In June 2023, at 6:00 pm, I visited a nostalgic Western-style restaurant in a building in Susukino, Sapporo, where a familiar song was playing. It's a hidden gem of a place that not many people know about. We started with a toast with beer, which was all-you-can-drink. Some of the dishes we ordered were:
- Squid tentacle cob salad for 930 yen
- Salt-marinated smashed cucumber for 630 yen
- Super jumbo shrimp fry for 680 yen
- Crispy fried sweet potatoes for 680 yen
- Crispy pie pizza (Margherita) for 930 yen (changed from 4 to 3 pieces)
- Teppanyaki cheese Napolitan for 1,170 yen
- Thick and tender pork loin sauté from Hokkaido for 1,330 yen
My favorite was the super jumbo shrimp fry, which was about 20 cm in size, with a satisfying texture that was both firm and crispy. The generous homemade tartar sauce added even more flavor. The tartar sauce, made from eggs from Kutchan, was refreshing and not too sour, making it a perfect match for the potatoes and fried chicken. The crispy pie pizza (Margherita) had a perfect blend of mozzarella flavor and basil aroma, along with a light and crispy pie crust. The thick and tender pork loin sauté with the "secret sauce" was a savory soy-based sauce that made you crave for rice. All the dishes were delicious and of high quality, leaving me impressed. The staff's attention to detail and thoughtful suggestions, such as adjusting the portion sizes, were also wonderful. It's a restaurant where you can truly feel the care for the customers. I was taken out to dinner by our business partners, and at first I was skeptical about having Western cuisine in Hokkaido. However, I ended up being very satisfied! We started with a toast of draft beer, enjoyed a colorful array of appetizers like carpaccio, and then indulged in various Western dishes that were brought to our table one after another. The steak, crab risotto, and all the dishes were perfect as accompaniments to alcohol, and I thoroughly enjoyed them. Among them, the giant shrimp fry, which seemed to be the restaurant's specialty, was incredibly delicious! I ended up switching from draft beer to highball, and eventually to wine, and got quite drunk. This hidden gem of a restaurant, I would love to visit again for the shrimp fry if I have the chance!

It's been a while since my last visit. We ordered the crispy pie pizza, the famous shrimp fry, the iron plate Napolitan, and the Banhacauda. It's really delicious as always!! The all-you-can-drink fruit liquor is truly a delight. It was so much fun to drink with everyone after a long time!! Thank you for the delicious meal.

"The super huge whole shrimp fry with homemade tartar sauce, the thick and tender Hokkaido pork loin sauté with special secret sauce, the cheese-topped teppan-style Napolitan, the squid ink cob salad, and the crispy pie pizza Margherita, among others, were all delicious at the networking event with my business meeting colleagues. The shrimp fry left a strong impression, being so large that I wasn't sure how to eat it at first. I decided to generously pour on the tartar sauce and dive right in. Even though it made a mess around my mouth, I believe that's the best way to enjoy it. The crispy coating made it easy to finish it all. Despite its size, it disappeared in no time, leaving me completely satisfied. Since we were a decent-sized group, we had to share and sample a little bit of everything, which limited the full experience. Next time, I definitely want to try the pork loin sauté properly. For those who love shrimp fry, I highly recommend giving it a try!"

I visit this place almost once a month. The super jumbo shrimp fry here is, in my opinion as a big fan of shrimp fry, the best in Japan. The Napolitan is also delicious, so I highly recommend it. This time, they have renewed the Napolitan to be like drowning in a sea of cheese, so I hope many people will try it! In addition to the reliable classic menu, the diligent couple who run the place also add new menu items regularly so you never get bored. They always provide cheerful and energetic customer service, making it a great restaurant in Susukino.

Actually, this is my second visit, but the last time I came here was before I started posting on Tabelog, so I only registered the visit. This time is my second visit. I was looking for a nearby izakaya, but they were all full and hard to get into. I contacted this place on a whim and managed to get a table. Since this is my second visit, my memory of the flavors is a bit fuzzy, so please forgive me for not providing a detailed review. The menu is not extensive, with simple dishes. I ordered the thick-cut ham cutlet, crispy pie pizza, and gratin. I remember all of them being delicious, especially the pizza with its pie crust, which was very easy to eat. It was also cut into squares, making it even easier to enjoy. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and welcoming, suitable for hanging out with friends or even for a date. The attentive service from the staff left a good impression on me. I hope to visit for the first time next time and leave a more detailed memory.

It was a long time since I last visited Susukino to celebrate my friend's birthday. Whenever I come here, the staff's smiles are so bright and soothing. We had carpaccio, crispy pie pizza, asparagus-wrapped fried food, and of course, the highlight was the giant shrimp fry! They even had a special offer of 100 yen per piece on Instagram. It was so delicious! And the birthday plate we requested was amazing! The artwork was so skillful, colorful, and cute. Perfect for celebrations!

This is my second visit to this restaurant run by a husband and wife. Congratulations on your 4th anniversary! The wife's lively smile is so comforting. Our order included: 1. Horse sashimi 2. Liver 3. Shrimp fry 4. Shrimp and scallop carpaccio 5. Fried avocado 6. Omelette curry 7. Squid tentacle cob salad. I visited the Western-style kitchen Heart restaurant for the first time! It was a farewell party. Yesterday, a state of emergency was declared, but we proceeded with our plans as scheduled. There were some people I was meeting for the first time, so we exchanged greetings and had a toast. The drinks were all-you-can-drink, with beer available in cute glasses. The meal consisted of a 6-course banquet: chicken with special sauce, squid leg salad, jumbo shrimp fry, pork grill gratin (penne), cheese Neapolitan. Everything was delicious, and I made sure to try all of them. The squid leg salad was very appetizing, and the pork was tender and tasty. The gratin and Neapolitan were also delicious, so I finished them quickly. The jumbo shrimp fry was impressive, as it was a large and real shrimp. The taste was decent considering its size, but it was more of a dish for presentation. They also provide celebration plates, which were skillfully done. The staff left a great impression, and their customer service was excellent. Thank you, Western-style kitchen Heart restaurant, for the delicious meal!

I visited with my eldest daughter, who was born in February, for a pre-birthday celebration. We requested the "celebration plate" that we had been curious about for a while. They drew Lippy and E-Panda for my daughter, who is a huge fan of AAA's Takahiro Nishijima! No matter how many times we visit, the food never gets boring, with new menu items! I take customers to this restaurant for work, and I visit it once a month with my colleagues and friends. When I first visited, I had the preconception of "Western food? Drinking alcohol?" which I now find embarrassing. The dishes made by the reserved, sincere, and enthusiastic master are amazing! The lovely wife's hospitality is also great. The mother washing dishes with a smile is also wonderful. The shrimp fry here is in my opinion the best in Japan. I consider myself a big fan of shrimp, and the ingredients and cooking are perfect. Topped with a special tartar sauce made with eggs from Ishikawa Poultry Farm, it is pure happiness. The Neapolitan pasta here is also excellent. I love Neapolitan pasta, and the one here is superb. I think having Neapolitan pasta as a closing dish after drinking is a good idea. I wanted to eat the Neapolitan pasta here at home, so I seriously studied and now I can make a Neapolitan pasta inspired by it. Everything I have tried here is really delicious. It tends to get crowded on weekends, so I recommend making a reservation. When people think of Susukino, they tend to think of seafood or Genghis Khan, especially those from outside Hokkaido. But there are wonderful restaurants in Hokkaido, Sapporo, Susukino too! I highly recommend it!

The second party was held at my friend's restaurant, Kokoro Maru. It's a warm restaurant run by a married couple. Since it was the weekend, my friend's mother was also there. It's wonderful to see their whole family getting along so well. For the second stop, we kept it light. We ordered mixed nuts, smoked cheese, pickles, and three types of carpaccio. It was delicious!

This is a lovely Western-style izakaya located in the basement of Matsunaka Building in Nishi4 Minami4. They have many tables for seating and offer all-you-can-drink options, including fruit liquor and sake. The food menu is filled with tempting Western dishes. I visited in search of a gratin that surpasses that of a certain bar, and I must say the gratin with plenty of crab was delicious. Their recommended dish is the jumbo shrimp fry, which is huge and costs only 100 yen per piece when posted on Instagram. The portion sizes are generous, so even though I wanted to try more dishes, we could only manage three with two people. The drinks were great, and the staff was attentive and provided detailed explanations. I will definitely be returning for another visit!

The cost performance is too high! It was the 3rd anniversary, so the shrimp fry was only 1 yen. It's over 20cm long, but only 1 yen?!! And drinks were half off. I ate to my heart's content, drank plenty of alcohol, and was very satisfied. The roast sauté, crispy margherita pie, pate can, potato salad, and french fries were all super cheap and delicious. I drank too much white wine and sparkling wine, but it was so good and affordable.

I don't remember ordering it, but it was delicious. I wanted to try the special jumbo shrimp fry with tartar sauce made with eggs from Ishikawa Poultry Farm. It was huge and only 680 yen, but participating in the Instagram promotion made it only 100 yen! The shrimp fry was massive, over 20cm long. The cheese-topped iron plate Napolitan was quite filling. I also tried the heart-shaped korokoro zangi and cob salad with squid ink, which was a bit light on flavor. The staff were attentive and refilled drinks promptly. Overall, I left feeling full and satisfied. I couldn't try everything, so I took home some zangi and jumbo shrimp fry for later. There are other items on the menu like the potato fry, burdock sticks, and crispy pie pizza that I'd like to try next time. It's quite a generous portion, so I might need to come back multiple times to try everything.

I am very satisfied with the all-you-can-drink course for 4,000 yen! I highly recommend this restaurant for those who love Western food. You must order the carpaccio! Also, don't miss out on the shrimp fry with tartar sauce, it's delicious! This is a cozy Western-style izakaya run by a couple, located right near Susukino Station. A cute friend of mine from junior high and high school works there, so I highly recommend you all to visit! They even celebrated my birthday in November, which made me so happy no matter how old I get!
