For lunch on this day, I met with a former colleague at a restaurant near the office. We have a monthly lunch meeting. We decided to try DIYO, a restaurant we didn't go to last time, along the Tomakomai Bypass. Despite offering unlimited naan and rice, they have menu items for less than 1000 yen, which is quite reasonable. The staff, while not fluent, spoke Japanese reasonably well. I ordered the deer meat curry, which was very tender. I asked for a "spicy" level of spiciness, and it was delicious without being too hot. The rice portion was larger compared to other restaurants. I ordered a medium turmeric rice, which would be a large size at other places. I later heard from my boss that the naan is also large and the cheese naan is excellent. I wish I had known that before going.

I came here after a long time. I never know how to pronounce the name. Haha, Daiyo? I had talked about taking my kids here because they love the cheese naan, and the opportunity finally came! All the staff are foreigners. My kids and I had chicken curry, with the kids having no spice and me choosing medium spice level 3, while my wife had chicken sag curry with spice level 4. It wasn't too spicy, maybe even level 4 would have been okay! Then the cheese naan arrived! It's huge! I had turmeric rice, my wife had plain naan. It's all you can eat, but we couldn't eat much. Haha, we did get seconds though! The naan is also big! It's sticking out and sharp! Haha, the kids were happy with the cheese naan! The curry was delicious, and the naan was tasty too! But don't underestimate the size of the cheese naan! It's quite a challenge for one person to finish one piece! So when my wife and I go, we share one piece! But the cheese stretching and hot naan is delicious! If I feel like going again, I will definitely come back!

I wanted to eat naan curry and lots of naan, so I decided to stop by this restaurant. The interior was spacious with a choice of raised seating or regular chairs. My husband's friend also joined us. We each ordered our favorite curry and shared them. When we asked for more naan, we requested a half portion, which was just the right amount even for women. When you're unsure of what to eat or feeling lazy to cook, this is a great place to visit.

The other day, while driving and thinking about what to eat, I saw a sign and decided to visit a restaurant where a few cars were parked. I want to eat naan after a long time. So let's go to "DIYO"! Although it is considered a chain with 4 stores in Hokkaido, I have been curious about it for a long time, especially after seeing Hoshinoboshi's review. The place was busy with customers coming in one after another, indicating its popularity. I ordered the "Garlic Naan Set (¥1250)" with "Kadai Seafood Curry", spiciness level 20! The set includes 4 pieces of garlic naan, salad, chicken tikka, achar, and lassi, and you can freely choose from over 40 types of curry without any additional charge, which is a great deal! The curry can be paired with plain naan, rice, or turmeric rice for ¥1150, and you can upgrade to garlic naan for an additional ¥200. The lassi served first was delicious, with a refreshing yogurt flavor. The naan was hot and crispy on the outside with a chewy texture inside. The garlic flavor, sweetness of the dough, and the aroma of garlic make it irresistible. The seafood curry was packed with peeled shrimp, squid, and some kind of shellfish, and the spiciness level 20 was just right, balancing heat with flavor. The "Kadai" curry, a tomato-based curry seasoned with onions, chili peppers, and ginger, was new to me and had a spicy yet mild taste. Despite the high spiciness level, the curry was flavorful and enjoyable. The chicken tikka, though slightly cold, was tender and slightly spicy. I was full but couldn't resist getting more plain naan. The second serving was even hotter and had a stronger buttery aroma. When I visit this type of curry restaurant, I would definitely order a set with a variety of curry options. It was a delicious naan and curry experience after a long time. Thank you for the meal.

Osechi is nice, but curry is also good!... Although it's quite old, this catchy slogan is really effective. How many people have been tempted by New Year's curry because of this phrase... On January 2nd, although I haven't gotten tired of osechi, I started eating out with curry. The type of Nepalese curry served here is simple and traditional, a standard in Japan. Personally, I recommend the red paste here. It has a mild tomato flavor with a good balance of richness and oiliness. The "Kadai Mutton Spicy" has plenty of ingredients and delicious umami. Even with my low tolerance for spiciness, I can eat it... or rather, I recommend going spicier if you're having it with rice. The spice kick after drinking alcohol hits the spot in a stomach filled with dal from "The Lonely Gourmet" binge-watching. It's a good pick-me-up for a laid-back New Year's.

I have been to this restaurant with my wife and a colleague from work. We have been there at least 10 times since it opened! The set menus, variety of curry options, and levels of spiciness always offer something new to discover each time. We plan to keep going back regularly! The rice and naan are all-you-can-eat, but the standard portion size is already quite filling. This time, I had the cheese naan set for lunch, but I asked to switch it to garlic cheese naan. My wife pointed out my garlic breath for a few days, but it was worth it. The cheese wasn't too salty, and paired well with the curry. It was delicious. The restaurant was a bit cold in December, but I wonder if that was intentional to prepare us for the spicy curries.

I suddenly felt like eating naan... First visit (*´꒳`*) I chose the Himalaya set for 1080 yen, which includes chicken curry and eggplant keema curry♫ The naan, which is about 20cm x 40cm in size, was surprisingly... unlimited refills!!! Even though I usually eat very little, I ended up eating one and a half pieces because it was so delicious♡ My stomach is feeling so full~~~ In conclusion, I am currently in the process of increasing my weight due to this amazing naan!笑

According to the record on November 15, 2020 (Sunday), it was my first visit in over two years. I arrived right after the restaurant opened and was the first customer. Soon after, more customers started coming in. I ordered the Lamb Sag Curry with a spice level of 4, and also the Momos (Nepalese-style dumplings). I used a LINE coupon to get a free plain lassi. The Lamb Sag Curry had a strong flavor and a good texture, with a noticeable taste of lamb. I prefer it over eating lamb directly. Although many people around me don't like it... The Momos, Nepalese-style dumplings, were a side dish that I had been wanting to try for a while. They looked more like soup dumplings than regular dumplings, but they were filled with minced meat and had a satisfying taste. After eating the side dishes, I didn't need to order extra naan bread, as I was already full. I realized that the spice level of 4 wasn't enough for me, so I might try level 5 next time. Thank you for the delicious Lamb Sag Curry and Momos!

It's been a while since I visited "DIYO," a Nepalese curry restaurant. I always enjoy coming here! This time, I chose the "Spinach Paste" with "Shrimp Curry," "Chicken Curry," and "Seekh Kebab." The shrimp curry was medium spicy, the chicken curry was slightly spicy, and I ordered naan. Naan refills are free! I ended up getting a refill (^◇^;) Now, let's dig in! - The spinach paste is really good! - The shrimp was nice and firm! It was delicious~ (^^) I think I'll try the cheese naan next time, haha.

Kadai Mutton - Spicy - ¥1,150 This Kadai curry is my favorite among DIY curries, despite being tomato-based. The tomato flavor is subtle, with plenty of tender mutton and crunchy onions. I opted for extra spiciness this time, but even with my low tolerance for heat, I managed to enjoy it. I felt that the level of spiciness in this curry was the most balanced.

The curry is onion-based, but it feels like it's lacking a bit of richness. I personally think the tomato-based Kadai Masala curry at this restaurant is tastier. Even though it's level 4 spiciness, it's not very hot. If someone like me, who doesn't have a high tolerance for spicy food, feels this way, then I imagine spicy food lovers might find it lacking. When I eat spicy food, I usually sweat a lot from my face and head, but recently, I've been eating spicy curry more often and seem to be getting used to it because this time, I didn't sweat as much.

The garlic cheese naan was a bit too strong with raw garlic flavor, but my friend managed to eat it despite tearing up. The cheese naan, on the other hand, had a nice gooey cheese filling and a chewy texture that I enjoyed. The shrimp curry was tomato-based and mild, which paired well with the cheese naan. Overall, the combination of Nepalese curry and naan was delicious, and I'm already thinking of going back to my usual spot in Sapporo when I return. The staff members seemed to be from Nepal. When asked "Is it delicious?" and replied "Delicious!" they had a satisfied and cute expression. I finally found a Sag Maton curry that I liked. For those who usually eat store-bought curry at a medium spice level, I think the level 2 spiciness is just right. However, it would have been even better if they had provided a wet towel from the beginning since you have to grab the naan with your bare hands. It was included in the takeout, so I think they would bring it if you asked, but I thought they didn't have it, so I managed with the tissues provided.

When looking at the restaurant flyer, I noticed that this chain is actually originally from Suriya Honten. Leaving that aside... Dharma Tonkare Curry - Level 5 spiciness (extremely spicy) for 1,150 yen. Yellow paste. Although it is said to be extremely spicy at level 5, when focusing only on the spiciness, it feels quite safe. However, in the case of Dhal curry, the sharp spiciness is slightly spoiled by the richness and texture of the beans. Therefore, the sharp spiciness, the original umami, the taste of lamb meat, and various flavor elements felt somewhat disjointed in terms of "balance and fusion." If you choose Dhal curry, it might be safer to aim for a spiciness level around 4, focusing on the balance with umami. And perhaps Dhal curry goes well with naan due to its texture. With saffron rice, the flavor tends to be vague and the texture can become mushy.

On the day of the earthquake on September 6th, this restaurant was offering curry and naan for free, despite being affected by the disaster! They ran out of ingredients halfway through and had to end the offer, but it was truly appreciated. I realized that I haven't had their curry and naan in a while, so I decided to go there. Since they worked hard during the disaster, I wanted to at least repay them by enjoying their curry. I ordered the "Mutton Sag Curry (medium spicy) + Naan (free) for 1,150 yen," while my wife ordered the "Chicken Curry (mild) + Naan (free) for 880 yen." We also ordered the "Shish Kebab for sharing for 580 yen." Now, onto the tasting! I thought the mutton curry was a bit too spicy, and my wife enjoyed the mild chicken curry. The Shish Kebab lacked depth of flavor but was still enjoyable. The naan was delicious, slightly sweet, and went well with the curry. We realized that if one person ordered rice, they could enjoy both naan and rice. Overall, a great experience, and I heard that a new branch will be opening in Kushiro in October.
