In April of the 29th year of Heisei, there is a restaurant located in Kakuyama, Ebetsu City, on National Route 275. I often pass by the front of the store for work, but based on the appearance of the store, it didn't seem to be thriving. The first visit was with the president of the company I work for. The day before, in the evening, the president ordered, "Don't bring a bento tomorrow. My wife has work, so there won't be a bento." So, the next day at lunchtime, we went to Ramen Dosanko for the first time. I had visited a local store once when I was driving a truck for a mainland delivery in my younger days, but I had never been to a local store. There used to be Dosanjo in Makomanai, right? It closed down. The menu we ordered on the first visit that day was the President's Ramen Set (Miso Ramen and Small Curry) and my own Ramen Set (Miso Ramen, Gyoza, and Half-Fried Rice). When going with the president, taking photos of the food is strictly prohibited. The Miso Ramen is based on tonkotsu and chicken bone broth, with no fishy smell. Perhaps due to artificial seasonings, there is a strong taste of MSG-like aftertaste. It is quite salty. The chashu pork melts perfectly with a mix of lean and fatty meat. The fried rice is okay. On the second visit, the president ordered two items of Genghis Khan and a small rice. The Genghis Khan is enjoyed in a small raised seating area. There is a gas stove, a Genghis Khan pot, and Kanehiro's seasoned Genghis Khan, as well as vegetables like bean sprouts, green peppers, and onions. We added another order of Genghis Khan. For myself, I ordered the Miso Chashu Ramen and Half-Fried Rice. I enjoy the Genghis Khan. Yes! It reminds me of the Genghis Khan I had during my childhood at my father's company's beach trip. I feel like my stomach is about to burst. Perhaps the ramen was too salty, as I drank water until the evening. On the third visit, the president ordered Genghis Khan again. This time, two items as a standalone order. More vegetables are included again. I ordered the Chicken Cutlet Set Plate with five large chicken cutlets, potato salad, cabbage salad, and Western-style mustard. Rice bowl, miso soup, chopstick rest, and pickles. The chicken cutlets are large and piping hot! If not eaten carefully, the crispy coating can cut the inside of your mouth. The chicken meat is juicy despite being breast meat. This time, I also ordered the Zangi Set Meal. This time, it was a visit with a colleague, not the president. This colleague kept asking about the Genghis Khan set meal the president had eaten, so I asked, "Are you going to eat meat today?" He replied, "Yes," so I thought he would order the Genghis Khan set meal and we headed to the raised seating area. There were customers in the raised seating area smoking while waiting for their food. This group of customers lingered even after finishing their meal, smoking and taking their time. The colleague's order turned out to be "Fried Chicken Set Meal!" Huh? "You said you were going to eat meat!" "Huh? Fried chicken is meat, right?" "...". What a hassle! Well then, there's no reason to stay in the raised seating area. We promptly moved to a table seat. Fried dishes take a little longer to prepare. About 5 minutes of waiting? As soon as the customer sat at the next table, they immediately started smoking. I smoke too! However, I don't smoke in a dining hall, especially not in a drive-in. Well, it's the customer base unique to a public dining hall or drive-in. The Zangi Set Meal comes with large fried chicken pieces. The seasoning is slightly light. I drizzle some sauce on it. Still, with a bowl of rice, miso soup, chopstick rest, and pickles, it's only 754 yen! During the daytime, it gets very crowded with employees from nearby factories and plants, as well as truck drivers. I will continue to support the growing Dosanko Ebetsu Kakuyama store!
