I purchased this while visiting a facility in Otaru. I ate it on the Airport Liner on the way back. The taste was quite average, lacking a distinct mochi texture. Overall, it didn't leave much of an impression. Thank you for the meal. Food eaten: Daifuku, 160 yen.

Morimoto feels like a typical cake shop you would find at a mall, maybe because it's part of a shopping center like Ion. However, it seems like the prices have gone up a bit. When buying from Morimoto, I prefer something in the 300 yen range. So this time, I opted for the cheaper option, a shortcake to go. It doesn't have a strong fruit flavor, but the sweet cream gives you the satisfaction of eating cake. It's good enough for the price.

I sometimes stop by Nagasakiya when I come here! I was thinking of buying a cake, but the cake section was crowded, so I checked out the bread section instead. I used to like the small and cute bread sold by weight, it was fun to be able to buy various things depending on my mood that day. It's sad that they're not doing it in this day and age. "Huh? Melon Pan Rusk?!" I love the cookie part on top of Melon Pan! I also love rusks!! So I decided to get this instead of the cake. - Melon Pan Rusk ¥320 (tax included?) Hmm... it has a bit of margarine flavor? The cookie part on top of Melon Pan is a bit lacking, the rusk is cut into squares like Melon Pan, and it has a subtle Melon Pan flavor, but it's mostly just a normal rusk, not very strong as a "Melon Pan Rusk". I wish it had more of the cookie part. On a side note... the Melon Pan at Tomowa on Yanagawa Street is delicious. They have the Melon Pan head for tasting, and it's really delicious! I wish they would sell those in bulk, even if they're a bit expensive, I think they would sell well. It's a shame to just have them for tasting! (I asked once, but they said they don't sell them, haha)

Recently, I haven't been receiving many gifts. I used to get various gifts before, but it's been a while since I last visited "Morimoto"さん. When it comes to souvenirs, I tend to choose items from well-known confectionery shops in Hokkaido like "Yagizuki," "Rokkatei," or "Hokkaro." "Morimoto" in Chitose is considered a step below. I bought some baked goods as a gift while running errands. It was my first time trying Morimoto's baked goods, which came in six flavors: strawberry, cheese, coconut, butter, haskap, and chocolate. The haskap flavor had a Chitose touch to it. Both flavors were safe choices, so I still tend to choose gifts based on brand image.

It was located on the 1st floor of Nagasaki-ya in front of Otaru Station. I never expected to find a "Morimoto" store in Otaru... I didn't have time to stop at Chitose Station where the main store is located, so it was a happy discovery. Hello (^o^)/ "Morimoto" is famous for its "Hascup Jewelry," a popular Hokkaido souvenir. However, I am a fan of the Japanese sweets at this store. Unfortunately, I didn't find any handmade dorayaki that I encountered at the Chitose store, but I did find freshly harvested new red bean dorayaki, so I got them! ・Dorayaki Nouveau 3 pieces (621 yen) By the way, they were also selling them at New Chitose Airport (^_^;) I made an additional purchase at the airport. They have a pleasant sweetness and are easy to eat (^^)b Delicious! I'm not comparing them to regular dorayaki, so I can't tell the difference with Nouveau ones, just a simple foodie (^_^;) Thank you for the meal o(^o^)o (Review rating ★3.03)

Suddenly craving something sweet, I headed to Morimoto's. The showcase was filled with delicious-looking cakes as usual. This day, they seemed to be featuring melon shortcake, with lots of cakes topped with fresh melon slices. However, what caught my eye was the seasonal blueberry cake. The light purple cream looked so fluffy and delicious. I couldn't resist and ordered it. When I got home and tried it, it was delicious. The cream and sponge were not too sweet, allowing the fruity flavors to shine. The sweet blueberries on top and the even sweeter blueberry sauce inside paired perfectly with the mildly sweet sponge. Highly recommended.

I went to buy a cake from Morimoto's. There were many varieties to choose from, which got me excited. After much deliberation, I decided on the classic King's Shortcake. The strawberries were sweet and tangy, and the cake was big with a satisfying texture. The sponge cake was not too sweet, just right, and paired well with the subtly sweet cream. It was delicious until the last bite! My friend had the blueberry cake, which looked very tasty, so I plan to try that next time.

I visited the shop on a Saturday around 12:00 noon. The shop is located on the first floor of Nagasaki-ya in Otaru. This time, it was my first visit to Morimoto. Morimoto has its main store in Chitose, and it has quite a few branch stores, making it one of the representative sweets shops in Hokkaido. The cakes in the showcase had a bright and colorful atmosphere. Among the cakes, although it was in a corner, I was drawn to the "Rich and Generous" cake, so I decided to choose it. - New Year Strawberry Shortcake 390 yen: The whipped cream was pleasantly sweet with a rich taste. The sponge was soft and fluffy. However, when I ate it the next morning after purchasing it, the bottom part of the sponge felt a bit dry. The top was covered with whipped cream, and the sides were covered with a transparent film, which prevented it from drying out completely. But since the bottom was covered with a paper sheet, it couldn't completely prevent it from drying out. So, it's best to eat cakes on the same day. - Rich and Generous Tiramisu 430 yen: The portion was incredibly huge! It was about 3-4 times the size of a regular tiramisu you would get in other shops. The top half was a cream layer, and the bottom half was a sponge layer, making it a very simple tiramisu. The cream used was made from Hokkaido-produced mascarpone cheese. It tasted similar to the whipped cream in the Strawberry Shortcake, but somehow, it felt a bit different from the tiramisu cream I had in mind. The mascarpone cheese used is usually imported (mainly from Italy), so maybe the difference in flavor comes from using Hokkaido-produced mascarpone cheese? Also, the sponge part at the bottom was a bit disappointing. It felt too dense, as if it had been compressed. It's understandable that it would get heavier due to soaking up coffee or espresso, but compared to other shops, it was definitely too heavy. And it was a bit too sweet. Normally, the bitterness of espresso would balance out the overall flavor, but here, the lack of bitterness and excessive sweetness made it feel overly sweet and heavy. - Rich and Generous Cheesecake 430 yen (A fluffy lemon-scented, rich-tasting cheesecake): The structure was the same as the tiramisu, with the top half being cheesecake and the bottom half being sponge. The description mentioned a lemon scent, but I didn't really get any lemon flavor, and the cheesecake part lacked the cheesy and acidic flavors. It seemed like a safe flavor profile aimed at the majority, including children. I prefer a bit more edge or a balance between sweetness and acidity. The berry sauce on top was overly sweet and lacked acidity. It was less sweet overall than the tiramisu, which was good. Well, considering the price, the portion size, and the quality, it's not realistic to expect the same level as other patisseries. Thank you for the meal. Thank you for reading today as well.

I bought a selection of sweets. I don't really like anything except for dango from Araragiya. It's convenient to have Morimoto here. I wish there were several famous sweet shops in Otaru like in front of the station, but Otaru people have become more accepting of sweets that are not from Otaru if they are delicious. The lady is kind and even wraps the items in cute packaging. It's helpful that you can buy bread, Japanese sweets, and Western sweets here.

Now, I came to Otaru and made my first visit to Nagasakiya Morimoto. I was drawn to the Tamago Manju from Chitose, priced at 110 yen tax included. The package covered it, as is often the case, but once opened, it revealed a small manju. However, true to its name, the Tamago Manju had a delicious yellow bean paste that mixed well with the white bean paste. The sweetness was just right and it was tasty. Thank you for the meal! In front of Otaru Station, on the first floor of Nagasaki-ya, there are various dining options such as the ramen shop "Ginhairo", and the spaghetti shop "Chirorin Mura" which have been thriving. In September 2013, "Morimoto" also opened in the same area, offering bread sold by weight such as 1g = 1 yen, 1g = 1.5 yen. They have a wide variety of small-sized pastries like croissants, melon bread, croquette bread, and sesame red bean paste bread. This is convenient for the elderly customers who frequent Nagasaki-ya. Although there is no seating area inside Morimoto in Otaru, they have a spacious outdoor area which can be utilized. Occasionally, karaoke contests are held in this space, offering a unique experience in the heart of Otaru. On February 9, 2015, our daughter bought us a cake for our anniversary, which was delicious. Thank you very much, and it was a great meal.

I felt like I didn't need to buy anything from Morimoto even in Otaru, so I didn't go in the other day. My mother wanted to eat chestnut sweets, so I thought they might have them here. It would make a good New Year's gift, but there was only one left. The staff seemed apologetic, and the expiration date is until tomorrow, but they were kind. I decided to try the egg bun since I've never had it before. I was also tempted by the bread sold by weight. Ten an-doughnuts for 261 yen. I thought the Stollen was unusual, two for 100 yen. It was different from what I imagined. It had a filling like cream inside the Stollen. The egg bun had a subtle egg scent and taste. But I still prefer Morimoto's products like Yuki-Tsuru, Milfe, Haskap Jewelry, and Tomato Jelly. The cakes were very popular and sold out. Maybe the people in Otaru are not buying the cakes here as much as they used to.

Welcome! At Morimoto Atrium, located near the escalator on the first floor of Nagasaki-ya in Otaru City, they were holding a karaoke contest where elderly participants were giving it their all. On the right side, there were cakes and Japanese sweets, while on the left side, there were bread and baked goods. The clientele seemed to be evenly split between young and old, making it a fun atmosphere to observe. The bakery had a long line, and there were store-exclusive cakes available. The staff, with their friendly smiles, seemed to be struggling to keep up with the elderly customers. One of the store-exclusive items was a creamy honey lemon pudding with a jelly-like honey lemon on top. The lemon flavor was stronger than the honey, and the pudding had a smooth texture with a noticeable egg and cheese taste. It would have been nice to have a hint of bitterness from caramel at the bottom. Another store-exclusive item was a cheese tart with a cocoa flavor. The crust was moist due to time constraints, and the cocoa flavor was more prominent than the cheese. In hindsight, it would have been nice to alternate between the honey lemon pudding and the cheese tart. The great thing about Morimoto is that each store has its own exclusive items. Thank you for the delicious meal!

When I visited Morimoto and went to Nagasakiya for almond jelly, I also saw their authentic arrowroot almond jelly. I love almond jelly, so I bought it right away. The price was around 300 yen, I think? I forgot the exact price, but maybe because they use authentic arrowroot, it has a bouncy texture that bounces back when you try to scoop it with a spoon, which is exciting. I thought it would have a bouncy texture when I put the spoon in, but it was smooth and not too sweet, so I ended up eating one quickly. Morimoto's classic products like Yukitsuru and Yukimushi souffle are always a hit for me. Morimoto itself offers a variety of attractive products like bread and baked goods, and they seem to put effort into developing new products, so I look forward to what they will come up with next.

I received a souvenir from a friend in Hokkaido. When I opened the bag they gave me to take back home, I was surprised to find a variety of sweets inside. It turns out they were from a local sweets shop called Morimoto. While names like Rokkatei, LeTAO, and Kitakaro are more commonly associated with tourist souvenirs in Hokkaido, Morimoto seems to be a favorite among locals. I visited a Morimoto store in Sapporo before, which was located in shopping malls like AEON and Ito Yokado, making it easy for locals to purchase their sweets. They offer a wide range of sweets, including Western-style and Japanese-style treats. Among the selection, my favorite was the tamago manju, with its delicious egg flavor and sweetness. The castella had a nice crunchy texture from the crystallized sugar on top. The busses had Hokkaido's specialty haskap berries, which provided a unique balance of sourness and sweetness. I still have more to try, so I'm looking forward to enjoying them tonight. Everything was delicious. Thank you for the treat!

Mori Moto is famous for its Haskap berry sweets. Their 5 types of jewelries are limited edition items for their anniversary. I visited their booth at the Hokkaido Fair at Nagoya Mitsukoshi Hoshigaoka store for the second time. Since the Hokkaido Fair at JR Nagoya Takashimaya has been canceled, I won't be able to enjoy Hokkaido sweets for a while, so I decided to make a purchase. I also bought the "Northern Stroll" Haskap berry thick chocolate cookie. It consists of sweet and sour confiture, Haskap berry chocolate, and crispy cookies.

Received gifts from colleagues at the workplace when retiring at the age of 65. Included in the gifts were a creamy pudding, rich tiramisu, chocolate financiers, and a round chocolate tart. If I were to choose one to eat, I would go for the affordable and watery pudding. But the tiramisu was so rich that it disappeared quickly. It took me three days to finish it. I love the bitterness of the financiers and the sweetness of chocolate, but the financiers had a unique taste, perhaps due to the addition of alcohol. The small round chocolate tart had a crunchy texture from the cocoa nibs. I wondered about the contents from the packaging, but it turned out to be delicious. I was told that cocoa nibs are a superfood.
