The situation at Nami Rokujo Happy was not good, so I decided to leave early. Instead of going home in the evening, I decided to stop by Takohai Tanukikoji Honten. It's usually a very popular place where it's hard to get in, but due to the pandemic, I was able to enter easily. The staff were as friendly and energetic as ever. I overheard conversations between regular customers and learned that the place is managed by a Vegas employee. It's an interesting system where some regulars here are also regulars at Vegas, while others are not. The staff all wear large name tags with nicknames, and the regulars address them by these names. The close distance between the kitchen and the dining area makes communication easy. Some customers even visit both the Tanukikoji 2-chome and Honten stores in one day. Now, let's talk about the main point. One popular item here is the Chinchirorin Highball, which is a good deal. I always order multiple Chinchirorin Highballs, and today, I hit the jackpot with a Pinzoro on my first try. When a Pinzoro appears, you get a 1-liter Gigajock (about 3 servings) for 1280 yen. They take a photo of you with the drink, and you can write a comment on the photo, which they display in the restaurant. Whether you consider it a win or a loss is up to you. I consider it a win. The takoyaki here is always delicious! Thank you for the meal.

Two drinks and a set of takoyaki and appetizers for only 1,000 yen!! It's irresistible for a daytime drink. Cheap and delicious. There are counter seats and two outdoor table seats, and I was surprised to see quite a few people even during the day. There are three 1,000 yen daytime drink and appetizer courses available. I'm a bit greedy, so I had takoyaki, tako-wasabi, and two sours. By the way, the haskap berry sour was really delicious. I definitely want to go back again.

I had been curious about this shop on Tanuki Koji and finally decided to visit recently. I wanted to drink outside and the terrace seating was perfect. They offer a variety of takoyaki options in 4 or 8 pieces, so I ordered all in 4 pieces to snack on while drinking. I tried the negi mayo, salted octopus, spicy tanuki, and cheese flavors, all of which were delicious. My personal favorite was the spicy tanuki with crispy tempura bits adding a nice texture to the fluffy takoyaki. The other takoyaki were also delicious and great as both appetizers and mains. I opted for highballs as they specialize in them, and went with the Chin Chiro option for its cost-effectiveness. Depending on the roll of the dice, you could get a discount or even a mega-sized drink, so it's a good deal. Just be careful, as odd numbers will result in a mega-sized drink, which could be challenging towards the end. Luckily, I had a lucky day and enjoyed my drinks. I would definitely visit again when I feel like drinking outside.

I started with some "arare and Calpas". The Calpas with red ginger flavor was a nice touch. The "Salt Mayo" had too little rock salt sprinkled on it, so it ended up being mostly just mayo. Maybe they wanted more saltiness. The creamy salt mayo was definitely a fail compared to the freshly made one. ===========

During the midst of Golden Week, I went on a day-drinking spree. Started off with a refreshing highball and lemon sour, along with some hot takoyaki. The drinks went down smoothly. The piping hot takoyaki was also delicious. Ended up getting pretty drunk, but it was all part of the fun. The atmosphere of the place and playing chinchirorin were enjoyable...

Met up with former colleagues for our regular gathering (lol) in the afternoon! This place is always crowded, but around 1 pm it's only about half full. For 1000 yen, you get 2 drinks and either 8 pieces of takoyaki or 4 takoyaki with 1 side dish, or 2 side dishes. Takoyaki is a good deal here, so we went with 8 pieces and 2 side dishes since there were two of us. The garlic shrimp was delicious but felt a bit extravagant (lol). Tako to Highball Sapporo Tanukikoji Honten ☑️ Kujou Negimayo (8 pieces) - ¥660 My favorite takoyaki place, personally the most delicious takoyaki shop for me. It always seems to be crowded. There are two stores in Tanukikoji and the main store is used more often. I always order my favorite, Kujou Negimayo. The large takoyaki topped with plenty of Kujou leeks is fluffy and delicious even when it cools down. Even though they are large, I can easily eat 8 pieces in one go. Thank you for the meal!

I came here because I wanted another drink after having dinner. The place is small. I sat at the counter seat. The takoyaki was delicious, and the beer was also good. The rice crackers and ginger salami served as a starter were okay, but not great.

Our fourth stop was the grand opening day of Isomaru Suisan, starting at 4 pm. When we went for a sneak peek around 3 pm, there was no line, so we decided to have a quick drink while waiting. We went to Tako Highball nearby, which is open from 11 am to 11 pm. They have a great lunch set from 11 am to 3 pm. I won half off on my highball! The pickled ginger karupasu was so good that we even took some home. The atmosphere was lively with many friendly customers and all-female staff. It was a fun and delicious experience. Finally, we headed to Isomaru Suisan, the first in Hokkaido. Cheers to a great day! 🍻

This is the 6th stop on a bar hopping night with friends, and we are already pretty drunk. We came here looking for the "day drinking set" deal, but we arrived at 4 pm and it was only available until 3 pm. I ordered a coffee shochu (400 yen) and an appetizer (310 yen) which was a unique snack from the restaurant. For snacks, we chose the "2-color assortment" (750 yen) which included a green onion mayo and a fluffy egg yolk mayo. Both were flavorful and the octopus was large and tasty, a perfect snack! My friend bought 8 packs of the delicious sauce to go because it was so good. We still talk about coming back even though it's been over 2 months. In between the first and second stops, I made a quick visit to Takohai. The interior of the restaurant is not very spacious, but the outdoor seating area with red carpet is quite nice. The place is small, but cozy. Takoyaki and highball are the specialties of this place. They serve original snacks as appetizers, which is a nice touch. The takoyaki comes in various flavors, which makes it fun to try different ones. The yakisoba was also delicious. The sauce and alcohol probably play a big role in the overall taste. The highball comes in a large glass and the taste washes over your mouth. Eat. Wash. Drink. Repeat. It's a casual and affordable dining experience.

After enjoying sushi at the famous restaurant Kan Sushi in Sapporo, I headed to a bar in Tanukikoji 4-chome to kill time until my next reservation. I immediately ordered a Chinchirorin Highball. I ordered the following dishes: - Kujo Negi Mayo - Rich and delicious sauce - Fluffy egg with spicy cod roe mayo - Octopus and green onion skewers x2 - Octopus legs skewers x2 I also had the following highball drinks: - Super Carbonated Mega Angle Highball x? - Super Carbonated Angle Highball x? - Super Carbonated Giga Angle Highball (Chinchirorin Highball) The fluffy and delicious takoyaki goes perfectly with the highball, making it easy to drink like water! The octopus skewers were full of flavor and delicious, and I was able to drink all the highballs without worrying about the results of the Chinchirorin game. A shop that combines the casualness, convenience, affordability, and decent taste where you can have a drink easily while walking down Tanuki Koji. It's also charming that you can drink outside when it's warm. Fluffy and hot takoyaki with a highball is a great combination. The cucumber is refreshing, and the octopus sausage is delicious. I stayed at a hotel in the city to go bar hopping with friends, and for our first stop, we tried Takohai for the first time! I knew they were famous for their Chinchiro Highball, but I was surprised by the variety of their menu. Since it was warm that day, we sat outside. We ended up eating too much even though we had plans to go somewhere else next (laughs). The salted takoyaki was particularly fresh and really delicious! I'm not a big fan of mayonnaise, so I actually prefer this version. I'll definitely come back to eat here again!

I felt like having something to drink, so I remembered this place that I had given up on before because it was crowded. I arrived around 1 o'clock and it was not busy. I was prompted to disinfect my hands and chose a seat away from the teppan. I already knew what I wanted to order today - the weekday lunchtime drinking set. However, there was no menu available initially. After a short wait, the menu was handed to me and I quickly ordered the lunchtime drinking set. For my first drink, I ordered a green tea highball. It arrived promptly, with a vibrant green color and a strong tea flavor that was refreshing. I also ordered the green onion mayo takoyaki and stir-fried kimchi with bean sprouts. The takoyaki was generously filled with green onions and large pieces of octopus, hot and flavorful. The green tea highball paired well with the dishes. Soon after, the kimchi stir-fry arrived, piping hot and delicious with crunchy bean sprouts and tangy kimchi. It was a perfect match for my second drink, a lemon sour from my favorite izakaya. The ice in the drink helped me cool down. I always find the lemon sour from this izakaya to be tastier when enjoyed at the restaurant. Many people were ordering beer as a single item due to the heat. I will definitely visit again on a weekday.

The first round was lively, followed by a second round after taking care of some errands. I relaxed at a budget hotel. Then, I received a call. We arranged to meet at Donki beside Tanukikoji, and ended up drinking at the nearby "Tako and Highball" place. Ragi left due to no errands, so it was just Hii, Saki, and me. It was around 9 PM on Saturday, and the place was full, but luckily, a table opened up and we slipped in there. They had indoor counter seats and outdoor table seats, which were open and fun with a sense of openness. We started ordering! The ratings are out of 10. Appetizer (310 yen): 8 points You get two bags of takoyaki-flavored rice crackers per person for around 100 yen each. You can also take them home, making them a great souvenir! I took some home with me. Drinks: 8 points There are different types of highballs, starting from 380 yen for a small size, which is quite affordable. I ordered some sours, which were delicious. Although slightly expensive, highballs are a better deal. I ordered three. Three kinds of takoyaki (1150 yen): 8 points The takoyaki itself is very delicious. It might be even better than Gindaco. It's crispy on the outside and fluffy and hot on the inside, closer to deep-fried. There are three kinds: negi mayo, mentaiko mayo, and spicy tanuki. The spicy tanuki is indeed spicy! It was the best for drinking. However, the three kinds set is slightly more expensive per piece compared to ordering individually. Overall rating: 8 points Eating takoyaki while drinking highballs was a combination I don't usually go for, but it was delicious! However, I felt like it could get quite expensive if you eat and drink a lot. It was disappointing that all other menu items were sold out. The staff's service was clean, bright, and pleasant. The takoyaki itself was very tasty! There seems to be another branch in Tanukikoji, so I'd like to try that one too. Just then, at 10 PM, the signboard of the Tanukikoji branch suddenly went out. It was surprising to see it go dark all of a sudden! The escalator to the underground mall was also closed off. We settled the bill and disbanded before 11 PM. (June 11, 2022)

I thought I was done after drinking at Hokkaido Ladder Sake, but on the way back home, I decided to stop by another place! Since there was still time until the last train, and there was one outdoor seat available, I thought, why not (laughs). I ordered a Chinchirorin Highball and got the Mega High size because the regular size had too much ice and didn't feel satisfying (laughs). Even though it was late, the place was quite crowded. Because of that, the drinks took a while to arrive. I finished my Mega High before the ordered mountain wasabi takoyaki arrived, so I had to order another one (laughs). The takoyaki arrived, but the drinks were still not coming... Maybe the floor was a bit overwhelmed? Well, since it's a chain restaurant, the taste was the same as always (laughs). To start with, I tried the "okaki" that is being sold as a souvenir. I want to try it as a snack later (I also want to have it with alcohol). The "eating soy sauce takoyaki" was popular last year for a limited time. The crispy soy sauce flakes alone are worth having with drinks. The freshly baked takoyaki is soft and creamy. The "vinegar octopus" has a strong acidity that complements the firm octopus legs. It's perfect for a break between bites. The "tako ajillo" is cooked with onions and octopus, then simmered in oil. The aroma of garlic is enticing, and the chewy octopus and crunchy onions are a delight. I enjoyed it with the eating soy sauce and Kujyo green onions. The "tako high-yaki" involves breaking down takoyaki, adding ingredients like tempura scraps, red ginger, and egg, then stir-frying cabbage and other toppings in a skillet to make an okonomiyaki-style dish. The generous amount of sauce and mayo on the fluffy batter, combined with the savory flavors of pork and octopus, make it very satisfying. This restaurant seems to have been around since its opening (although this was my first visit, as I had never been interested before). The terrace in front of the restaurant is popular among those who enjoy drinking outside.

Welcome back! It's been a while since I came here, and of course, they still have "Chinchirorin." The first two rounds are half-priced regular jockeys, and the third round is a mega jockey! As expected, they had "Ume Suisho," not shark but bird cartilage, with a really tangy plum flavor that pairs well with sake. The fluffy scrambled eggs on the limited-time "Yam Wasabi Takoyaki" would have been a good choice. The "Takosan Wiener" had a nice octopus visual and a salty kick that goes well with sake. Around noon, the lunchtime drinking crowd gradually shifts to mostly male customers, all drinking while looking at their phones. It was a bit hard to strike up a conversation with the staff in this environment.

I went out to buy clothes, but I got hungry while walking, so I stopped by Takohai. It was around 3 pm, a kind of awkward time, so we were talking about not eating too much, but ended up getting full and going home. We had salt takoyaki, cheese takoyaki, Kujyo green onion takoyaki, takoyaki pizza, a beer (medium size for 200 yen), and lemon sour from a specialty bar (mega size for 100 yen) while playing a fun game. It's so nice to be able to drink comfortably from lunchtime! The takoyaki was piping hot, so be careful not to burn yourself. My recommendation this time is the takoyaki pizza. The crispy cheese on the outside is so delicious that you can just keep drinking with the wing part! I was interested in other foods, but I got too full this time, so I'll settle the bill here.
