I went to Ezo Fukurou for the first time! Today, I will be exploring the city and enjoying some drinks. Before drinking, we gathered in front of Fujimaru for a political campaign speech. It was cold out there. Now, let's go! We started drinking at Hajigo. My companion for today is a junior colleague who has recently gained some weight. We headed to Ezo Fukurou where my companion found the yakitori to be delicious. The restaurant was crowded, but we managed to get a table. It was a small place with only a few seats, run by the owner and a woman, who seemed very busy. We started with a toast of beer and Calpis. Despite the cold, the beer was delicious. We ordered some yakitori, including skin and heart, and one pork skewer (they were out of stock, but managed to get one later). We also had a sashimi platter, thick grilled egg, chicken karaage, and two appetizers (simmered herring and simmered beans). It might seem a bit repetitive, but everything was tasty. The sashimi was delicious, especially the fresh fish from somewhere I can't remember. The yakitori was amazing, made with Kishu Umadori chicken from Wakayama Prefecture. The skin was crispy and the meat was juicy. The grilling was just right, giving it a nice charred flavor. The heart was also delicious. The appetizers were generous and went well with the beer. The customers were enjoying sake, and the owner was explaining about different types of sake. Despite his appearance, the owner was very kind and hospitable. Overall, it was a great dining experience at Ezo Fukurou. Thank you for the delicious meal!

It's really delicious. The master talks quite a bit, but it doesn't feel annoying at all.

The weather in Obihiro on November 19 is good, not too cold. I found myself alone early tonight. The first restaurant I wanted to try had a slightly different atmosphere. The next option might be close to last call, so I headed to a restaurant that prioritizes what I want to eat. The entrance looked new, but the inside had a calming atmosphere. I wanted to try natural wild boar, but it turned out to be from Kumamoto Prefecture, not Hokkaido. Since I'm in Hokkaido, I decided to pass on non-local options. The menu had some ingredients from Hokkaido, including Tokachi, but not all. Still, there were some appealing choices. ☆ Drink: Kokuki Junmai Hiyaroshi, Sapporo Classic draft beer ☆ Appetizer: Grated nagaimo, cucumber with seaweed vinegar, marinated flounder The appetizers were luxurious, with crispy and sticky nagaimo, sweet vinegar marinated flounder, and a refreshing seaweed topping. The flounder was firm and flavorful, even though it was served cold. ☆ Dish: Seared Urahoro black wagyu liver, handmade cheese-filled pork sausage from Tokusa Ranch The liver was lightly seared, with a golden sesame oil salt sauce. It had a smooth texture with occasional chewy bits, and a mild flavor. The sausage was soft, with a blend of meat, spices, cheese, and herbs.

I visited Ezo Fukurou, a restaurant that I had been curious about. Before 7 pm, I entered the restaurant, took off my shoes, and sat on a slightly elevated seat. It seemed like I was the first customer of the day. The restaurant had counter seats surrounding the grill and a few tables for about 6 people. I sat at the counter right in front of the grill, which was the warmest spot. I ordered two draft beers without looking at the menu. The menu was similar to the one at the adjacent Marui shop, which I later found out was run by the daughter of the owner of this restaurant. I ordered various dishes including chicken, tofu with wasabi, garlic with salt, and more for my companion. For myself, I tried bacon-wrapped mushrooms, pork cheeks, and wild boar (young wild boar ribs). The wild boar meat was lean and had a healthy chewy texture, with a miso sauce that paired well. The restaurant also served a complimentary dish of blue mackerel, which was a highlight of the meal. The owner seemed to be working hard, and the atmosphere was lively. The restaurant had a good selection of sake, and I ended up ordering more to enjoy with my meal. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience at Ezo Fukurou.
