Koji-koji
Visited the restaurant on a weekday night to enjoy sushi and drinks with a friend. The interior, predominantly white, has an L-shaped counter and several private rooms. Despite the 6:30 pm visit, the place was quite crowded, with more customers in the private rooms than at the counter. We had pre-ordered the omakase, so we sat at the counter, sipped on beer, and started smoothly.
- Appetizers: Ankimo, cod roe, pickled herring. The ankimo was interesting and a perfect match for the drinks.
- Sashimi platter: Chu-toro, flounder, scallop, octopus, botan shrimp. The chu-toro was delicious.
- Tachipon vinegar: Rich and creamy.
- Grilled mackerel with miso: Lightly marinated.
- Chawanmushi: Steamed egg custard.
- Grilled crab miso: Hot and fragrant, loved it.
- Babagarei simmered: Thick and satisfying, slightly on the salty side.
- Karasumi: Sticky and perfect for drinking.
- Nigiri sushi: Chu-toro, flounder, botan shrimp, ark shell, sea urchin. The taste was decent considering the price, but there was no explanation of the dishes, and the speed of service was too fast, causing the dishes to pile up. The crab miso and simmered dish were served together... Understandably busy, but I wish they had provided explanations and paced the service according to our eating speed. Well, with two glasses of tasty sake and beer, the bill was under 10,000 yen, so I can't complain. Thank you for the meal.
