I found this place on Tabelog but had never visited before. It's located along a frequently traveled road, but tucked away on a small hill. The building was unfamiliar to me. As I climbed up the slope, I saw a spacious area with a store and what seemed like a residential building. They offer products that are kind to both people and the environment, like not using food additives or genetically modified crops. Inside, they had a variety of items like vegetables, rice, seasonings, snacks, curry roux, instant noodles, and even household goods and cosmetics. I decided to try their manju, which softened quickly once left at room temperature. The skin was crispy rather than chewy, perhaps because it was frozen. Surprisingly, the sweet bean paste filling was quite strong in sweetness. The ingredients seemed minimal. The woman working there mentioned that the store has been around for 30 years and has seen an increase in customers during the pandemic. It seems like there are other branches in Hokkaido besides the one in Wakkanai.
