JR Hakodate Station is located about a 3-minute walk away from this compact ramen shop with two table seats and three counter seats. The salt ramen here has an extremely light flavor, lacking the richness of the broth, which is a bit disappointing. However, it seems like it would be a perfect choice for a post-drinking meal. The noodles are thick and chewy with a good firmness, which I really enjoyed. I arrived about 3 minutes before opening, but there were already two groups of customers inside who had placed their orders. I heard about the limited 5 servings per day chicken shio ramen on YouTube and came to try it, but it seems like that information was outdated as they are not serving it now. Thank you for the meal.

It's lunch at Tsu-tsui Kizoku. A small ramen shop near Hakodate Station and the morning market, with about 8 tatami mats. There are 4 counter seats and only 4-person and 2-person tables. The name of the shop is unusual, perhaps the name of the owner. Despite being near tourist attractions, the shop seems to be determined to compete seriously. The signature menu is a rare miso ramen in Hakodate. I ordered the grilled leek miso ramen. The leeks are grilled on the leaf part. They are randomly cut, so the texture is interesting and fragrant. The noodles are medium-thick curly noodles from Sapporo. The miso is red miso and slightly spicy. It was delicious and I finished it properly. Thank you for the meal.

I visited a ramen shop located a little outside the morning market, after about 10 years. Back then, they used to recommend salt ramen, but this time I tried the spicy miso ramen with grilled leeks, which looked delicious. The leeks were crunchy, the soup was piping hot, and a bit too oily, but overall it was quite tasty. The price was over 1000 yen, but considering the location, it was understandable.

During a break from work in Hakodate, I had a little time and decided to quickly grab lunch. I heard that salt ramen is a must-try in Hakodate, but because it was cold and I wanted something hearty, I went to try miso ramen instead. The restaurant I went to was Tsui Ken Ramen, located near JR Hakodate Station and tucked away in a small office district. The place was small with only a counter and a few tables. I opted for the miso ramen priced at ¥750, which had a refreshing miso flavor similar to Sapporo ramen but with wavy straight noodles. The soup coated the noodles well, and it was delicious. Despite being on the lighter side, it was quite satisfying. Overall, a great meal. The restaurant is a popular spot among locals, serving not only salt ramen but also soy sauce and miso ramen options. It's a small place but the turnover is fast, so you won't have to wait long for your meal.

Standing near the morning market, this place offers menus that are well-prepared for the many inbound tourists that visit Hakodate. I ordered the grilled leek miso ramen. I noticed how another customer, who seemed to be a regular, ordered their dish. There is an option to add "grilled leek" as a topping, which costs 800 yen when added to miso ramen. However, the grilled leek miso ramen that I ordered was 850 yen. It's a bit strange, as the amount of grilled leek topping seems to be different. Nonetheless, the taste was excellent!

The miso ramen with butter was delicious. The noodles were medium thickness, the miso flavor was rich but not overpowering, and the butter added a nice richness. Miso ramen can be hit or miss, but this was a big hit. I wasn't even that hungry, but the dumplings and fried wontons were a great addition. And the beer went down really well too. Thank you for the meal!

"Hakodate Salt Ramen" is a must-try when visiting Hakodate. I chose to dine at Tsutsumi-ken this time because it is not a famous popular restaurant within walking distance from my hotel, and it seemed like a good choice. I ordered the "Salt Ramen" with an additional topping of "Wonton". The clear soup of the ramen was impressive and exactly what I expected from Hakodate Salt Ramen. The toppings included chashu, menma, fried tofu, spinach, naruto, and chopped green onions. The wonton topping was slightly more filling than regular wontons. However, I was a bit disappointed in the service as there was no explanation provided that ordering the wonton as a topping would increase the price by 50 yen compared to ordering the Wonton Ramen directly. Overall, it was a satisfying experience, and I may not have the opportunity to revisit due to the distance from my home."

I don't usually eat salt ramen, but I was able to finish it, so I think it's quite delicious. The air conditioning was broken, so the inside of the restaurant was hot...

I enjoyed the salt ramen and grilled wontons. Personally, I preferred the wonton noodles over the separate ones.

I had a set of wonton noodles with salt flavor and half-fried rice. The soup was refreshing yet flavorful, and the wontons were meaty and substantial.

Hakodate salt ramen - delicious and light salt ramen with a generous amount of meat-filled wontons, satisfyingly hearty.

You can tell it's absolutely delicious just by the sound. The leeks sautéed quickly over high heat, the noodles drained quickly with force, see, it's really delicious. Next time, let's have some dumplings and fried rice.

I remember a restaurant that was featured in a ramen magazine in Hokkaido in the latter half of last year, so I walked from the hotel near the station. By around 7 o'clock in the evening, there were fewer restaurants open in the Hakodate Asaichi area. This restaurant, although small, had table seating. I bought a ticket for the salt ramen from the vending machine and waited a few minutes. The salt ramen served was not greasy and lacked any hidden flavors. I didn't think about trying the limited menu at that time. Thank you for the meal.
