【Takeout】Sapporo Citizens' Kitchen Sapporo Central Market Within that central market is the Maruka Center Building, commonly known as Sapporo Asaichi. Here, they sell business-use, specialty food items, etc. It's a wholesale store, so the prices are cheaper than the market price.Visited again around 10:30 on December 28, 2022 When making simmered dishes, I have been using the butterbur from here quite often in recent years. They have a considerable amount of locally sourced butterbur simmered in stock. Not like some empire of unwanted flavors, but properly made with Hokkaido-grown butterbur. Hokkaido-grown butterbur simmered has a good texture, aroma, and flavor. Even when simmered, the taste remains intact. This time, they only had one pack left, but I would like to buy another pack for backup.

【Takeout】Sapporo Citizens' Kitchen Sapporo Central Market Within that central market, there is the Maruka Center Building, also known as Sapporo Asaichi. This place is visited by locals and tourists alike. Inside the Maruka Center, there are shops selling food items for business use, offering slightly unique dishes. Since they are wholesalers, the prices are lower than the market price. =========== 12/26/2021, Morning, Revisited Came to buy ingredients for simmered dishes this year. The ingredients include butterbur, warabi (bracken), kombu (kelp), takenoko (bamboo shoots), dried shiitake mushrooms, aburaage (fried tofu), konnyaku (devil's tongue jelly), atsuage (thick fried tofu), and various types of kamaboko (fish cake). I aim for chikuwa (tube-shaped fish paste), naruto (fish cake with a pink swirl), and kamaboko for variety. I use several types of fish cakes for the umami flavor in the simmered dish, so I always include a few. Unfortunately, they didn't have kamome chikuwa this year, which was a real disappointment. Fish cakes are essential for the umami flavor in the simmered dish, so I always include several types. The simmered dish turned out delicious again this year.

I suddenly had to be hospitalized after a check-up at the beginning of the year. Normally, it takes about a month to make a reservation for hospitalization, but I was admitted right away. This hospitalization is short-term, expected to be about a month. Therefore, I had to pause my reviews on January 5th. Before being hospitalized, I prepared a few reviews. I will reply to the comments on the reviews I receive after I am discharged. I won't be able to comment on your reviews, but I will try to like them as much as possible. I will definitely be back. Thank you in advance. [January 2021] 6th review, so it's light. Although it's the 6th review, there were many visits. "Sapporo Asaichi" is a morning market where wholesalers from the Sapporo Central Wholesale Market mainly operate. The main customers are retail stores and restaurants. There are many seafood-related stores in this morning market. Even famous sushi restaurants come here to purchase ingredients. Normally, general customers do not use this morning market much. At the end of the year, many general customers come to buy ingredients for the New Year. The business days are the same as the "business calendar" of the Sapporo Central Wholesale Market. The holidays for the next year have already been announced. The business hours are from early morning 5 am to 11 am, a total of 6 hours. General customers are not allowed to park until 9 am. For the year-end, a large parking lot is secured a little further away for general customers. The market is open until December 30th. The business for 2021 starts on January 5th. Since my first visit was on January 4th, I started my activities earlier than the market (laughs). "Marudai Ohashi Shoten" is a wholesaler of prepared foods. They handle a variety of products that can be used not only by sushi restaurants and fish stores but also by general restaurants. They have a wide range of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes, but there are many Japanese-style prepared foods. Since they are wholesalers, the products are mainly in large bags for commercial use. They all look delicious, so it's hard to decide. Since all the bags are for commercial use, they are in large quantities. Buying one bag will last a long time, so it's even more difficult to decide (laughs). The wife was in good spirits and was at the store during my visit. This time, our family's regular "Hosaki Takenoko Tosani" was not available. They explained that they couldn't get any in stock. Although I was able to buy it last year, it has been out of stock frequently in recent years. They managed to give me two bags of our family's regular "Crispy Mountain Jellyfish." Since we know each other, they usually deliver it to my house, but this time I was able to take it home. I also bought "Tamba Black Beans" for the first time. I also bought "Dewa Sansai," which was cheap with a close expiration date. ■ Business-use prepared food 1kg bag Crispy Mountain Jellyfish Mountain Jellyfish is a type of lettuce. It is a lettuce that you eat the stem. In China, it was offered to the emperor during the Qing Dynasty, so it is also called the Emperor's Vegetable. It is usually sold in a dried state. It looks like a mountain vegetable. It has a spicy and seasoned taste, with a Chinese-style flavor. The crispy texture is indescribable. It goes well with rice and as a side dish for alcohol. Price: 1 bag 1,242 yen (tax included) Dewa Sansai Soft, cut mountain vegetables For use as an ingredient in soba, udon, rice balls, mixed rice, etc. Price: Originally 1 bag for 1,242 yen → now 432 yen (tax included) ■ Tamba Black Beans Made from large domestic black soybeans. It has a slight sense of luxury. Price: 616 yen (tax included) "Hosaki Takenoko Tosani" is much cheaper and more delicious than buying bamboo shoots and making them yourself (laughs). It was very disappointing that it was not available. Similarly, "Crispy Mountain Jellyfish" is much cheaper and more delicious than making mountain jellyfish yourself. There are few stores that sell mountain jellyfish itself, and it takes time to prepare. Among the "prepared mountain jellyfish," this "Crispy Mountain Jellyfish" is my favorite. It has a perfect taste for rice and as a side dish for alcohol. "Tamba Black Beans" are large and have a slightly luxurious feel. It was suitable for the New Year with its "black beans." As an individual, it takes time to consume the large bags for commercial use, but they are affordable at wholesale prices. For businesses catering to restaurants and retail stores, it is easier to buy in bulk.

When it gets hot, the symptoms worsen, it is a designated rare disease by the government. In December, due to the increased heating in hospitals and various commercial facilities, my condition worsens. Unfortunately, there is no medicine that suits me yet. Likes and comments may be delayed, so thank you for your understanding. This is the 5th review in February 2020, so I'll keep it light. "Sapporo Asaichi" is a morning market run by the wholesalers of the Sapporo Central Wholesale Market. The main customers are retail stores and restaurants. There are many seafood-related stores in this morning market. Even famous sushi restaurants come here to purchase ingredients. It is not usually frequented by general customers. They offer a variety of products that can be used not only by sushi restaurants and fishmongers but also by general eateries. They have a wide range of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes, but Japanese side dishes are predominant. Since they are wholesalers, the products come in large bags for business use. They all look delicious, so it's hard to choose. Since they are all for business use, the quantity is large. If you buy one bag, it will last a while, making it even harder to choose (laughs). This time, they had our household favorite, "Hosaki Takenoko Tosani" available. Lately, it's often out of stock. I prefer this "Hosaki" over the "Hitokuchi Takenoko Tosani," but the manufacturer is sometimes out of stock. The "Hitokuchi Takenoko Tosani" has never been out of stock. I bought two bags of that. I also bought our household favorite, "Crispy Mountain Jellyfish." This time, I also bought the "Shishamo Kikurage" for the first time. I've tried it before as a service. This time, I bought it (laughs). I also bought the "Chestnut Kinunton" for New Year's. ■ Business-use side dish 1 kg bag Crispy Mountain Jellyfish Mountain jellyfish is a type of lettuce. It is a lettuce that is eaten for its stem. In China, it was offered to the emperor during the Qing Dynasty, hence it is also called the Emperor's dish. It is usually sold in a dried state. It looks like a mountain vegetable. It has a spicy taste with a Chinese flavor. The crispy texture is enjoyable, and it has a moderate saltiness. It goes well with rice and as a side dish for alcohol. Hosaki Takenoko Tosani Only the tip of the bamboo shoot is used, which is soft. It is cooked with bonito flakes. The seasoning is different from the general bamboo shoot side dishes, it has a light taste. The flavor of the bamboo shoot and bonito flakes is alive. Even if you eat it three times a day, you won't get tired of it. Skillful seasoning Price: Each bag 1,242 yen (tax included) ■ Shishamo Kikurage Kikurage and Karafuto Shishamo's tsukudani. It has a taste that goes well with rice. Price: Each bag 421 yen (tax included) ■ Chestnut Kinunton Price: 529 yen (tax included) "Hosaki Takenoko Tosani" is much cheaper than buying bamboo shoots and making it yourself. And it's delicious (laughs). The same goes for "Crispy Mountain Jellyfish." There are few stores that sell mountain jellyfish. It has a taste that goes well with rice and as a side dish for alcohol. It's easy to buy at a wholesale price because it's meant for businesses. Stores that cater to restaurants and retailers have a sense of reliability in taste. However, everything looks delicious and affordable, so it's hard to decide what to buy (laughs). Next time, I'll definitely get "Crispy Mountain Jellyfish" and "Hosaki Takenoko Tosani" again. Thank you for the delicious meal.

My desktop computer broke down, but I finally received a new one and am currently in the process of transferring data. It will take a few more days to complete the migration as I am unfamiliar with Windows 10. I will like and comment on posts once the migration is complete. Thank you for your understanding. "Sapporo Asaichi" is a morning market run by wholesalers from Sapporo Central Wholesale Market. It is mainly frequented by retailers and restaurants, especially those in the seafood industry. Famous sushi restaurants also come here for their supplies. While the market is not usually visited by the general public, many people come during the year-end to buy ingredients for the New Year. The market follows the same operating days as the Sapporo Central Wholesale Market, and their holiday schedule for the upcoming year has already been announced. The market is open from 5 am to 11 am, and general parking is generally not allowed until 9 am. During the year-end, a large parking lot is provided for the general public a bit further away from the market. "Mardai Ohashi Shoten" is a wholesaler of prepared foods. They offer a wide variety of products that can be used not only by sushi restaurants and fish markets but also by general eateries. While they have a range of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes, they specialize in Japanese prepared foods. Since they are a wholesaler, their products come in large bags meant for commercial use. It can be overwhelming to choose as all the products look delicious. I purchased our household favorites, the "Hosaki Takenoko Tosani" and the "Crispy Mountain Jellyfish." I also tried the "Slightly Spicy Sesame Fukki" for the first time. The "Crispy Mountain Jellyfish" is a type of lettuce stem with a crispy texture and a slightly spicy seasoning that is reminiscent of Chinese cuisine. It is a delightful snack that goes well with rice or drinks. The "Hosaki Takenoko Tosani" uses only the tender tips of bamboo shoots and has a mild flavor compared to typical bamboo shoot dishes. It has a subtle taste that highlights the bamboo shoots and bonito flakes. The "Slightly Spicy Sesame Fukki" has a firm texture with a slightly spicy and rich seasoning that complements rice well. Each bag costs 1,242 yen (tax included). The "Hosaki Takenoko Tosani" is much cheaper than making bamboo shoot dishes from scratch and is delicious. The "Crispy Mountain Jellyfish" is also a great value and tasty. While the large bags may take time for individuals to consume, the wholesale prices make them accessible. The taste of the products gives a sense of confidence in the quality of the wholesaler. It's hard to choose because everything looks delicious. I will definitely buy the "Crispy Mountain Jellyfish" and the "Hosaki Takenoko Tosani" again next time. Thank you for the delicious meal.

In January 2015, Marudai Ohashi Shoten is a wholesaler of side dishes. They often visit the "Maruka Wholesale Center" for their annual shopping. The morning market at Maruka Wholesale Center is where sushi restaurants and general fishmongers come to buy wholesale goods. Famous sushi restaurants and conveyor belt sushi companies also come here. During the year-end, there are many general customers, leading to a large crowd. Normally, you can park your car in front of the building, but during the year-end, general customers have to park in a slightly distant parking lot. Marudai Ohashi Shoten is a store located within the Sapporo morning market. I visited the store, which is located in the Enzan-Kuwan area of Sapporo's Chuo Ward, within the Maruka Wholesale Center Sapporo morning market. For the exact location, please check on Tabelog. Marudai Ohashi Shoten offers a variety of products that can be used not only by sushi restaurants and general fishmongers but also by general eateries. They have a wide range of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes, with a focus on Japanese side dishes. Since they are a wholesaler, their products are mainly in large bags for business use. I visited in 2014 and 2015 and found all the items to be delicious, making it hard to choose. Since the products come in bulk, it's difficult to decide as buying one bag will last a while. I saw the "Crispy Mountain Jellyfish" which looked delicious, and since I love jellyfish, I bought it. I also bought some Datemaki. When I visited at the beginning of the new year, there were hardly any general customers in the morning market. When I visited in 2015, my companion and I were once again undecided. We ended up buying the "One Bite Bamboo Shoots in Tosani" which was recommended by the shop's staff. They were delighted when I mentioned how delicious the "Crispy Mountain Jellyfish" was, saying it was their top recommendation for jellyfish side dishes. [December 2014] ■ Crispy Mountain Jellyfish Mountain jellyfish is a type of lettuce. It is a lettuce with edible stems. It was presented to the emperor during the Qing Dynasty in China, hence it is also called Emperor's vegetable. It is usually sold in a dried state. It looks like a mountain vegetable. It has a spicy and flavorful taste with a crispy texture, with a hint of saltiness. It goes well with rice and as a side dish for alcohol. Price: 486 yen (including tax) ■ Datemaki The commercially available Datemaki is quite tasty. It has a sweet taste, which my usual companion enjoys. It is a bit too sweet for me. Price: 529 yen (including tax) [January 2015] ■ One Bite Bamboo Shoots in Tosani These bamboo shoots have a firm texture. They are simmered with bonito flakes. Unlike typical bamboo shoot side dishes, the seasoning is light. The flavor of the bamboo shoots and bonito flakes stands out. Price: 1134 yen (including 8% tax) The "One Bite Bamboo Shoots in Tosani" is much cheaper and tastier than buying bamboo shoots and making them yourself. The same goes for the "Crispy Mountain Jellyfish." There are few stores that sell mountain jellyfish. Although they come in large bags for individuals, they are priced at wholesale rates. Stores that cater to businesses like this one offer a sense of reliability in terms of taste. However, all the items are affordable and look delicious, making it difficult to decide what to buy. Next time, I plan to buy one of the three items recommended by the staff. There are three options, but I might have a hard time choosing which one to buy. It was delicious, thank you.

I visited the shop to prepare for the end of the year. They had outlet items, and there were many processed bamboo shoot products. The customer service was good and they were very helpful. I purchased 1kg of dried bamboo shoots for 1020 yen, and a fish cake for 280 yen. I also had a tea-steamed dish of taraba crab and scallop. It was flavored with shiitake mushrooms and seaweed for saltiness and umami. The fish cake was cheap but delicious. It was very tasty. Thank you for the meal!
