5th time at Tokachi Kajikaizushi, cheap and delicious. They have unique items that you can't find elsewhere, like fresh herring sushi. Of course, the classic dishes are also delicious, like the red salmon sushi. I wondered what I bought last year and the year before, but it turns out I bought the exact same thing. Well, these three items are so tasty. My wife never goes for anything adventurous, but that's okay.

The herring rice sushi is delicious as expected, and the red salmon rice sushi is the most delicious despite being the most expensive. The Tobetsu rainbow trout rice sushi is also chewy and thick, especially good. I think these three items are particularly good. I want to buy them not only for the year-end, but also at other times.

This is a specialty rice sushi shop in Hokkaido serving a wide variety of dishes, making it hard to choose. They offer samples of all available items, making it even more difficult to decide. Not only do they sell sushi, but they also kindly explain their manufacturing methods, which is very informative. This time, I purchased autumn salmon, capelin, and mackerel, but scallops, eels, pink salmon, and flounder are also good options.

This is my second time here and I chose to have some year-end food. There are so many options to choose from and it's hard to decide, but this time I tried: local mackerel, surf clam, and red salmon. I sampled a variety of dishes and they were all delicious. Surf clam and mackerel seemed unique so I bought them. While the regular salmon was recommended by the store, the red salmon was the most expensive but also the most delicious.

My wife likes things that smell like an old lady, contrary to her appearance. The salmon at this place is the best for understanding fermentation. The shop recommends Hokkaido autumn salmon the most, but when we compared it with Russian red salmon, this one tasted better, so we bought it. We enjoy eating delicious food at home. My wife says that the most important thing about sushi is that it is soft and chewy. She seemed satisfied.

This was my 6th visit to the restaurant, and they only had salmon, hokke, and red salmon left, so I bought them all. I come here every year to buy these. Please keep up the good work next year too!

I happened to come across a restaurant specializing in fermented rice sushi called Izuushi on a weekend and decided to stop by. The restaurant, called Izuushi Koubou Matsubun, is only open on Sundays, which is quite unusual. Izuushi is a traditional dish made from fermented rice, popular in Hokkaido and the Hokuriku region. It is not commonly eaten by younger generations, as it is more of an old-fashioned dish that my grandparents used to enjoy. The restaurant was small, with just a few products on display, indicating that their main business is probably in factory production and online sales. They offered samples of various types of Izuushi, such as special autumn salmon, hotate, and hokke. I personally enjoyed the autumn salmon and hotate the most. They also had samples of mentaiko and taramo available for tasting and purchase. Since they primarily focus on online sales, you can easily purchase their products without visiting the store. I would recommend it to those who enjoy Izuushi. In February 2016, I lined up at the ramen shop next to this one with my son, but stopped to shop here along the way. The shop was small and only open on Sundays. They offered handmade rice sushi, which is a fermented food that is only eaten during New Year's. I tried samples of salmon, hokke, hatata, and kajika rice sushi. I ended up buying the salmon rice sushi and spicy cod roe. The salmon rice sushi had large pieces of salmon with a nice acidity and texture. The spicy cod roe was smooth with low salt content.
