I have been eating the summer limited edition lemon pie (1350 yen) for two weeks in a row, haha. I had been curious about it for a while and finally decided to buy it, but now I regret not buying it sooner. The cream, the crispy bottom crust, and the slightly fizzy lemon cream in between, everything is amazing!! It looks cute, tastes great, and is worth the price, so I highly recommend it! I think people who like it will really get hooked. When I asked the staff about the sales period, they said it's usually until the end of August, but this year, due to the hot weather, they plan to sell it until around September 14th. I wish it could become a regular item instead of being limited to summer...

I have a bunch of old drafts piling up and while it would be easy to just let them go unused, you know how some people just can't throw anything away, they're not into decluttering... that's my wife haha. I'm pretty good at getting rid of stuff, but when it comes to Food Log topics, I had a period where I struggled and thinking about that makes it hard to throw things away. Years go by and memories fade, plus there's no freshness in posting it so it's not useful for readers... Anyway, this is about "Yuheim" at Daimaru Sapporo. My wife loves their "Croquant" and we buy it regularly or should I say she makes me buy it. This time, we stopped by on our way back from wandering around the city on Sunday. We bought the "Croquant" and the "Apple Pie". The Croquant has a crispy outer layer and a moist, pie-like texture inside, creating a delightful contrast (according to my wife). I've had it a few times in the past and it's known for its ultimate subtle sweetness and simple taste, yet it has been a popular item on their menu for a long time. The "Apple Pie" has a mild acidity in the apple compote and overall, it's not too sweet. The pie crust isn't too crispy either. There are plenty of delicious apple pies out there, so it's hard not to compare. I'll probably visit this place again from time to time. Thank you for the meal.

After visiting the hospital, I went to Yuhaimu at Daimaru and they still had it! (Marui was sold out of everything except Mille-feuille) "Chocolate Cookies" are individually wrapped! There are two types of cookies, 7 of each. The left side has "Chocolate & Plain Cookies" and the right side has "Chocolate & Cashew Nut Cookies". Both have a crispy texture, and the chocolate flavor is quite strong. The cashew nuts are fragrant and delicious. After finishing them all, I wonder what I should put in the container next. After my medical check-up, I was wandering around Daimaru and came across "Yuheim" collaborating with Lisa Larson, offering a variety of products. I wanted to buy all of them, but I ended up selecting 3 items: "Baum Brucke," which is a cute mini Baumkuchen coated with milk chocolate. It's a bit tricky to hold because the chocolate is evenly coated on the back and sides. The vanilla-flavored Baumkuchen with a gentle milk chocolate coating is likely to be enjoyed by children. "Millefeuille Berry & Gianduja" comes in a tin with four each of berry and gianduja millefeuille. The "Berry" has a crispy millefeuille filled with strawberry and raspberry cream, coated with white chocolate. The sweet and sour cream paired with the mellow white chocolate is a good match. The "Gianduja" features a rich and fragrant gianduja cream coated with bitter chocolate, which tastes delicious. The "Biscuit Assortment" includes 9 types of small cookies: 1. Butter cookie with crispy almond topping, 2. Caramelized swirl pie crust, 3. Meringue with nutty chocolate coating, 4. Chocolate chip cookie with acidic chocolate, 5. Plain and chocolate dough twisted into a rope-like cookie, 6. Crispy bitter cocoa cookie, 7. Crispy cookie with sweet and sour strawberry jam, 8. Piped chocolate cookie with a good cocoa scent, 9. Meringue with a hint of saltiness and sweetness, plus the nutty aroma of pistachio. There was also a Harriet (hedgehog pattern) product in a small yellow square tin with chocolate cookies, but I didn't buy it because I already bought chocolate cookies from Salo Choco. I wonder if I should have bought it after all. I ordered a set of 3 authentic butter pound cakes that were being sold for Christmas gifts. I originally bought them as gifts, but ended up not needing to send them, so I decided to just eat them myself. Both the pound cakes and the Baumkuchen had a moist texture. The sweetness was relatively mild, but with plenty of butter in them. The fruit pound cake had a nice fruity sweetness which balanced it out. The size of the cakes made them easy to choose as gifts. Although it was a shame this time, I will definitely stop by again when choosing gifts. Thank you for the meal.

I received Almond & Macadamia Chocolate Sablé as a souvenir! The lovely packaging adds to the excitement! There are 3 each of two types of chocolate sablé: Almond sweet chocolate and Macadamia white chocolate! Each has a calorie count of 84kcal and 88kcal, which is quite moderate. Both are not too sweet, with a perfect balance of nutty aroma and crispy sablé texture! They are surprisingly delicious! They also look cute and would make a great gift!

I arrived at Sapporo Station around 2 o'clock and was feeling hungry. I decided to buy a cake to eat at the hotel, and as I wandered around, the thought of Yuhaimu, which is said to be free of additives, crossed my mind. There was a vanilla cake available only on weekends. I thought to myself, "What am I going to do with such a big cake all by myself?" But then I thought, I can eat half now and take the other half back with me. The cake is fine at room temperature. It's just a cake with buttercream sandwiched between sponge layers, similar to certain pastries. The difference is that there are no additives, which I believe adds to the deliciousness. I ate half and felt satisfied. The staff were nice, and I remembered coming to this shop with my cousin at night. My cousin also bought this cake, so I felt happy to have contributed to the shop in some way.

I visited because I was craving something sweet. There were so many options to choose from, but this time I bought the "Florentine Cake" and the "Rich and Smooth Pudding." The Florentine Cake is a cake sandwiched with whipped cream in choux pastry. It was my first time trying it, and it was really delicious. The crispy texture of the pastry was great! I passed by Yuhaim the other day and got curious, so I ended up buying this cake later on. I'm a bit of a trend follower, haha. The Flokkenzane Torte had a crumbly top like a crumble, with a slightly chewy layer underneath the crispy crust. The cream was layered in between, and the bottom cookie-like part was crunchy. The sliced almonds were densely packed on top, giving it a foreign dessert vibe. It felt like a mix between a mille-feuille and a cream puff if they were turned into a cake. It's not something you'd easily find at other cake shops, and the texture was really interesting. I think people who like cream puffs would enjoy this! However, it was heavily dusted with powdered sugar, and it said "tip it over to eat" on the packaging. But it ended up being really messy and difficult to eat that way, so I'd recommend being cautious if you're giving it as a gift to a new couple or something. It's great for eating alone though!

This is Yuheim located near Daimaru in Sapporo Station. I felt like buying some souvenirs to take home, so I decided to buy something light and easy to eat. I didn't want to get scolded for buying something too extravagant, so I chose something like chiffon cake, souffle, donuts, or pudding which they wouldn't complain about. I found this vanilla cake while wandering around. It cost 648 yen. I'm not exactly sure what a vanilla cake is, but it looked nice stacked up, so I decided to buy it. It's a fluffy sponge cake with vanilla cream in between layers, and it has a snowy-like powder on top. It's a simple cake in both appearance and taste. Eating it felt a bit unsatisfying without whipped cream or fruits, and it didn't have the special feeling of a souffle. My family was also a bit puzzled by this dessert. Overall, it was an ??? sweet treat. Thank you for the meal.

While watching a recorded TV program, I felt like having some cake and ended up buying eclairs, chestnut rolls, vanilla choux cream, and frosted nettle torte from "Yuheim Daimaru Sapporo." I enjoyed them over two days at home. I love cream, but unfortunately, I didn't quite like Yuheim's choux pastry, as it wasn't to my taste. It's just a matter of personal preference. I will like and comment as soon as I can. This is my second review in October 2018, so I will keep it light. Yuhaimu was founded in 1909 and is headquartered in Kobe. Yuhaimu has several brands, such as "Karl Yuhaimu" and "Yuhaimu De Maestro." Each brand offers different products. I found a new product, the "Red Delicious Apple Pie" in a whole size. My usual companion loves the "Red Delicious Apple Pie," so I naturally bought it. Limited edition Red Delicious Apple Pie - Whole The Red Delicious Apple Pie is a classic from Yuhaimu. Red Delicious apples are originally from America and are great for processing. The pie crust is very crispy, made with butter from Hokkaido. It has a subtle cinnamon flavor and plenty of delicious apples inside. The pie also contains Yuhaimu's signature baumkuchen, giving it a moist texture. It's priced at 846 yen (tax included), making it a great deal. The taste is just like the regular Red Delicious Apple Pie. I wonder what sweet treat I'll try next time. It was delicious, thank you.

I received a Leap Hen as a thank you from an acquaintance. I feel embarrassed because I didn't do much. Yuhaimu has many sweets with a rich buttery flavor. I especially like Amaretti. It also includes almonds, macadamia nuts, almond gianduja, and hazelnut gianduja. I tend to eat too much, so I should limit myself to one a day.

During a business trip, I bought a "Cheesecake Souffle for 540 yen" as a souvenir for my daughter. She had told me to bring back something delicious, so I chose this limited edition item. We tried it the next day as a family. My daughter said it was delicious and asked me to buy it again. When I asked my wife which was better, the cheesecake or the souffle, she said they were both good and that they couldn't be compared because they were made differently. It seems like cheesecake and souffle are similar yet different. I still have a lot to learn about the world of desserts.

Well well, I visited Yuhaimu at Sapporo Daimaru (^_^) This time, I tried the Koenig cake instead of the Kryna cake, and it was a good cake with dry fruits and the aroma of liqueur.
