, with good hygiene measures in place, and they have a smoking area which is convenient. Thank you for the delicious soup curry!

On a holiday during the Golden Week in 2020, with no wife or children at home, I decided to save money by staying in and doing things I enjoy. Instead of going out, I visited a soup curry restaurant called "White Base Cafe" located in front of the Asahikawa University of Education. It was a sunny day, so I decided to walk there instead of driving to a soup curry restaurant in a different area. I ordered the Chicken Vegetable soup curry for 1320 yen, with a large portion of rice and a spice level of 6 (very spicy). The soup was tasty and had a nice kick of spice, but lacked a unique touch that would make it stand out. The chicken was tender and delicious, while the vegetables included potatoes, eggplant, carrots, pumpkin, onions, and bell peppers. The potatoes were perfectly cooked, but the eggplant was a bit mushy. The rice, however, was overcooked and too soft for the soup curry. Overall, the atmosphere of the restaurant was good, and the service was friendly.

I happened to pass by a cute building that looked like a beauty salon... I circled around to confirm again! Oh, it looks like you can have a meal here~ Let me park on the side of the road and do some pre-research on Tabelog! Haha, oh, this is the place I was looking for! I had it saved, after all... Haha, this is why being directionally challenged is troublesome... Haha. Now that I know where it is, let's go in right away! Welcome~ A friendly greeting! Nice... The menu isn't extensive, but for some reason, I chose the "Keema Okra Natto Vegetable" dish for 1250 yen (with Kenbuchi green beans topping for an extra 100 yen). I ordered the soup curry, which comes with a drink and a choice of salad or dessert. Natto... I still wonder why I ordered this dish. If it's a debut, shouldn't I have chosen chicken... Haha, it's a mystery even to myself... I must have been under the spell of wanting to try natto keema curry at some point... ( ̄∀ ̄) Haha. Now, I sat at the counter and glanced at the kitchen while playing on my phone, waiting for the food... The base soup is the same for all dishes, I wonder? And each dish is finished separately... The vegetables are deep-fried individually... The wait time was a bit long... Soup curry always takes time, right? Natto might take even longer? Hmm... So this is natto... It's delicious... The curry spice flavor goes well with natto... Maybe being under that spell was a good thing... Haha. The deep-fried vegetables are a bit hard to eat, as I've always wondered why they are like this at any place I eat... It's really difficult to eat with just a spoon... The green beans I topped with were a bit tough and stringy because they were deep-fried raw... Maybe blanching them lightly before topping would make them sweeter and more delicious? The soup was delicious, so I felt like taking it home and simmering the vegetables to eat... Bon appétit~ ( * ॑꒳ ॑* )

Before the education district, there is a shop that I used to live in the apartment behind about 30 years ago. Oh, it brings back memories. At that time, this place was a coffee shop. Anyway, I parked my car in front of the shop and went inside. The menu had stewed pork and curry, which caught my eye. Of course, I ordered it. The spiciness level was 2, and I chose the large rice portion without extra charge, which was nice. Moreover, it came with salad and a drink! I chose coffee. I ate the salad and drank the coffee first. Eating vegetables first is good for the body, especially for an old man like me who doesn't eat much raw vegetables. The curry arrived, and the stewed pork was huge and tender. It was so good. The two female staff members were very friendly and created a pleasant atmosphere. Thank you for the meal. By the way, there was a signed photo of Aki Asahashi on the shelf behind the counter. I wondered if she had visited here, but it turns out she is a friend of the owner. As a side note, I promised myself to come back and try the hamburger curry next time. (laughs)

Located in a residential area suitable for students, it might be a bit hard to find. They offer a fragrant soup curry with chicken and vegetables, as well as a natto keema spice curry (both around 1400 yen each, including salad and a soft drink). The atmosphere is nice, but the curries could use a bit more flavor. It might be better suited for a casual cafe visit.

The spice blend is well-balanced, and the amount of soup is relatively generous, so overall I think it's GOOD.

I had a strong craving for soup curry, so I went to a soup curry restaurant I had never been to before. The set meal with salad, drink, soup curry, and rice cost around 1200-1300 yen. They also had a menu item called "clam and vegetables." I chose the hamburger, which was packed with meat and very filling. You can add toppings for an extra 400 yen. I opted for 300g of rice, but it wasn't to my liking as it seemed to have been kept warm for too long. This is just my personal impression. I chose soup number 3, which had a strong spice flavor. Despite its appearance, the soup was light and easy to eat. It was delicious! I was intrigued by the vending machine next to the entrance of the restaurant!

Located near the education university in Kitamon-cho, this restaurant is easily overlooked as it faces the road. There is parking space for 3 cars in front of the store. I visited around 12:30 and there was one parking space available. Upon entering the store, we were seated at a table. The interior is stylish with a predominance of white.
I ordered the Chicken Vegetable Curry for 1200 yen, while my friend chose the Keema Okra Natto Curry for 1250 yen. Both options come with salad and a soft drink. You can choose the spiciness level from 0 to 6, and the rice size from Small (120g), Medium (200g), to Large (300g) without any extra charge.
First, we were served salad and drinks, which was a nice touch before the curry. The curry arrived about 5 minutes later. They provided a separate plate for chicken bones. They only offer chopsticks and a spoon, so having a fork available would have been nice.
The Chicken Vegetable Curry had fried vegetables including carrots, pumpkin, eggplant, bell pepper, and potatoes. The chicken was tender and easy to eat with chopsticks. The soup was flavorful and enjoyable.
Please note that this restaurant has irregular closing days, so it's best to check their website before visiting: https://www.whitebase-g.com

Last October, I moved from the countryside to in front of the education university. The shop has a stylish interior with a white color scheme (totally my kind of atmosphere!! (laughs)) The staff (two women) are very kind, cheerful, and provide pleasant service. I asked them anything I needed to know to write a review, and they answered happily. The basic menu is about 8 types of soup curry, with the option to choose toppings to customize your soup curry. The spiciness levels range from mild 0, medium 1, to hot 2 to super hot 6. You can also choose your rice portion size from S (120g), M (200g), to L (300g) with no additional charge. I ordered the braised pork and vegetable curry (spiciness level 2, rice M) for 1,200 yen (tax included). It comes with salad and a drink, so I asked for a ginger ale. It arrived in about 10 minutes. Wow! The braised pork and vegetables are very large and have a strong presence! There are spoons and chopsticks on the table, but they also provide forks if you ask for them. The soup curry is tomato-based and uses over 20 types of spices. It's spicy and flavorful. I was surprised by the size of the ingredients! The braised pork, in particular, has a strong presence and is very tender from being slowly cooked. The vegetables are also very large! The rice is blended from a local farm to complement the soup curry. The restaurant also sells retort curry (864 yen) and is available at Sapporo's "Kita Kitchen," "Asahikawa Road Station," and "Asahiyama Zoo" souvenir shops! The restaurant's regular holidays are irregular, so it's best to check the website! https://www.whitebase-g.com/

Crossing time and changing places, I gradually approached this place near my home. So, I decided to visit after a long time. The restaurant is called "White Base Cafe" and it serves soup curry. It is located at 9-chome, Kitamon-cho, Asahikawa City. Opening hours are from 11:00 to 15:30, with irregular holidays. They have parking and smoking is allowed. The restaurant used to be called "OZ" and was located in Biei-cho. Later, it changed its name to "White Base Cafe" and moved to Nishi-Goryo. Now it is in Kitamon-cho. It is located in front of the main gate of the University of Education. The restaurant's name and sign are not very noticeable, so it is easy to miss. I went there around 2:00 pm on a weekend and it was almost full. I sat at the only available smoking seat. The prices are a bit on the high side, but soft drinks and salad are included in the set. The price remains the same regardless of the amount of rice, which is nice. I was quite indecisive, but in the end, I chose the Keema Okra Natto Vegetable Soup Curry (with coffee and salad) for 1250 yen. One bite and it all came back to me. The taste is not too sweet, with a hint of saltiness. The okra and natto make the soup slightly thick, but it has a refreshing mouthfeel and no strange aftertaste. It's not the kind of curry with a strong punch that I prefer, but it seems like something that would be liked by many people.

This is the first time visiting the White Base Cafe since they relocated. I used to enjoy their curry, but now it seems they only serve soup curry. The place was crowded, so I sat at the counter. The menu includes a drink, salad, or dessert (which varies each day), and the soup curry prices range from 1200 yen. I opted for the vegetable curry since I ate too much the day before. First, they served coffee and salad. The coffee automatically comes before the meal. Other customers also received it first. I should have had it after the meal, but oh well. I sipped the coffee and had the salad. From the counter, I could see the curry being prepared, which looked delicious. One advantage of sitting at the counter is being able to watch the chefs at work. However, I overheard some gossip among the staff and possibly returning customers, which I would have preferred not to hear. I remember there were more male staff members at the previous location in Nishi-Goryo, but it seems the staff has changed. I then tried the soup curry. The ingredients were cooked well and tasty, but compared to before, it seems like the spiciness has been toned down. I used to enjoy the kick of spice followed by a rich flavor, but it now seems milder.

Takeout braised pork and vegetables for 1,380 yen. Soup curry has become a luxury item, hasn't it? It has become common for prices like this nowadays. It seems like eating in the restaurant includes salad and a drink for the same price, so eating in might be a better deal. I chose level 4 spiciness, and it was not just spicy but also delicious. The large pieces of braised pork were so tender that they easily crumbled with a plastic spoon. There was no unpleasant smell, and the portion was satisfying. The container with rice was a bit disappointing, like a cheap bento pack. It was delicious, so I would like to try eating in the restaurant next time.
