Located about 15 minutes from Sapporo city center by subway, there is a place called Hiraoka Golden Street near Hiraoka Station. I visited this Hiraoka Golden Street for the first time and found it to be a very atmospheric and deep place. In this deep place, I discovered a hidden gem of a Japanese izakaya. The entrance is not visible from the outside, so it may take some courage to enter. However, once inside, I found a sophisticated adult Japanese izakaya with a calm atmosphere that exceeded my expectations. The dishes were also creatively prepared and incredibly delicious! I had already made a reservation for my next stop, so I couldn't eat too much this time, but I definitely want to try their course menu next time! I will definitely visit again.

I was pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of dishes and drinks available, from fugu shirako to various cuts of beef, salt-grilled shrimp, and grilled silver cod cheeks. Now, this restaurant is called "Earth Rock" in Hiragishi Golden Street, which I found out about when a self-proclaimed PR director sitting next to me brought me here. Yumura? Murayu? Which one was it... (sweat) I used to not like sake after turning 20, but this one is delicious♪ It's nice to drink it in a glass instead of a small cup♪ Also, the lighting was a bit dim that day, maybe because it was late, and the candlelight atmosphere was amazing! And when I tried the PR director's recommended cheese platter... smoked camembert? Absolutely delicious!! The contents may vary depending on the day, but I also love the variety of sweet potato shochu they have. My favorite is "Tou," and I always order it. The maguro (tuna) brain sashimi is delicious! It comes in a set of brain, brain side, and cheek. It melts in your mouth. The staff at the restaurant has a hunting license and also recommends deer dishes. Even though I'm not a fan of deer, I found the carpaccio easy to eat. In May, the restaurant hosts a cherry blossom viewing event. I wonder if they'll do it this year too...
