I visited the Yayoiken Misono store on June 6, 2022. It's been a while since I've been here. I was thinking of having the hirekatsu, but then I saw the limited-time menu item "Pork Harami Stamina Stir-fry and Chicken Sauce Katsu Don." It seemed like it would pack a punch, so I ordered the Chicken Double (laughs).

Husband's hospital visits, second stop for lunch before the next check-up. There is a Chinese restaurant, a soba shop, and a tonkatsu restaurant nearby. My preference was the soba shop, but my husband requested the tonkatsu restaurant! I'm fine with that. We were able to enter smoothly and I ordered the tonkatsu rice bowl with pickled plums. It was priced at less than 500 yen before tax, so I imagined it might be small or lacking in quality. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the tonkatsu rice bowl was actually quite substantial and delicious. It was served with both hot and cold tea. The portion was larger than I expected and the tonkatsu was not tough or overly saucy. It was a great value for the price. The meal was delicious, thank you.

On the day I decided to go for the win, I went to Katsuya before the final battle. I was all set to order the special pork cutlet bowl, but I was drawn to the limited-time menu item, the Demi Chicken Cutlet Bowl. It had chicken cutlet, pork, onions, and plenty of demi-glace sauce. There's no way it wouldn't be delicious. I devoured it all in one go.

This is Katsuya. I always wonder, when someone named "Katsuya" sees the sign of this restaurant, what do they think? Are they happy like, "Hey, my name is everywhere!" or are they angry like, "I'm not a pork cutlet rice bowl shop!" Anyway, when I'm in a hurry, I always go for something quick to eat here. This time, I ordered the "Demiglace Chicken Cutlet Set Meal" because I love trying new things. The set meal includes miso soup and rice. The cabbage soaked in demiglace sauce was a bit soggy, the pork slices were thin and had a strong smell. The demiglace sauce was more like regular sauce, not very demiglace-like. The chicken cutlet had a crispy coating and tender meat, which was delicious. The rice with plenty of sauce was also tasty. The miso soup was consistent as always, with lots of ingredients. Overall, the meal was satisfying in terms of portion size and taste. Thank you for the meal.

This is a part of the "Forgot to Upload Series" - a visit in December 2021. On this day, on my way back from the town, feeling hungry and unable to make it home without eating, I decided to stop by here! I ordered the "Shrimp, Pork Cutlet, and Minced Cutlet Set Meal" (869 yen). It arrived in about 7 minutes, very fast! The three types of cutlets had thin fillings and lacked strong flavors, so if you closed your eyes while eating, you might not be able to tell what you're eating (haha). However, the crispy texture was good! I really enjoyed the crunchy pickled daikon radish on the table, along with the hearty miso soup filled with ingredients. I'll definitely visit another branch in the future! Thank you to the "Misono Branch" for the meal♪

I felt like eating tonkatsu after a long time, so I decided to visit Katsuya since I didn't feel like searching for a new restaurant. I couldn't decide between katsu curry or sauce katsu don, but ended up choosing the sauce katsu don. I ordered 80g, so the tonkatsu itself was a bit thin and crispy, but still had a nice texture and was delicious. I also enjoyed the unlimited pickles that came with the meal, and ended up eating a lot. It's great that I could enjoy a tasty katsu don for only 500 yen, which is very affordable for a salaryman like me. Thank you for the delicious meal. Itadakimasu!

On the first visit in August 2021, Myrebi-san from Asahikawa, who always entertains us with his reviews, boldly declared that the Katsudon at Katsuya is bad. Not just once, but he revisited to confirm. That's fine. Tabelog is a place for subjective expressions. Taste varies greatly. Myrebi-san also praised the Katsudon from "Hot Chef" by Seicomart, but I'm not inclined to try convenience store food. I would rather buy from "Hotto Motto". Personally, I still like the Katsudon from Katsuya. Especially with plum. (laughs) It's true that Katsuya's special menu items can be hit or miss, so I stick to the Katsudon (plum) or occasionally try the curry or seafood specials. On this day, I had the Katsudon (plum) again, with an unlimited loop of 100 yen discount coupons. Invincible at 390 yen (excl. tax), and even with miso soup, it's a blissful taste at 561 yen (incl. tax). Katsuya is definitely all about the Katsudon. But I might try the one from Seicomart someday. After work. I was walking around and ended up here. Katsudon is delicious, right? But this time, I decided to get takeout. They have a surprising variety of fried foods! I ordered: Shrimp Fry 86 yen, Horse Mackerel Fry 128 yen, Crab Cream Croquette 106 yen, Cheese Croquette 96 yen. By the time I got home, it had cooled down, but the non-katsudon items from Katsuya were delicious. Even when cold, they were crispy! The croquettes were especially tasty. Next time, I'll get takeout from a closer location. Thank you for the meal!

We went to Yayoiken for lunch on our way back from a family outing. I needed some good luck for an upcoming important task, so I decided to have tonkatsu (which actually worked as I won later on). Yayoiken is great because you can have tonkatsu at an affordable price. I thought about getting the double loin cutlet, but since I had never tried menchi-katsu before, I opted for the loin and menchi-katsu set. I also upgraded to mentaiko rice. It was delicious and I finished it in no time.

I came to Katsuya along the national highway in Misono. I walked to Fukuzumi, then ate my way through Tsukisamu, Misono. Since it's time to head back, I decided to finish with Katsuya for lunch. I had the Katsu Don with Ume (plum) for 539 yen tax included. As expected, Ume is the best at Katsuya! Among the three options - pine, bamboo, and plum, Ume is the clear winner in terms of balance and cost performance! I'm curious about the special Katsudon too, but I'm sticking to my original plan. The slightly spicy sauce-soaked cutlet and egg on the rice have an amazing flavor! The taste that seeps into the rice is just irresistible! And the thinly sliced pickled daikon radish is also great. I like to put 2-3 pieces of it in my mouth along with the cutlet and rice. Eating it this way makes it even saltier and the crunchy texture is also great! I enjoy savoring about half of it, then I hold the bowl and sprinkle the daikon radish all over, and then quickly scoop it all up. Hmm, delicious! I feel like saying "one more bowl, please"! Eating out... I've been refraining from doing it, but my monthly patrols... are a must!! The three patrols that have become a habit for me are: 1) Starbucks' new Frappuccino, 2) Komeda's new Shiro Noir, and 3) Katsuya's new menu. I've been curious about Katsuya's new Corn Flake Cutlet for a while now, but with the decrease in dining out opportunities... Before the limited-time menu disappears in a month... I absolutely have to...!! So, I forced myself to visit the restaurant. The Corn Flake Cutlet set meal for 690 yen. I could have eaten it as takeout, but personally, I don't like "fried food takeout," as fried food is best enjoyed fresh from the fryer. I want to eat it hot at the restaurant...!! The takeout doesn't come with miso soup, so that's another reason to dine in. When I first saw the Corn Flake set meal, I thought, "Is this a Milk Boy M1 victory commemoration...?" inspired by that comedy sketch. I wonder. Was this new menu inspired by that sketch? Using Corn Flakes instead of breadcrumbs... sounds delicious. By the way, two other customers besides me also ordered the Corn Flake Cutlet. It's intriguing. The appearance is robust... like something you'd see at KFC... with a coarse coating. Thanks to the Corn Flakes, it's super crispy. It's generously coated with a red, or rather orange, spice on top. There's also plenty of mayonnaise. When I took a bite, there was a satisfying crunch... Wow! It's super crispy and delicious! I love it! It's so crispy, and the spice, which has the scent of my favorite Sichuan pepper, is deliciously tangy! Huh! This seems like something you could find at KFC! Or rather, I wish they would sell it as Sichuan Pepper Chicken! The mayonnaise also does a great job, and dipping occasionally in it is mellow and tasty! The spice isn't too spicy either. Feeling happy but wallet feeling empty, I had a solo lunch at Katsuya on a Saturday. With today's budget, Katsuya was the only choice where I could have tonkatsu. Along Route 36, on the way from Sapporo to Ebetsu, just after crossing the loop line, you will find Katsuya Misono branch on the left. It was 11:30 on a Saturday, but I was seated right away. There were about 3 groups of customers already there, and you can choose between hot or cold tea. Today, I ordered the pork fillet cutlet set with a side of crab cream croquette. It arrived in about 5 minutes. I poured the sauce, added some mustard, and took a bite of the pork cutlet. The crispy coating made a satisfying sound as I bit into it, releasing a fragrant aroma. The tender pork and crispy coating, combined with the slightly sweet and tangy sauce and mustard, danced on my tongue, creating a blissful moment. The crab cream croquette had a crunchy coating that gave way to a rich crab flavor. The hot and creamy white sauce paired well with the croquette. The set came with three generous pork fillets, cabbage, miso soup, and pickled radish, providing a good balance of vegetables. Even with the crab cream croquette added, the total cost was under 1000 yen, and with a discount coupon, it came to less than 900 yen. The cost performance was great, which made me happy. On Sunday around 1:30 pm, it wasn't too crowded. If you go at a different time, you can get in easily♪ However, there are few table seats, so families might have to wait. I stopped by while driving around noon. It was around 11 am, so the restaurant was crowded because it was lunchtime. Most of the customers were men taking a break from work since it was a weekday. I ordered the pork cutlet and minced cutlet set meal. Despite the crowd, the service was smooth and efficient. I was satisfied with the portion size and taste. Last month in December, I had dinner at "Katsuya Sapporo Misono Store" located at 3-8-5-15 Misono, Toyohira-ku, Sapporo City. I tried their limited-time menu "Ramen Croquette and Pork Cutlet Set" which cost 759 yen (659 yen with a 100 yen discount coupon). It came with miso soup and two ramen croquettes. It was my first visit to Katsuya Sapporo Misono Store. The ramen croquette was a collaboration with the ramen chain "Kourakuen" and had a spicy flavor. It was quite filling with the pork cutlet and two ramen croquettes. Although it was called ramen croquette, it didn't have noodles inside, so it was more like a regular croquette with a hint of ramen flavor. I tried it out of curiosity. I visited the well-known chain restaurant Katsuya. A friend recommended trying their limited-time menu, so I decided to order the "Mapo Chicken Cutlet Bowl." When I asked if it was spicy, the staff warned me that it was quite hot, but I still went ahead and ordered it along with a side of miso soup. The dish turned out to be deliciously spicy, with a strong numbing sensation. While I enjoy spicy food, the numbness was a bit overwhelming for me, and I ended up sweating while eating. Nevertheless, I managed to finish the meal and found it to be quite enjoyable. Limited-time menu items like this can be quite interesting and unique.

Today, I had a rare free evening with no worries about my weight! I felt like indulging in a heavy meal for no reason, so I decided to go to Katsuya. As expected during lunchtime, it was almost full. When I saw the special offer sign, I immediately decided to order the pork cutlet bowl! It didn't take long for the dish to arrive - the pork was thicker and juicier than a regular cutlet bowl. Plus, the portion size was amazing. On days when I have no evening plans, I will definitely go to Katsuya!
