It is affiliated with the yakiniku restaurant Kangen-en, which shares a parking space, making it convenient to visit. I visited this place for lunch during a hot spring drive in the Tomakomai area. The interior has a traditional Japanese atmosphere with counter and table seats. It was quite busy, so I had to wait outside for about 10 minutes before being seated. I ordered the "Beef Tongue Set Meal (Large) for 1,690 yen excluding tax" from the lunch menu. Just like in Sendai, the set meal comes with barley rice and oxtail soup, and you can also get a refill of the rice. The beef tongue, grilled over charcoal, was tender and juicy, and very delicious. The large portion size allowed me to fully enjoy the tasty beef tongue. The neighboring yakiniku restaurant also looks interesting, but I highly recommend this place for beef tongue lovers.

This dish makes you crave rice more than beer. - Hokkaido beef intestines sashimi ¥715 Of course, the intestines have been blanched once. The sauce is not too spicy. This made for a good side dish. - Caesar salad ¥605 The dressing might have been a bit too much. The taste was overpowering throughout. - Sapporo Classic draft beer ¥572 x 2 It's like a perfect classic. The creaminess of the foam is amazing! This was the most delicious part (laughs) Overall, the service was not very outstanding and the beef tongue with strong salt and pepper seasoning didn't quite hit the mark for me as a place to drink. It might receive high praise as a set meal, but as a place for someone like me who enjoys drinking, it wasn't very user-friendly. Thank you.

Visited the restaurant with my daughter at 12:50, it was full so we placed our order first and waited in the car. They have a system where they call you on the phone when your order is ready. I had the thick-cut beef tongue set, while my daughter had the barley rice and miso soup set. We were seated in a small raised area inside the restaurant within 5 minutes, and our food was served in another 5 minutes. It was so smooth! The staff were efficient and offered to take my order even before I sat down, so I didn't have to wait long once I was seated. As someone who knew the previous owner, I personally found the taste to be average. I like beef tongue, so I may come back occasionally, but overall, it's just okay.

There is a counter and a tatami room. They are grilling beef tongue over charcoal, which might be why they have the windows open. The inside of the restaurant is a bit chilly. The beef tongue set meal (small) for 1400 yen includes beef tongue (with pickled vegetables and spicy miso), rice, and oxtail soup. The beef tongue is delicious, and the soup is also tasty.

Visited the restaurant 5 minutes before it opened on November 6, 2022, and was the first in line. Tried the new menu item I hadn't eaten before, the beef tongue and pork tongue combo (large size). The beef tongue was delicious, but the pork tongue was just okay. Maybe I didn't need to eat it here specifically. I think the classic menu items are more reliable. Not knowing when the next ferry would be, I decided to take the available late-night ferry to Oarai. I made it in time and enjoyed a toast while looking at the night Pacific Ocean. Upon arrival in Tomakomai at night, I left my motorcycle at the inn and went to a nearby beef tongue restaurant. The menu was extensive, but I opted for the beef tongue and skirt steak set meal with beef tongue potato salad and Sapporo Classic beer. I realized later that the neighboring yakiniku restaurant offered all-you-can-drink, but I decided against going there for a second round. The set meal arrived after a while, with a simple yet flavorful grilled taste that highlighted the natural flavor and deliciousness of the meat. The accompanying spicy miso paste was perfect for flavor variation and tasty. The rice was also free for refills, a service that would please the younger crowd. The beef tongue potato salad and tail soup were also delicious, allowing me to savor Hokkaido's meat. It was a satisfying visit to two restaurants, and I look forward to trying the neighboring yakiniku restaurant with all-you-can-drink on my next visit.

Arrived at Tomakomai Port for solo touring in Hokkaido. Had the most delicious beef tongue. I heard that this Akahyoe is a chain store next to the restaurant. Thank you very much! I will come back again! Surprisingly, it was more delicious and cheaper than Sendai!‼️

I waited in the car. During that time, I was given a menu to look at. I was so hungry, I wanted to eat anything. Sagari? Thick cut? Large? Medium? I was so indecisive, but I finally decided on the barley miso set meal. It came with pickled vegetables and spicy miso, along with rice and tail soup. You can get a refill of rice. We arrived right at the opening time at 5:00 pm and managed to grab seats at the counter just in time. Customers who came after us were told to wait for 30 to 60 minutes. I have been to this restaurant several times and they serve delicious Gyutan. This time, we also ordered Sagari Yaki and Gyutan croquettes. The Sagari Yaki was full of meaty flavor and very satisfying to eat! The croquettes were also delicious, with a sweet potato base and the texture of chopped Gyutan adding a nice touch. On May 7, 2022, at 11:00 AM, I tried a new menu offering beef tongue, skirt steak, and chicken seseri at a restaurant right after it opened, and the seats quickly filled up. I ordered the Meat Lover's Set Meal (large) which included beef tongue (delicious), skirt steak (also good), and chicken seseri (average). To the first generation Gyutan restaurant Akahei in Tomakomai. Second visit. It was crowded, so I was asked for my order and waited in the car. When I was called and seated, the food I ordered came out right away. It was super fast after entering the restaurant www. The first time, the thick-cut Gyutan was sold out, so... Second visit. The clear tail soup was served with rice, and it was so delicious that I couldn't help but finish it before the beef tongue arrived. When the beef tongue finally arrived, it was thick-cut and generously portioned. The flavor, tenderness, and charred aroma from the grill were all perfect. I quickly took photos for social media and then dug in. The beef tongue was so delicious that I couldn't help but have a second serving of rice, which was complimentary.
