I went to a recently opened izakaya for lunch on their first day serving seafood bowl. It had shrimp, salmon roe, tuna, red snapper, and other white fish sashimi. I asked to exclude the shellfish since I don't like them. The set also came with salad, pickled sea bream, and a drink. All the ingredients were fresh and delicious, so I plan to visit for dinner as well.

Located in Odori West 25-chome, across from the Food Center Maruyama store, on the 2nd floor of the 5th Longevity An building, is the former "Maruyama 5-tsubo" space. The interior of the restaurant remains largely unchanged, with a counter seating for 4, 4 tables for 4 people, 2 tables for 2 people, and 2 semi-private tables. The atmosphere is calm, with jazzy background music playing. Outside the window, the 25th Maruyama Summer Festival Children's Bon Dance Tournament is in full swing, attracting a lively crowd. With one group of two customers already seated at the counter, we take a look at the menu, which includes a selection of quality Japanese sake. Starting off with a Sapporo Classic Draft Beer priced at 480 yen, served in a well-chilled glass with fine bubbles, it proves to be a delicious choice. The "Toshi" priced at 300 yen is a simmered dish that showcases the chef's skill with its delicate broth and light seasoning. For a side dish, we order the "Sun-dried Saury" priced at 680 yen, which pairs perfectly with the beer with its balanced saltiness and grilled flavor. A refill of Dewar's Highball at 450 yen is enjoyed before we wrap up our quick visit, with plans to return for sashimi and sake, followed by either "Beef Rice" or "Chicken Noodles" for a satisfying meal. Given the high turnover in this area, we hope they continue to thrive. Thank you for the meal.
