After moving in, we went to a public bath to wash off the sweat because the gas was not turned on yet. Near the bathhouse, there was an izakaya called "Suisho Yuzen" that we had heard was a fun and interesting place with delicious food and drinks. The timing was perfect as we were warmly welcomed by a cool couple leaving the restaurant. We sat at the counter and the master recommended beer because it was a hot day. The beer was indeed delicious and refreshing. We ordered a sashimi platter for 980 yen and grilled silver croaker with miso for 580 yen. The sashimi, especially the fatty tuna and fresh octopus, was exceptional. The silver croaker was marinated in miso by the restaurant and grilled to perfection. The chicken with shiso oil and extra rice was also a hit. We were treated to various complimentary dishes such as salted baby squid and garlic kimchi. The rare sake "Tsuki no Wa" was also delightful. The pumpkin salted dish and adult's Yubari melon were creative and delicious. We ended the meal with a fluffy and flavorful rolled omelette and spicy pickled lawanbuki. Overall, it was a fantastic and satisfying dining experience. We were happy to have such a great izakaya within a 10-minute walk. We will definitely be back to enjoy their hospitality again. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

After eating yakiniku at Sankatei, I tried to visit another shop to give New Year's greetings but it was fully booked. As I passed by another shop, the owner happened to come out and when I asked if I could just have a drink even though I had already eaten, they kindly welcomed me in. I ordered a highball. The appetizer was sweet and savory sand liver. The texture and taste were great, and it went well with the alcohol. I had a great time chatting with the owner and other customers. So, I decided to order a bottle of Kage-tsuki. The owner served salted sea urchin and flying fish roe as snacks. Perfect with the alcohol. Oh, here comes the beer-drinking doll joining us. Impressive, downing three glasses quickly. The owner was surprised. They seemed hungry and ordered motsu nabe and squid sashimi to enjoy. In the midst of our conversation, homemade char siu appeared and it was delicious. The sandwich made with it was amazing. From grilled dishes to seafood, there was a variety of dishes to enjoy. The kitchen is shared with the neighboring bento shop. The interior was created by the owner and their friends. I would like to visit again, this time starting from this shop. (2018.01) 3.6

One day in January 2018, P-brother invited me out for drinks to a new place he found. It was located just north of our usual spot, "Okankya", next to an old bento shop called "Yuzen". The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere with handmade dishes that were delicious. I ordered a cold Sapporo Black Label beer and enjoyed it while P-brother was waiting for his shochu set. The appetizer of crunchy sweet and salty tripe was tasty. We also had squid sashimi and tripe hot pot, both of which were delicious. The owner was friendly and the interactions with regular customers added to the pleasant atmosphere. We also tried salted sea urchin, pickled kajika eggs, and homemade char siu, which were all excellent. The owner even made us sandwiches with the char siu. Despite the temptation of the bento options, we were too full to try them. After a few drinks, I found myself back home in bed, realizing that I may have had a bit too much to drink. It was a fun and tasty experience at the restaurant, but I definitely need to be more careful next time. I look forward to visiting the restaurant again soon. Thank you!
